Super simple and to the point video that I haven't been able to find until now! Thank you - very helpful little breakdown! How about a video about subscriptions like envato elements, motion array, epidemic sound, stock footage sites and things like this?
SOMETIMES I bring my laptop out to edit on the couch, but I know full well that I’m not going to be as productive. Though sometimes a change of scenery does help :)
Really helpful tips. I'm still tempted to buy a crazy powerful (albeit expensive) new Mac with the M1 max chip. Better to have too much power than not enough 😂😂
hi! 👋 I've been following your channel, watching your videos for a while now and learning some stuff every now and then, Thank you, great job! Please don't be offended with what I am about to say but I was shocked with how you talk about RAM, CPU and internal storage and you completely ignored what makes a HUGE difference: the Graphics card (aka GPU)! That's what really allows you to have more done - the faster you export, the faster you start your next job and the more money you do! ...specially if you go with NVIDIA with CUDA - I know u can work with proxys but with a good GPU you can also make proxys faster! I also disagree with having to buy cloud storage, there are practical and free ways to avoid that but everyone is free to have their own preferences. maybe you can make another video in the future with more options, here's a content idea. sorry for the long comment. it was not written with a bad tone but hoping to help instead. other than that, great vid, keep it up!
Ahhhh yes GPU does make a significant difference!!! You know, being a Mac user for so long, I tend to not even think about graphics cards. But of course working on a PC there’s so much more potential to build an amazing editing computer!!! Now with the cloud storage, there are definitely other options that are free, but I’ve been relying on Dropbox and Google drive for so long as stable options so of course I’d rather recommend them. I appreciate you commenting and keeping me on my toes!!! Always looking to improve my content in all ways :)
@@ColleenCavolo I personally think that it depends. There are some features that Premiere doesn't have and the same applies to Final Cut. Both have great features. For some workflows and conditions, premiere might be the way to go. For example, if you are working in an environment where everyone uses Premiere, you should go with Premiere. And if you just starting out, have a mac and want something easy with a friendly UI, Final Cut will be perfect for your needs. I am not on either NLE's side because it depends on your needs.
Faster internet has been a game changer for me it means I can do projects quicker and clients are happier because they get the video sooner!
YES definitely a solid internet connection is essential as well!!! ❤️❤️

Thank you SO MUCH for that suggestion!! I’ll definitely aim to do that video as well!!
Thanks for the 'sharing info' about dropbox and google drive. Was one of my lingering questions.
Those are my two favorites for sure! WeTransfer is another option but I don’t use it personally.
Thanks for watching!!!
I really liked your point on having a place to edit, it's very easy to want to edit in a bed and then end up not doing anything

Biggest fan alive!
Oh my gosh thank you so much!!!
@@ColleenCavolo My pleasure to have a reply from your side...

TELL ME ABOUT IT I really want to buy the new M1 laptop butttt I'm trying to wait as long as possible lol
Yes get the M1 MacBook Pro or M1 iMac. You’ll be glad you did.
@@chriszayachkowski3298 But the question is whether to get the M1 Pro or M1 Pro Max? 🤔 Think the M1 Ultra would be overkill and too expensive 😂
@@lonerblader85 I think the M1 Pro is more than adequate. That is what I have. What software do you plan to run?
@@ColleenCavolo How do you like your M1 iMac?

Good point. Also she made no mention of video editing software.
How much do you make monthly from video editing estimated?
I make around 4k a month!
@@ColleenCavolo 4k dollars? Wow that's great! Coz I find it hard to make even INR 4k($55) a month. Any advice?
Premier vs final cut
Premiere all the way!!!
