Stop skipping the progression. Most people have trouble with 3’s because they have yet to master 180’s. Take your time and progress confidently. Don’t rush 👊🏽
he hardly can progress from this trained false upper body position ... its already in his muscle memory... ones a trick is working, but with wrong body position, it is hard to correct it just by next attempt and saying "yes I will send it" before. But anyways, he landed it and fast progression is always hard
I can totally feel the guy. Getting more pop takes more courage as jumps can really send you up high. When you don't have full confidence yet you tend to focus more on the spin and make it faster to come around with less height. Which always feels rushed of course. So I am guessing the best course of action would rather be to do lots of straight airs with more height first, then go back to the back 3.
Nev’s snowboard addiction are the best, honest and humble! They really want to help all riders in the world without emptying There pockets. Watching your tutorials sinds 2008/09. Bought a hoodie for support. Keep it up Nev!
im here mostly watching because im a snowboard instructor and i love your teaching style, you dont push them out of their comfort zone but you also have them push themselves. brilliant.
its not a question of sending it. he needs to clean up the upper body position from bending over and teasing the lip with his hand before takeoff.. because if he starts from this position popping it, he will end up in cork and crash hard.
@@winterzahn youre overcomplicating things. the whole reason people do 180s before 360s is because it allows you to get used to the popping and the line you need to take for any spin trick without having to actually wind up and spin. the speed isnt really a factor at his level when the knuckle is so small, even 360s on flat are childs play if you can pop
Watching these video to get ready for winter and this afternoon i was struggling with my 180 backside on skateboard and i apply the tips on looking backward and not trying to spot the landing. Help a lot to stay balanced on the landing !
With skateboarding back 80's are all about that front foot, and staying centered over it. Try landing a few in pivots/reverts to get the feel down better. It will help a lot when the time comes to start doing them full and throwing them down stairs.
His stance seems too wide also. Would definitely Narrow it down so he can actually be able to use more pop . You loose lot of pop and pressure when the stance are too wide! Also would check the angles of his bindings .
@@pierceb2105 Seriously? I ride wakeboard, i just started snowboarding last winter and only did it like 3 times in total. But i feel so uncomfortable riding switch. Is it really that critical? I feel like this winter ill be able to try 360s but 180s i dunno cause of riding switch. I always envy seeing this guys riding switch like nothing, but if it is that important riding switch next winter i can try to practice and focus on that even if it take more time to improve.
@@zargator10 if you can't ride switch, you're seriously limiting what you'll be able to do in the park. It also helps general all mountain riding, as it can be tiring only riding one stance. The learning curve for switch should be pretty easy if you can ride well regular (or goofy depending what's normal for you). I'm not a great rider BTW, but I can ride goofy just as well as i can ride regular. In fact I was stomping switch fs 3s before regular fs 3s.
@@zargator10 yeah it's pretty important. Once you grasp switch it will open up 50% more tricks. You shouldn't be doing 360s without solid 180s. And if you want to do 540 you're back at square one. The only way to learn switch is to keep doing it. The more you fall the more you'll learn what not to do. I force myself to do switch 50% of the time. Just remember to learn forward foot heavy while switching heel to toe else you'll catch.
No back 1s because I suck at switch. Man, I feel that so much. My time on the hill is so limited, riding switch keeps getting re-prioritized to the bottom of the list haha.
@@SnowboardAddiction yes if he pops with rear hand drag, he will end up in cork position almost miller flip like , but crashing hard. Upper body position is completly off axis by doing hand drag, so he eliminates every chance for pop
He has the same problem with pops that I just realized I had. He tries to pop at the lip, where it's too late to do it. If he saw the snowboard addiction video about pop, he'd know to gradually extend his legs as he's going up the ramp!
Andrew Hua it is okay to do but personally learning 1’s first is a whole lot easier, it’ll help you figure out what’s more comfortable and natural feeling eg backside or frontside
It might be okay, but what if your first 3 attempt comes up short on rotation and you have to land switch? That exact thing happened to me on a few of my first attempts. I forced myself to learn switch over about 3-5 days of concerted effort during my first season, and continued to practice until I could ride regular and goofy equally on a twin board. I currently don't even know which stance is more comfortable for me, and think having that flexibility is a great asset and confidence booster in many snowboarding maneuvers. But... each snowboarder does things differently, and one should ultimately do whatever they feel is best for their own style or abilities.
@@SnowboardAddiction thanks! His courage to take up the medium kicker even though it was the first time was a plus too. That, combined with Nev's encouragement, makes a good combo for great improvements ;)
His issue isn’t his rotation it’s the way he approaches the jump, he slips the lip too much people are saying that he is too low in the air but it just looks like he’s going for a back 3 tuck knee he just has to work on popping off
dude is gonna hurt himself not using any pop on anything...Even the method was just like a run off....You can tell he is not comfortable with his board....Good teaching though.
I would like to ride with the snowboarding guys from America together, I think they would give me a discount for my age of 36 years 1 month I ride and my pronunciation can be written to me
No progression at all during this video. His problem is that he's leaning too far backward and on the tail - up the hill, resulting in a more of a cork type spin.
first off his stance is way to wide. I wish wide stance riders would realise wide stance is going to limit your abilities drastically. it's just simple physics.. second he's losing all his pop and momentum by squatting his knees they way he is before the take off. again wide stance riders you're majority limiting your abilities with spin and pop and just everything
I disagree, maybe you are small with smaller sized feet so wide stance doesn't suit ,I am bigger guy ,wide stance much more stable for me ,more surface area to land on ,his pop is limited from his upperbody not be used properly, back aligned ,front arm lifting on takeoff ,head in right place, everyone has different body types etc that is why stance will always be different but narrow stance riding rails ,to me anyway looks 'wack'
The biggest mistake is that he landing it on wrong edge. If you land it on toe side, the rotation is not thamed, that's why you must land it on heelside edge :)

I've been following your channel since ages dude and your new live coachings are a game changer! I love it!!
Do you use ollie popo or both feet pop for these tricks
I love this stuff but my man in black just doesn’t want to send it. He’s afraid to get air.

best advice i ever got for backside anything was bend at the knees, don't lean over - which is what he does a little on his first jump.
he lacks pop, that's the solution.

thank you so much for posting this
