    The pricing of the TRD Pro and TRD TailHunter is insane! You can get a 2025 Toyota Tundra Limited TRD OffRoad for cheaper....wayyyyy more truck for less money. Same brand, also a hybrid, but your capabilities go way up

      Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the Ranger Raptor trim meant to compete with the Tacoma TRD Pro Trim? I own a 2024 Tacoma Off Road and the main reason I went with it over the Ford Ranger or Nissan Frontier is the option to get it with a standard transmission. I got mine for $48500 CAD out the door, which seemed on par if not cheaper than comparable Raptor and Frontier trims. I love the Raptor lineup though!

    Minus the high price this is 1000 times better than the 3rd gen’s. Drove all the mid size trucks and loved them all for different reasons. Ended up going with the premium off road hybrid for under 55k. Love the looks, torque and feel. Toyota has been building great 4 cylinder’s since forever, in the hybrid game for decades and have always held their values. So the decision was easy. Zero regrets.

  • @JSEME
    @JSEME 9 дней назад +2

    If the hybrid improved fuel economy and it got Maverick type fuel economy, you could make the case for it being truck of the year. Instead, they used it to match what others are already doing power wise, which is already more than enough. The price of these is ridiculous and they’re riding their reputation for reliability, which just isn’t there anymore.

    Agree that those isodynamic seats should be an option, it automatically eliminates the TRD Pro from my consideration. I think Toyota explained that instead of the front locker they did the sway bar disco. Since their traction control is very effective I think it’s probably a better option as well vs a front locker. I think you get more functional traction in most places vs the front locker, YMMV.

    Toyota Tacoma lost 8.7 percent in sales in Q1 2024. Thats before differentials and clutches broke online for major RUclips channels for the world to see. Then the reviewers on other channels that complain about the unpleasant noise from the turbo 4 under acceleration. Smaller fuel tank than previous generations...the list goes on. 🚫⚠️Tacoma Hybrid⚠️🚫
    The Tacoma Hybrid system should be a standard feature in all Tacoma’s as the turbo lag in high altitude off roading and towing doesn’t have proper low end torque and therefore is both annoying and can be dangerously unsafe.

Sure, it looks great.He went through some puddles, but if you go through anything really tough, I have absolutely 0 confidence in the drivetrain being able to handle tons of mud. I don't care what kind of filter it has. Those wire harnesses are gonna get gummed up with mud. It's gonna cause shorts, and it's not going to be the first owner or the second owner. It's gonna be the third owner. Who has the truck at 90000 miles? They're gonna drive it for 20000 miles, and the hybrid system is going to completely fail. I'll buy one if Toyota decides to make a xtra cab manual transmission 4x4 with a locker. Until then, not interested.

    ATTENTION: They NEVER said THIS truck is "Truck of the Year" this is a series to choose the truck of the year. Try actually watching before you comment ffs.
    I do hate this truck for the record, I hate most anything toyota does these days, but that is just me.

    So how much are you guys getting paid by Toyota to do this horrible car. I mean seriously this truck is junk. These Toyota trucks are going down in flames right now they're defective junk and you're sitting here contemplating truck of the year for this junk. You guys are going to lose me quick. I mean I bet you support Justin Trudeau too
