To me, the mudguard looks as more "part-of-the-bike" or at least the frame/swingarm. Even on single-sided swingarms. Do I just have bad taste? Thoughts?
You're not alone mate. I liked it the first time i saw it on a GS and think that it makes the tail look a lot sleeker while making the swingarm look more interesting

KTM does not own CF Moto, they entered into an agreement to produce certain KTM bikes in China. It’s that agreement where KTM has a 49% stake. In fact KTM is itself 49.9% owned by Bajaj in India. CF Moto is entirely Chinese owned. The bike doesn’t do it for me, ruined by the shovel on the back wheel and the wrong way round iPad on the handlebars. Given it’s a 100% Chinese manufactured bike £7,500 seems a bit expensive and the depreciation will be horrendous, if you can find anyone to take it.
Err..i think its the other way round, CF shares are 51%...but nevertheless their range looks good and they priced them at affordable prices..now their shares are higher than Yamaha as well when they joined venture..

Fair point mentioning the Hornet but having checked it & the GSX8S out, the Hornet isn't better imo. They're just different answers to the same question. Like for like the Honda is marginally cheaper, but I preferred the build quality, styling, more stable handling & better lowdown grunt on the Suzuki. However, I fully appreciate these are my preferences & doesn't mean better, but that's kind of my point. The Honda is more agile & has better top end, but equally it felt flighty & peaky to me. I also didn't notice it being appreciably more powerful or lighter. It felt more like a shorter wheelbase & different engine characteristics. Also worth noting after all that ramble, I didn't buy either lol. BUT I would buy either over this CF Moto or a KTM for that matter.
Hornet I hated riding, took it back after 20 mins. Throttle so choppy I couldn't stay at 30, felt like a toy. Went and got an F900R, definitely feel the difference.

One thing concerning in the US is no mention of the warranty other than 2 years. It would be nice to have the automatic extended warranty as the Duke, extended to 48 months if you service the bike at the dealer. Especially considering the camshaft controversy surrounding this engine.
Get one new and it's 3% interest and a million year warranty. Only thing that comes close for that is Suzuki, who did it in direct response to the CF. I like the base spec nk dash as it's half the size, but sadly no quickshifter. Went for a bmw instead.

Obviously, the fashionista wouldnt touch this with a barge pole. But for the cost of 2 years rental on their trendsetting moneypit the could actually OWN this and not be restricted to some pitiful 3,000 mile pa mileage limit. 😅
I saw one of these in a showroom of ducatis and triumphs (LOL), and it stood out - it is a really beautiful machine. Yeah I know - the chinese copied the old 2 wheels and an engine motorcycle thing.... Not sure it has traction control, and if you get the standard model you can get cruise (it might be standard) and QS.
Cruise control is standard on both models, only the advanced has the quick shifter and the tablet dssh
@@RichardWilliams-kf5vw right - the standard has the QS available for about $200 US and the smaller dash.
@@anxiousappliance I think, but don’t quote me on this, you can buy the Sport, then add the quick shifter and steering stabiliser as an option, but I may be wrong.
Personally I think it looks good, and in the UK it comes with a 4yr warranty.
@@RichardWilliams-kf5vw Yup it's in the online catalogs. A fair price too.
Only old codgers remember the really bad Chinese bikes, my first bike in 2016 was a Keeway RKV125 as it was only 1600 new. Great little low powered 125, better equipped than most 125's (of the time at least) and very well made.
Let’s hope cf moto sprinkled some Chinese magic on the engine 😊
I think it looks better than the KTM version except for the number plate thing, I’m not a 100% on the tft
Chinese bikes will get better, they have already improved and are here to stay. If they can sort the reliability issues theyre great value for money
My mate had a Chinese bike and the tyre cracked (as if it was old) and leaked air 😂 and parts randomly failed and fell off,
I would never ride a Chinese bike not even if they were giving them away
@mark675 that's a serious crap build mate. The damage has been done with chinese bike cause of this and that's what they have to work against now. I'll stick to Japanese.
@michaelkettrick4715 same here mate
@@michaelkettrick4715people said the same about Japanese cars and bikes 30-40 years ago, now look…
Here's a question john did you have to sign a contract to review this Chinese motorcycle only a motorcycle RUclipsr said he wouldn't review anything Chinese because of said contract ? Ive just purchased a cf moto 450mt & its bloody brilliant , also own a aprilla tuono factory so its not because I'm cheap 😂
Thanks for doing a Chinese bike video chopsy, there definitely hear to stay. There is a lot of brand snobbery with regards to motorbikes. Would be interesting to see what you think of the Voge 900. Great video as always
