Absolutely beautiful music. Reminds me of home. The spirit of Otis Redding, Ray Charles and Sam Cooke is inside of you brother. Keep blessings us with powerful music.
Goosebumps every time! My son walked in the first time I played this loudly on my stereo and just said "this just sounds like love". When I hear him playing it, I'm very proud of his preferences
Hey guys, background on the Teskey's for ya! The guy singing is Josh Teskey, his brother is Sam who's on guitar. They're from my hometown of Melbourne, Australia and are very well loved down here! Loved your reaction ✨
Been to Dandenong for a training course for 6 months! I had a great time. Super great environment, I stayed right in front of Dandenong Square mall. Awesome time! Cheers from Colorado
There is talent all over the globe, but speaking of Aussies, particularly, another fantastic artist is Casey Chambers. Her band and the cover she released of her rendition of Eminem’s Lose Yourself is a first ballot masterpiece. The fact she got Em’s permission to record and perform her arrangement of that platinum reaching single tells you all you need to know. She cooked it. These guys here are just as fantastic. I might need to search out more musical content from down under! Cheers, Y’all! 🤙🏻
My first reaction was not Otis Redding, but rather a combination of Wilson Pickett and Joe Cocker simply because of the power and range shown here. But I can definitely understand hearing similarities to Otis!
The band and singer are from Australia 🇦🇺 We send soulful love your way mates! We hope you enjoy his music like we have! The band is from Melbourne Australia... I'm not sure if they have released an album in the US but if you Google them you should be able to find them. I think they did travel to Los Angeles to play before.
The Teskey brothers brought me here. 😂 your dads reaction is all of us the first time we hear Josh. I LOVE how genuine his reaction is. So glad y’all found them!
First time I heard this was revolutionary for me...without exaggeration. One of those treasures you are lucky enough to find that fill a void in life's gaps.
This song just fills my eyes with tears. It makes me think of my life and all of my struggles and everything I've lost. It's been many years, but all my losses still hurt.
I've been a teskey brothers fan for some years now. And your guy's reaction to the first line was exactly how I reacted 😂 I love that! Your guy's page is amazing. It reminds me of my father and I and our love for music. Music brings everyone together and it brings me joy watching you guys hearing songs I love for the first time because I wish I could be hearing it againd for the first time 👍🏼
I saw The Teskey Brothers in concert last night and they are brilliant. Proper musicians making some brilliant blues/soul/folk music. Also, I couldn't believe how good Josh Teskey's vocals are live. A true spectacle.
Perfect example of how the world wants to divide us but music will always bring us back together. PS# still wanting to see a Teskey Brothers, Teddy Swims and Chris Stapleton album. I would give up some life savings to see this album produced.
Man... thank you for this. I went from goosebumps to sobbing and I'm not even thinking about anything. It's a soul cry. Phooooh. That's the true magic of music right there.💞
Just like Whitney Houston singing could make a baby cry in real raw emotions just from the sound of her voice ❤ there aren't many singers left with that ability
Thanks for discovering the Tesky Brothers from Australia. They bring back that old school blues / jazz / soul type vibe. The lead singer Josh kind of reminds me of Ottis and Joe cocker a lot. Can you please check out Australian legend John Farnham “you’re the voice” live with the Melbourne symphony orchestra
Heard this song for the first time tonight at 9pm. It’s now 1:38am. Still listening. Can’t stop listening. I’m a soul singer from GA and I’m in awe. Thank you Pops for sharing the Tesky Bros. With me. Now to get tickets.
It was the anniversary of my mother’s passing on Friday and I popped this on replay to help with the healing. I love the Teskey Brothers. And, yes I was a fan of Otis back in the day.
"Oh sh*t" ! Happy it put a smile on your faces. The Teskey Brothers, Josh and Sam plus incredible band originated from Melbourne, Australia. They have released three albums: Half Mile Harvest, Run Home Slow and The Winding Way.
I really enjoyed the fathers reaction. The first time I saw a reaction to this clip, I immediately found my new favorite singer. I have 3cd's and not disappointed.
I still remember my first time hearing this song and that first line… I was like, “Otis??? Is that you???” Otis Redding is my all time favorite and this sound warmed my heart more than I knew I needed. If that makes sense 😂
I'm so blessed to have seen them twice!! Once at the redrocks and once at the Filmore in Detroit. Talk about an amazing concert!!! They are just fabulous!!!
I FINALLY found something amazing before my kids. Love this performance and your reactions, too. I think it’s wonderful you two have this together. It’s special 🩷
Tell me your Otis Redding influenced,without.... while trying to comfort a friend explaining feelings of loneliness in your lyrics, that's a child/student of the blues right there. Bravo 👏🏾
My sincere thanks for allowing the song to play through whilst reacting. The amount of people that pause the song whilst I’m getting into the groove is utterly infuriating! You guys absolutely nailed this reaction video! I’ll be recommending you to my friends, keep it up my brothers! 🎉 Otis Redding 👌🏻 nailed it!
Yeah, but it's a reaction video. People check out reacters to see what the reacters think of the song. If you want to listen to a sung without any pauses, why wouldn't you go to the artists channel and give them the click?
I’ve watched the original many many times thank you. I feel live reactions as the song plays through is much more authentic. Just a preference and something I feel these guys done well and different to other reaction videos. I’m looking for reactions and not analysis frame by frame like a sports analysis. Have a great day 👍🏻
I am SO glad more reactors are finally finding these guys - I almost wish i could erase my memory of them just to experience them for the first time again. They absolute faves of mine.
Found this from a random scroll session thru reels today and now I am obsessed with Teskey Brothers! Thanks for this video and introducing me to these new legends 🙌 💙
Best I’ve heard in a long long time. About time someone came out bringing back soul music. This guy has listened to a ton of Otis Redding and I love it. Shine on you crazy diamond!
How awesome to have The Teskey Brothers leave a message here...They are so supportive of their fans...I've had a few likes from them over on Instagram lol. Made my day/month/year lol. I also get the Otis vibes with this performance... Liked and Subscribed looking forward to more from The Teskey Brothers on your channel guys. Love from Australia
I’m loving this new return soul singing! on top of the great voices we’ve heard over the last decade. What makes me smile is the fact that it requires the return of an actual live band which also means it returns the love for instrument playing again, which is slowly dying in our education system. I truly hope this new wave of real music can inspire some young ones to practice harder on playing an instrument or singing, then on becoming an online influencer. Either way my ass is smiling right now to this
thanks pops 🙏
And thanks to your parents for getting the gene combo perfect. Twice! 😂
So awesome to leave a post for these guys. Love ya all.
Absolutely beautiful music. Reminds me of home. The spirit of Otis Redding, Ray Charles and Sam Cooke is inside of you brother. Keep blessings us with powerful music.
Amazing. Motown shoutout
Y'all are incredible keep up the great music your albums are fantastic 👏
That “Oh Shit”moment is when they realized they were not prepared for what is to come. 🤣
I love it when that happens 😅
I’m not sure any of us were 😂 amazing !
@@malachidavie5764so true !!!
Had me creasing 😂😂😂😂
Otis Redding has touched this man’s soul. That vocal was amazing
Chanelled Otis for sure
Agree. The ghost of Otis Redding and Joe Cocker are looking over this guy's shoulder. Chills down my spine...
Exactly!
Love this comment, so damn perfect!!
Definitely grew up listening to Otis.
How have I lived 65 years and never heard of the Teskey Brothers?? Oh Lordddddddddd, sing it!!!!
75 for me😮❤❤❤❤
Right??!!
They have only come into the US in last 3-4 years
@@TimPickeringThanks Tim, I sure am glad I came across them, they are amazing!
63 years here. I've been missing out! What a voice that's a gift from God!
Swear to god, I revisit this video just to hear that man say “oh shit”. Even THAT is soulful to me! Love these dudes!
I do the same. Oh shit!
@@edwardcaballero1308 Me too 😆
Me too 😂
Lol😂 he meant that
The most perfectly placed “oh shit” ever

