As a young kingdom hearts player who has played every kingdom hearts... This is heartwarming to me. it took me 6 years to play all the kingdom hearts and complete them. I'm now a teen looking back at my past knowing that someone put it all together for the 20th anniversary.. Thank you so much.

The song is deeper than I remember. But, whose does it describe ? The singer implies to feel dirty and complicated, but the person they love most cleans their soul, even if they don't think an actual relationship would work.
Is it Sora ? He's the one who's not scared by the future.
Is it Riku ? He often comments Sora's smile is infectious, and he's more hesitant about relationships.
Is it Kairi ? She's afraid of intimacy too and has a lots of insecurities, but she learns to welcome the future eventually, represented by her accepting Riku eventually.
Is it the three of them ?
Well, this song wasn't made to the game itself, it was a song that Nomura really did enjoy that time then he asked Utada and Square Enix if he could use the song to this game first opening. There must be indeed some meaning behind the characters relationship for Nomura to choose this song, this is something i really would want to ask him if could, nice comment!

Hey again ! So, I'm thinking of writing a version of my own of the "Kingdom Hearts" saga, and I could use advice on Kairi.
I want to give her more personality. I want her role as a Princess of the Heart to be something she has to earn instead of being born with. I was thinking of making her somewhat manipulative, albeit somewhat accidentally (yes, it's possible to be accidentally manipulative), but that's not enough for a personality. Based around this fan detail, her crush and trauma, what other traits do you envision for her ?
How different do you think it would have been the story if Sora and Riku had chosen to remain there ? In the dark...
Speaking of, I wished there was some other similar scene in the future. Them together, just sitting...
