I love the fact that a bike at this level and price point has cruise control standard. It will help force other manufacturers to follow suit if their bikes are ride-by-wire.

I'm looking for a sport touring bike, I won't buy one without cruise, and from most anywhere else I'd have to pay double what this bike costs to get one with cruise control. I've ridden supersports for years, my most recent bike was a 2019 ZX-6R. I'm coming up on 50 years old and I was looking for something more "old spine" friendly. 😂 I bought one of these, the Heritage model that looks really similar to the Ducati Scrambler. CFMOTO gives a full 2-year factory warranty on the bike, the engine is derived from the Kawasaki 650 parallel twin, but CFMOTO changed the fueling and put a much more aggressive cam in this motor. I love the rumble down low, it's got WAY more torque than the Ninja 650 I used to have, it's a super fun bike. The only issues I've had are: 1) The throttle is VERY twitchy at low speeds, I think they need to work on smoothing out the fueling. I've read that the 700 CL-X models in Europe are a lot smoother, so something CFMOTO did to pass EPA emissions in the U.S. affected it. I've also read there is a firmware update coming to address this. And 2) it's difficult to find accessories. I can get stuff from AliExpress, this bike has been available in Asia for several years. It's been in Europe and Australia for a couple of years now too, but it just came to the U.S. in summer of 2022. Given time, I think this bike will become very popular here and the aftermarket will embrace it. Like you noted, the features that you get for the price are almost unbelievable. It rides great, it's put together well, it feels like a much more expensive bike. It's no XSR 900, but for $5k less expensive for a brand new bike it's fantastic.

I bought this bike as my first bike. It's been great for me, it is very punchy like chase says. I've been following the break in procedure and keeping the RPMs mostly below 4k and its been great. I feel that as long as you are willing to keep the RPMs down and get comfortable on the bike and then start revving it out you'll be fine. The front brakes are very good and definitely require some time spent in a parking lot first to get use to. If you grab a hand full of front brake expect to be thrown into the tank and all of the pain that it comes with. The engine braking is great and the cruise control works awesome. In my opinion if you want this bike as a first bike go sit on it and maybe take it on a test ride if you can. But I would say it is a great first bike and you can't beat the price of it even for most used bikes now.

@@chrispekel5709 yeah the difference being that the 700 models have good branded brakes. The classic has j juan which is a subsidiary of brembo, and the sport has brembos
Picked up a 2022 for $4400 out the door with only 3000 miles on it and it is a great bike so far. Very punchy when you roll on the throttle and the brakes are amazing. Also, gearbox feels phenomenal to use. I’m impressed for sure.
CF Moto is doing great lately. I am aiming for the 300NK for later this year. Currently on a 200Duke KTM, so a 300 would still be an upgrade for me. Test rode the 300NK last week and I love everything about it. Perfect for my small town. Its super nimble and just easy to ride in small hilly congested traffic. It feels as light as a 150cc but slightly powerful than them. Its just great
I wound up with a Benelli Leoncino Trail 500 this spring. Will be trading it for something bigger in the spring, but it’s been a great bike to get back on a bike after a basically 10 year hiatus
C2W - OC - I just came across CFMoto tonight and then found your amazing and informative video. Nice bike with some great goodies and a nice price to boot. Thanks for keeping it Real!
My brother bought this bike a few months ago and it’s a solid contender in this market. For the price you get premium parts and good looks. What’s not to like?
Just bought this bike earlier this week. I have the blue, black, and grey version. This is the 10th motorcycle that I've owned and the 7th that I've had brand new. I really like this one! It's only the second one that I have had that has cruise control but I'm sure glad it does! I haven't had Brembo brakes since my Ducati and these have just as much bite as that bike. The power is good, the seating position is nice. The styling and price caught my attention, the features and ride made me an owner. Nice job CFMoto!
@@SWTVENOM Still running great. I really enjoy this bike. I did have a minor issue with the gear position sensor but it was fixed under warranty. It didn’t affect the ride at all. I’m coming up on 5k miles and when I show up to bike nights in NYC, it gets a lot of attention since it looks like a custom bike.
