This video includes a 7-day itinerary including Shibuya, Shinjuku, Akihabara, Disneyland, and more. What I did over the course of one week in Tokyo bucket list with travel tips.
This past summer I got to check off Tokyo from my bucket list. A city I dreamt about visiting for as long as I can remember. It was also my first time in Asia, so you can imagine my excitement. I didn't want to waste any time exploring the city. After one week I left with great memories, learning lessons, and a strong desire to return asap.
Tokyo is massive (no surprise there) so I found it helpful to explore 1-2 neighborhoods per day - leaving an extra day or two to revisit places if needed.
Knowing where is where will greatly help you navigate the city, so I've broken down this itinerary by neighborhoods along with points of interest in each.

Lastly, “shinkansen” was about the only Japanese word you did pronounce correctly, haha, but you’re a tourist, so all good. :) Thanks for sharing your experience.

Thank you Sam. My biggest tip is to accept you will not see everything. There are so many things to experience, one trip will never do so enjoy what you can. Stay in the moment.

Going to Tokyo in 3 years. How was the language barrier when order food at restaurants or asking drivers for directions to get to where you need to go?
The younger generation speaks better English than the older, but of all the countries I personally traveled to around Asia, Japan had the worst language barrier. I eat vegetarian so that was difficult to order in restaurants. I used Google translate to read menus or asked for an English version if dining somewhere touristy. Hope that helps.

I personally liked Disney Sea more
Japanese restaurants has been selling cheap food like rice and fruit from Fukushima for tourists. Japanese actors who supported crop from Fukushima by eating them got sick and died already.
