@308Karl is correct - 2012 is the last model year for the "original" version, with the more bulbous headlights and taillights, though more incremental changes had been made in the meantime, such as the addition of the pseudo-analog clock and moving the parking brake location to the gearshift console. The 2013 model-year conversion was apparently not the concession they needed, as no appreciable sales boost was to ensue, this notwithstanding the fact they had removed all amber turn signal indicators, in adherence to the US-preferred, poor-visibility standard of all-red-for-everything. For a car the Direction had identified from the get-go as destined mostly for the US market, perhaps a decision to manufacture it somewhere in North America might have eased the price point, but such a decision was not forthcoming, and all were manufactured in Germany, and imported to the US. Overall, it's a very good car, and a decent performer, with many higher-end features (how many air-conditioned gloveboxes in 2009??), and will be appreciated by drivers who do a fair amount of road miles, so long as they are willing to abide the maintenance costs of German engineering, and until their spine no longer finds the appeal in lowering itself to that "roadster" height to cut an image.
Hey, those plastic panels on either side of the hazard button are trays that slide out. They are for gate key cards or business cards. You press them and they slide out.
My -09 VR6 has 244k km on it (about 151k miles, apparently). Still drives well and is a comfortable car. Absolutely love the engine. Also Haldex is surprisingly decent for winters, since this area of Finland unfortunately gets a ton of snow every year - I really got to test the system. Not as good as Torsen in my previous Audi was, but way more capable than I expected. Also in my car, the left side panel is for the in-car phone - it pops out. Right side I don't even know, don't think I ever have tried to open it yet. Probably storage as others have said. Interior quality is one of the things I'd say isn't exactly great in mine, it can get rattlish but heard these older CC's often were like this. Insulation is... Alright. If I ever decide to upgrade the audio system, I'd improve the insulation as well to make it a bit quieter.
I drove this car as a diesel with 6-speed transmission for 4 years until the diesel update came and it was no longer drivable. The update only caused problems and I then sold the car. It was a nice car, but the problems came daily. It was a 2.0 liter BlueTDi Euro 6 with 143 hp. Since the sale I drive a Chrysler Pacifica MFD 12/2003.. the first generation ^^.. and it runs!
People are too obcessed with badges that they see better values in others brands. Man at 2008 when i came out there were only the Merc CLS and CC the only "4door coupés" better values than Audi ar c classe or 3 series and way better looks! A head Turner of its time! Ps: bought
I just bought a 2009 CC VR6 4 Motion and I am very impressed so far. Rides great and beautiful car all around. All I need is rims, tints, and some basic chrome delete (wrap to avoid permeant change) and I'll be golden.
So many things wrong in this video. Panels next to hazard button were pop out trays, cc was not a 5 year model. Ran from 2009 to 2017 in the US if I’m not mistaken
Hey Zack I’m a new subscriber and I have been watching some of your videos, I appreciate the retro reviews, and your input, but I encourage you to do a little more research before stating specifics on the vehicles as fact. The Volkswagen CC actually came out in 2009, in your ES 330 video you stated it was based on the Avalon platform, which it’s based on the camry platform… I’m not saying I could do any better videos, it’s very difficult to get yourself on camera, and I know it takes a lot of time with editing, and mics etc. However basic research is easy I look forward to your future videos but perhaps just nail down the key facts before putting the video out there👌
Still have my 2016, still enjoyable solid car however have had some issues to get through, Intake manifold, water pump, timing cover oil leaks, vacuum leaks in oil separator causing engine light. Trunk wiring harness failing causing trunk not to open. Carbon build up on engine valves. If you are going to buy one get it cheap and make sure these things have been replaced BEFORE you buy or you will be paying for them $$$
Your big friggin’ bottle test is funny, but as a driver of five late model Volkswagens, they will never pass the test because the door pockets are designed to handle large bottles, not the centre cup-holders. When placed in the door, big bottles are actually closer and easier to hand.
See... I liked the cc. And I love the fact that (to me atleast) they brought it back as the aerton. The one flaw. TOO expensive for what that car is.. still love it tho
No where will you find the original translation of the word Coupe, as specific too two door. That simply became peoples translation as people often referred to the two door as a coupe. It’s a French word and referred to a vehicle with low roofline , not number of doors. The Rover P5 was a perfect example as it was available in both sedan and Coupe . Or the Passat or Passat CC. They actually got the original translation correct . It’s the modern translation of the word that is incorrect:)
I liked the refreshed body style of this car, 2014-2017. The CC’s replacement, the Arteon, is a beautiful car as well.
The facelift started in 2013 and i own a VR6 4Motion