@@nickolaslewis4416 that’s awesome! There are some deals on this hike near me, just never looked too much into CFmoto before. I’m comparing this to the NK650, either way it’s going to be my first bike no matter which one I go with
@@SWTVENOM I bought mine this time last year and got a really good deal. I think I paid $5,990 out the door if I remember correctly. They had a few promotions going and I purchased one of the leftover 2022 models in 2023. It was a great deal in hindsight and I’m happy with my purchase.
The CF MOTO website says the 2023 model does have traction control but does not mention cruise control. It has a two year warranty now. Moto Jitsu says the brakes are better than an R1.
In asia there's already a sizeable market for CF MOTO. It was initially frowned upon over its debut, but gained a foot hold over the market for being an afordable bike maker. And they honestly have a good market along the mid range category. My only gripe is the resale and the second hand market, people buy these then sell fast, specially their NK400 series
Lexus strategy: Lexus offered a V-8 which Mercedes-Benz and BMW didn't have for about $40k when MB and BMW didn't have V-8 in the US (or for BMW a V-8 anywhere in the world, which was at least $10-20k or even $30k cheaper. While CF Moto hasn't gotten quite the killer difference that Lexus had, I believe it followed the same model. Of course Lexus started raising prices considerably after they devoured massive market share from Mercedes Benz and BMW. I expect CF Moto, if successful, will do the same thing.
I bought the 300NK as my very first bike, being that I have never ride. A motorcycle before. It was a great learning experience and awesome bike, buuuuuuu, this CL X in this same color was sitting next to my 300NK at the showroom. After watching this video, I get the vibes that "maybe" I made the wrong choice. Great review!!! Fun ride!!!
OC I think if it gets a little more time in the market and they hold up it will turn out to be a great competitor in the mid class market 👌🏽 only time will tell
They've already made a mark in US with ATVs. They have a US HQ in Minneapolis, and are apparently very serious and very open to suggestions for improvement from the market - but they've been selling bikes elsewhere in the world for a few years already. As others posted, they also manufacturer for KTM and Kawasaki, so why not sell under their own brand too? Competition is good for us customers.
Greetings from Scotland. I have this bike. Just fun. Had way more powerful bikes but this thing belies its power figures. Peppy it is. I use on country roads. Way fast enough. Sport mode, crack open throttle and oomph. Great handling. Looks remind me of my old MV Brutale Dragster. It's just a bloody great bike. 0 regrets. Edit: way better build quality than the 790 Duke I had. Way better fun than the Street Triple RS I had.
They do well here in the Philippines and aftersales support is great. Mechanics at the shop told me they have no issues so far with thr CLX. I just dont know if the issue of putting aftermarket exhaust is inherited on this one from their NK models because it destroys the ignition coil for some. Thats the common feedback. I just went for the ninja 400 since its a proven platform to begin with.
Really been surprised about what I've been hearing about this company lately I didn't think they made a bike bigger than 400 CC's or the 250 but now that I seen this holy s*** definitely been looking at him might have to go test drive this
Dude my brother in law had CF Moto motorcycles in Myrtle Beach 6 years ago. They were just coming out with their side by sides. The only bike they made then was their 650 Parallel twin. So they are not exactly new to the US market but they are up and coming. Reminds me of when the Japanese first entered the US market.
