And this isn’t even tuned down to E flat. It’s incredibly heavy and just barely south of standard tuning, but it does to show lower doesn’t always mean heavier.
@@GooseGumlizzard well Petrucci is incredibly skilled technically, but the Abbott brothers invented a whole genre, which inspired many others like metallic hardcore and nu metal (and the genres that evolved from them like deathcore) also Petrucci himself was heavily inspired by groove metal in Awake and Train of Thought
No. Dime was better...a lot better.Petrucci is more tecnical, but Dime has the feel, the power and the passion, the rockstar aura..and was very tecnical too, changed the game in ways that a very few did
Anyone who comes out with something like this cant possibly realize how important Rex Brown was to their sound. Rex is one of the nicest guys you ever have to deal with he was constantly backing up dime every chance he got. It makes me very sad, to no end that Hes not out there right now playing with Phil. Rex was 1/4 of Pantera.
when I was 14 I used to take my baths listening to this isolated track. It sounded heavier than the original for me. Now I'm 16 and love to sing Pantera songs with the fry scream technique I achieved
2 eq’s boosting a Randall Century 200. Mxr 6 band into a furman pq4 into a gate then into the Randall. Basically slammed the amp with a ton of input gain
They could seriously release the entire discography of Pantera isolated on Dime and it would go gold.
That fucking tone!
Id buy them all today!
Dimes playing is so clean even with the amount of crazy distortion
Some dudes with 9 strings can't even sounds this heavy

Dimebag Darrell with nine strings could sound this heavy🙃
Yep more strings don’t make it anywhere close. You have to be able to rock that shit
@@captainflappyarms8277 he never liked them.
always bout the tone not the tuning or amount of strings
Everyone: Hey Dime, how heavy are you gonna play?
Dime: Getcha Pull!
Gay
I can't think of a single guitar riff in rock or metal history that has more BALLS than this one! R.I.P. Dimebag! 🤘🏻
Fuck yeah, this is the heaviest fucking riff man.
First 4 bars, Phil came up with.
I love this tone, sounds massive
The power of double tracking
Whoa! The solo was double tracked ... All this time I thought it was a harmonizer. Very cool!
Will it not be the mxr flanger doubler?
One of my favorite songs to play!
I have listened to this song a stupid amount of times an it NEVER gets old.
HAPPY 30 YEARS OF ROCKING! ON FEB. 25th "VULGAR DISPLAY OF POWER" turns 30!!! STILL KILLER PLAYING!

3:12 underrated riff
Awesome sound!!!
Pure power!!!
It is even more beautiful than with other instruments and vocals
Dime dropping anvils
Man...i wish we could isolate guitars on every track...especially death/black metal.
2:33
hear some cymbals in the left guitar.. doing it live or didnt have headphones on when the drums were played back.... must have been loud af
Science has now confirmed that black holes are the second heaviest things in the universe next to dimebags riffs.

Thanks for uploading!! From where did you get it man? It would be really nice to know
you could get it from the guitar hero files i think
Holy gain
0:30 sounds like Dimebag took a classic thrash riff and reversed it
Gain at 11
🤘🏼🤘🏼

Bro told me you WILL fight at their concert unless you present like your not to be f'd with

Love his tone but sometimes it sound like pure static
3 3 3
3 3 3

all of the basslines here are missing.
Yea its guitar only
You're a little slow aren't you
I wonder how many distortion pedals were used for this insane tone.