Same car with same engine
Dunno. I have the '10 and I like the older rounded lights. I bet the electronics are better, though. Oh, I have the 6MT and love it.
I still have my 2009 and it still is very solid and confortable and stil stylish quiet cuiser
The CC bagan in 2009 here in the US. I own a 2010 CC and my wife is going to be driving it fairly soon. I think it’ll keep her happy for a while.
Those little pannels by the hazard button are actually small compartments that pop out when you press them, very satisfying
Hey, those plastic panels on either side of the hazard button are trays that slide out. They are for gate key cards or business cards. You press them and they slide out.
Someone beat me to it but I would love to see it's spiritual successor the VW Arteon on the channel!
I love these cars. These and the new Arteon are two of the prettiest VW’s ever produced in my opinion.👌🏽🔥🔥
those "panels" next to the hazard light button are actually storage compartments. push them and the tray will pop out.
The CC is still available in 2022 in some markets & in some other markets called the Arteon .
In China it’s still called CC
This was my Second Car after a MINI, huge difference! Resonantly quick and fantastically comfortable!
I drove one of those, it was one of the first Volkswagens I ever drove, it threw a check engine light at the moment I left the dealership lol
What was the issue?
@@mikeh.9954 I’m not sure. I reported it to the dealer and I don’t know what happened with it. I think it was probably misfiring
Almost all the cars I've owned had the check engine light. I never cared. Its a sensor issue usually.
I have a 2010 CC with 100K miles.......Still drives amazing...

Cc is better than those chryslers

I'm thinking of buying one tomorrow,, but I read negative reviews 😅

Great review. Love the part near the beginning where you check out the challenger scat pack …true car guy !
Those panels that “look easily removable “ are retractable storage. Push it in and it pops out. Both sides.
A correcting the 2011 modelos have a analogic click and the break stop bottom is near the gearbox. So the one you're showing is pre 2011.
The one in this video. Is the exact same as mine. EVERYTHING i love it

i have a 2010 cc vr6 and on either side of the hazard button, are pop out compartments. :)
those pannels were the hasard switch is, actually are drawers
I feel that VW was trying to wean customers off of the Passat to the CC but it didn’t happen

I don't think they ever offered a VR6 in the Tiguan.
Awesome! Was always curious about these
Love the FAU bumper sticker lol😂 that's a Florida car!
Those panels are buttons for small compartments! Just got one..
..On either side of hazard button
these are super common out here in romania since they are super affordable now
also out here they are called passat CC , from what i saw they are 5 seaters here and manuals are super common , but VR6 models are really rare
@@fabyrbl8177 are they reliable? I'm looking at a 2011 6 speed manual with 105k miles.
See... I liked the cc. And I love the fact that (to me atleast) they brought it back as the aerton.
The one flaw. TOO expensive for what that car is.. still love it tho
Just press on those easily removable panels please... 3:44
Should’ve used my 15’ CC R-Line I’m in Naperville 🤷🏾♂️
How do you review a car without doing research to at least get the release and discontinue dates correct
You should review its new cousin, the Arteon!
When I saw the title I thought of ci cis pizza
I have the 2011 V6 3.6L fsi 6 sp auto (with paddles and sequential shifts) AWD... it's definitely not a Passat!
it was more comfortable than passat and better built and handling
it was the best vw at that time
They are always in junkyards in good cosmetic condition!
Is every German car maker just disregarding that coupe = 2 doors? Mercedes, BMW and even VW apparently are calling 4-door vehicles coupes.

Need an gold arteon ⭐

From 2009 not 2011
hmm. i though cc stood for...well, its German...so...
Change Language to english cj508
.
If you’re going to do a review at least wash it and vacuum it. I have a 2014 Volkswagen CC and I love it..