I'm probably going to be looking to upgrade from my Z400 in about a year, and I tell you what, these CFMotos sure do look tempting. They're super pretty, have a ton of features, and aren't bank breaking to buy... Hopefully by the time I'm looking to take that step up to a mid-size bike we will see how well these bike fare in the longer term. My only real concern is quality. Yes, they make engines for KTM that seem to be doing well, and their quads seem to have gotten significantly better over the years... but this IS their first outing into motorcycles... Not entirely sure I wanna be that beta tester :)
They actually have been making naked bikes since 2012 and these revamped ones since 2017, still no big issues have come up for them. So not a long history of good bikes but still a pretty damn good rapport so far! edit: released over seas that is, only new to America
@@collectivelogic So you actually have experience with CFmoto realiability, or are you simply bashing it for being chinesium? By no means i'm not trying to defend CFmoto. I just really prefer critisism to be based on some experience rather than: "Is chinesium, is bad"
@@getty6974 correct. CF and KTM were the ones I had most issues with and CF is only brand to ever leave me stranded. But when I ride a KTM it feels special enough to be worth the risk. Lots of good products are Chinese based. This is a global economy and I'm a fan of global participation. This isn't about CF moto = bad always because they are Chinese. But none of the reviews displayed so far talk about long term ownership quality and support for when you have issues. I'm saying if money is an issue, then consider a safe known motorcycle until these have enough miles to know how they hold up. Because CF is trying to improve. Maybe reliability isn't a concern for you, by all means try your luck and hope it's better than mine. The new lotus SUV is Chinese based and I have a deposit on that!
I got the 2023 heritage model in all black. It's pretty nice. Has an off-road mode, switchable abs and traction control. Pretty cool bike. Obviously it needs some sort of tune the way they mapped the fueling for the US makes it run very lean.
I have brought 3 CF moto bikes, they are a great bike to have, regarding your comment about the indicators, they should be self cancelling as standard, there is a pillion seat that you can buy as an extra.
OC! This company is banking on features for price and surprising quality. I'm starting to come around on liking sport bikes with the styling, and they are way more comfortable now. This is definitely a company to watch, I heard at my local dealer that they are kind of a partner to KTM. I think that's how they're pulling this craziness off. Overall, I'm just seeing what this company does. Their bikes look insanely good, and for that many incredible features for that price... the bigger brands need to pay attention. They don't have the reputation of the bigger brands, yet, but if they keep doing what they're doing... they're going to be a big deal in the future, calling it now.
I had recently purchased this bike and about 3 weeks into me owning it, someone stole it unfortunately. It was my first bike and I am happy to see positivity on the bike a lot of people told me not to buy
Went to my local dealer in UK, sheffield and they had none left to test ride as they sold out. All the cf moto models from 300cc to 800cc . They are reallt pickign up in sales here. Plus in uk they give you 4 year warranty and free roadside assaitance
I like the optional passenger concept. Usually just for one, but there are the pegs in case you want to bring someone, and I'm sure that tail is interchangeable with a proper rear seat anyways.
OC the reason why they can charge so little, is because they are in a joint venture with KTM under the name CFMOTO-KTMR2R. Where KTM owns 41% of CFmoto, they have been engine partner for a while, and it was just a matter of time that CFmoto started putting those engines in their own chassis. The designer is KISKA, who also designed the Husky Vitpilen 701, so very accostumed to work with KTM, and CFmoto must have good relationships with other parts manufacturers like KYB and Bosch, as they've been making ATV and UTV for years. TL DR: they might be new in the States, but they are quite established in China, they partnered with KTM to reach the west, and they have years of experience in the ATV and UTV market.
This engine is actually the old Kawasaki 650 as they bought the tooling from them years ago (well, that's what people say - they likely could have just copied it) That's why it sounds the same. Have a look at pictures of it and compared to a 2012 ninja 650
@@Moraruclaudiucostel I have one with almost 5k miles (owned it for a year) and it’s been as reliable and any other bike that I’ve owned. No problems so far. Note: I did have to get the gear position sensor replaced but it didn’t affect the bike nor my ability to ride it all.
What is crazier yet is CF Moto is a Premium manufacturer in China with both Japanese and European collaborations. You would think that their machines would be almost double the price, yet their prices make them one of the best values on the market. Unlike many Chinese brands they deliver impeccable quality at working man pricing. IMO, You would be hard pressed to find a better quality machine in that price tier.