Forget everything else. The best part of the video is a father and son spending time together
For you, sure. I just found a new soulful artist bc of them
@@HughGrunt Yes, I agree ❤

They are soooooo great!!!!
Warrandyte boys ❤
He sounds like Ottis Redding and Sam Cooke. The man can definitely sing
My thought exactly
Otis Redding, Sam Cooke and I think a lot of Paolo Nutini. The power and rasp combo is very similar to Paolo
Right I was about to say if we didn’t see him physically and someone slapped an old school album cover over it I could def believe it was a classic
My first reaction was not Otis Redding, but rather a combination of Wilson Pickett and Joe Cocker simply because of the power and range shown here. But I can definitely understand hearing similarities to Otis!
Thank you! I definitely could hear some Otis Redding but it wasn’t who I was thinking of and it was Sam Cooke but I couldn’t think of the name.
If they don't play this song @ my funeral? I'm not going!
@@patches6309 LOL
Lol😂
Is there ANYONE who doesn't feel this song in their soul? Wow just Wow!!

Yeah fr he seems like he really appreciates music
Hearing this for first time along with Dad. 🤯😭 you can't fake that soul.
That horn line , and the rest of the band, is the cherry on top.
So proud of our Aussie boys ❤❤
My mom would have loved this song. R.I.P Mama❤❤❤
This song just fills my eyes with tears. It makes me think of my life and all of my struggles and everything I've lost. It's been many years, but all my losses still hurt.
"Goosebumps, man!" Yes, indeed.
His voice is so damn soulful. Love, love his tone, smooth as silk.❤❤❤❤❤
I love how the son and dads moves mirror each other. I listen to that song everyday...

💯 I was lucky and seen them in Chicago and Philly
🤯 mind blowing live performances every second of the shows where great
I’ve got to see this

We can all come together while listening to music, working on a project together, having a drink a good laugh or sharing a meal.
This song takes me back to when I was a kid listening to my folks music from the 70's.
And he's drop dead gorgeous.

I’ve been watching the Tesky Brothers for 2 years now. I’m soo happy people are hip to them now.
The power of music is amazing
That has to be the Greatest

Just like Whitney Houston singing could make a baby cry in real raw emotions just from the sound of her voice ❤ there aren't many singers left with that ability
Oh my…this man is special. The range of voice and emotion…he gives this song the anguish and power it deserves.
So he is the lead singer and his brother is on the guitar. They’ve been Australian singers since 2008.
His brother sings like a God too.

They're Australian, too. This song reminds me of working at Memorial University Hospital in Savannah, Ga. I love the Teskey Bros.
When the singer makes you feel like you're singing it, you know that's the top shelf of the real.