OC: I dunno how they make a competent 700 sport with great brakes, ride modes, and cruise for that price either. My biggest concern is parts and service support long term. It's a more difficult logistics problem than building and selling. Seems like they're doing a good job bringing it to market. Now they gotta keep it there.
yea i suspect like all chinese things, these things are going to break consistently., and cause some serious damage to riders and pocket books down the line... we'll see... I personally dont think anyone should support this brand on principal...
Currently, 200 U.S. CFMOTO authorized motorcycle dealerships (service/warranty). A large parts warehouse in Kansas City, MO serving CFMOTO dealerships.
OC: they make enginee for KTM and kawasaki, plus they are heavy into the off road market. There wasn't too much r and d that needed to go into making this bike so they are able to drop higher end parts on it and keep it at a ridiculously low price
OC: I think I'm the only one who likes to chicken wing the bar end mirrors. As a commuter, I have to deal with giant cars with extremely bright headlights when its dark out. The chicken wing prevents me from being blinded...
Looking forward to an updated review of this bike. My first bike is a 650R Ninja. The extra torque is great to carry around my 6'3" 300lbs self. However, the high-end power lacks a bit. Also, the R layout is not that easy to maneuver, but the suspension is also a bit softer than the real RR even after adjusting the rear suspension to the hardest. Driving the 650R made me feel like driving my truck not a real sport bike. But I cannot ride while eating or drinking like in my F150. Would you think this would be a better option, or a step up from the 650R ninja?
I have to say that this motorcycle has been discontinued in China, which is a pity. In China, this motorcycle is often mentioned together with the topic of fuel consumption. It is said that the fuel consumption of this motorcycle is very high, but I have not actually test-driven this motorcycle because I am still a college student. But I really want to own this motorcycle and I am working hard for it.
Whenever a sizable moto channel does a Cfmoto review the comments are suspiciously positive. Call me paranoid but I think the bot farms have been activated.
@@timothyadams4477 rider modes, price, looks, ajustable suspension, better brakes, hey I’m not saying it’s automatically better but honestly tell me what the mt-07 and sv650 have on this bike besides dealer network and known reliability

. CFMOTO is simply buying their way in the market, understanding their 2 or 3 years residual value will be significantly be lower compared to the big badges so they are discounting it in the price point.
OC I was on the fence with this one. The price is right and it looks fabulous. My thoughts were is it another Yugo? A price point vehicle that breaks in a couple of years.

Is this one of those bikes that look better in person. It doesn’t look entirely bad to me it’s just that the design for the tank looks weird with how big it is on video?
I'm looking to get the 23/24 I wanted to know what you have learned about the powerplant on the 700. Also what's the top end? What's the after market exhaust worth getting.?
I'm saving cash for one. The price point makes good sense and I've been familiar with their products for years (think small Honda engines). No issues there. Ive been riding my room mate's Harley, but I don't really like that yeavy pig. Just too much mechanical noise for me. Im a mechanic and I don't like a machine that has a rattle that is considered normal.
OC: These bikes all have crazy tech packages for the price point. It really makes you wonder how they can jump into the market with everything they have as standard when the big 3 are lacking a lot of it on their standard packages. Cf has been making engines for a while, so I have faith in the power plant. The lack of aftermarket support kept me from picking one up this year, but in the future it would be awesome if the aftermarket is on par with some more main stream manufacturers.

What’s your opinion now that it’s been a few months
CF Moto is doing great lately. I am aiming for the 300NK for later this year. Currently on a 200Duke KTM, so a 300 would still be an upgrade for me. Test rode the 300NK last week and I love everything about it. Perfect for my small town. Its super nimble and just easy to ride in small hilly congested traffic. It feels as light as a 150cc but slightly powerful than them. Its just great
I can’t express how much I love my cruise control. I just bought a 2021 F-3S Can Am Spyder. The cruise is awesome, period.
It looks like this company is putting a lot of attention to detail with these bikes, unlike some major manufactures.
*_Your B-Roll is Second to None Chase. It seems like the CF-MOTOs and Benelli's are popping up everywhere. Thanks for sharing with us._*
How is it after all this time?
I’ve been looking at them for a while now, thanks for this video. I look forward to buying this upcoming season
Fun ride!!!
production quality is so good and just keeps getting better!!
Just got mine today thanks for riding it !!!!
@@ws8080 I totally agree, like polaris did with Victory, give it the good old college try right? competition is great for the consumer.
Really been surprised about what I've been hearing about this company lately I didn't think they made a bike bigger than 400 CC's or the 250 but now that I seen this holy s*** definitely been looking at him might have to go test drive this
Two 650s also including an ADV They have a 400 but I don't see it in US ?
Dude my brother in law had CF Moto motorcycles in Myrtle Beach 6 years ago. They were just coming out with their side by sides. The only bike they made then was their 650 Parallel twin. So they are not exactly new to the US market but they are up and coming. Reminds me of when the Japanese first entered the US market.
Ride starts at 5:00 as usual.
Been seeing these bikes since they came out. They are just new state side
So many used bikes at this price that will last you 10x longer with less trouble.
First time watching your channel you have camera cars and a dude on controls!! beast 💪
I got the 2023 heritage model in all black. It's pretty nice. Has an off-road mode, switchable abs and traction control. Pretty cool bike. Obviously it needs some sort of tune the way they mapped the fueling for the US makes it run very lean.
I really wish they did a fully fared version keeping everything the bike currently has.
Cfmoto bikes just look great I’m waiting for their 450sr to come to America but this bike is awesome too
The 450ss are in the states already did you check it out?
You can add a pillion seat there that's why there's an extra foot peg for passenger.
I’ve been waiting for this video man I’ve been lookin at the same 700 sport for months
I went down a rabbit hole looking up cf moto and wow for the price u sure do get a lot with this motorcycle
Very unlucky. Were you able to get full value cash back?
Great video Chase!!! Enjoyed it
Some of the audio clips did not match the video clips. Other than that, great review 👌🏻
Need to find you and ride with ya! I’m in Atlanta! Ride a 2019 FTR.
I am way more impressed than i thought i'd be. and the bike is a LOOKER. good as or better than its competitors.
This bike is drop-dead gorgeous. On reliability, I believe CF Moto makes the 690 and 790 engines for KTM. Says quite a bit.
KTM only gets a C rank on reliability.
Yeah KTMs are fun but not reliable. Always see them leaking all over the parking lot...
Ktms are pos 🤣🤣
Wished they had cruise control on all bikes. Need one on my z900
That CF Moto reminds me more of a Yamaha XSR 700
Went to my local dealer in UK, sheffield and they had none left to test ride as they sold out. All the cf moto models from 300cc to 800cc . They are reallt pickign up in sales here. Plus in uk they give you 4 year warranty and free roadside assaitance
eyyy!! finally cf moto in US! Cf moto is doing good here in the philippines i own a cf moto my self and its pretty good for the price :D
I like the optional passenger concept. Usually just for one, but there are the pegs in case you want to bring someone, and I'm sure that tail is interchangeable with a proper rear seat anyways.
Hello Chase, try the CFMOTO 450 SR,,you will amaze with that bike
This engine is actually the old Kawasaki 650 as they bought the tooling from them years ago (well, that's what people say - they likely could have just copied it)
That's why it sounds the same. Have a look at pictures of it and compared to a 2012 ninja 650
awesome! I Love my 700CL-X Sport!
Hey man, hows the reliability so far?
@@Moraruclaudiucostel I have one with almost 5k miles (owned it for a year) and it’s been as reliable and any other bike that I’ve owned. No problems so far.
Note: I did have to get the gear position sensor replaced but it didn’t affect the bike nor my ability to ride it all.
I like the look of the bike the front head light and tail section are perfect
Finally CFMOTO, can't wait for 450SR
I just bought a smaller CFMOTO 300ss. My gosh I love it!
OC: they make enginee for KTM and kawasaki, plus they are heavy into the off road market.
There wasn't too much r and d that needed to go into making this bike so they are able to drop higher end parts on it and keep it at a ridiculously low price
Chase can you do a review on the 300nk pleaseeee!! Amazing videos btw❤
considering on buying this, but what about mpg?
From an owner at 2000 mi (3200 km) ... 48-50 mpg (77-80 kpg)
I had tons of fun with this bike when I owned it lol kinda miss it.
Sounds crazy but cruise control the only thing holdin me back from getting a mt07 especially for their new prices. This thing up there now.
Need more on this bike!
Nice! Currently in the market for the Trident 660 but will hop one of these b4 I make a decision. Thx.
9:36 Handle balls…Yeah buddy
I have to say that this motorcycle has been discontinued in China, which is a pity. In China, this motorcycle is often mentioned together with the topic of fuel consumption. It is said that the fuel consumption of this motorcycle is very high, but I have not actually test-driven this motorcycle because I am still a college student. But I really want to own this motorcycle and I am working hard for it.
Whenever a sizable moto channel does a Cfmoto review the comments are suspiciously positive. Call me paranoid but I think the bot farms have been activated.
Or maybe people like competition because Japan has been lacking a bit recently
@@that1panther105 Other than cruise control what does this have over a sv650 or mt07?.
@@timothyadams4477 the price! Ah, the benefits of commie slave labour. I think that's a hard pass for me. Take an MT any day.

@@timothyadams4477 These do look better. Not saying I’d trust them over the big four, but they do look better and seem to perform as good. I dunno, time will tell but nothing wrong with competition.
I love how you so casually cruise along at Back to the Future speeds while talking and reviewing the bike as if you were doing 40 🤣
. CFMOTO is simply buying their way in the market, understanding their 2 or 3 years residual value will be significantly be lower compared to the big badges so they are discounting it in the price point.
There is a Passenger seat that you can get as an accessory .. I am getting one for mine from Main Street Cycle
OC I was on the fence with this one. The price is right and it looks fabulous. My thoughts were is it another Yugo? A price point vehicle that breaks in a couple of years.
i love a good value proposition
designed by Kiska in Austria, same firm that designs KTM.
Also Zanella Ceccato is the brand in Argentina.
I’m getting the bike in 2 days, I hope I don’t regret it.
I just got this bike a week ago. For the seat you can buy a pillion seat and can be interchangeable to that seat cowl. Great bike. Power is amazing! Plus BREMBO!!!! 🔥🔥
I'm getting the license in 1 month, if I ofcourse get it approved on the exam drive. I bought the standard 700clx heritage for like 1m onth or so ago and have practised a little on it and love it so far. cant wait to get the license so I will have more time on it and give a better review. but it sure is cheap price which kinda made the reason of the buying. and as u said, u get much of a bike for a small price!
So, any follow-up??? Like 1 month review ??
What would you pick if you had to choose between BMW F900R and CF MOTO 700 CL-X Sport? And why?
Is this one of those bikes that look better in person. It doesn’t look entirely bad to me it’s just that the design for the tank looks weird with how big it is on video?
I bought the heritage version!
I like how it looks
I'm looking to get the 23/24 I wanted to know what you have learned about the powerplant on the 700.
Also what's the top end?
What's the after market exhaust worth getting.?
Didn’t know you were near Roswell. Live right down the road from Roswell mountain motor sports location
Chase I was waiting for this for probably 6 months now. Thanks. Please do CFMOTO 650NK.
Its also interesting to see you skip right past the suspension part of the motorcycle, if only a minor mention. But why?
Cfmoto has a partnership with ktm in china. CFMOTO KTM R2R
It's fixed me and rides great
The exhaust note from bikes for year 2000 was the best. Now all new bike sound shit.
They are picking up dealers all the time, I passed this year for that reason myself. But they are getting more daily
@@carlosvejar3938 I agree. The dealer network has expanded really quickly. Once aftermarket suppliers get on-board it's going to be awesome.
