Thank you so much, Japanese beetles are killing me " I'm a FNG to gardening and finding out it not easy....😢 but now seeing your DIY this will well me with these bugs 🐛.
Thank you so much. My hosta plants have taken a beating for two seasons and I refuse to let the bugs win. Thank you so much! I liked the video and am sharing.
Watch out for the grubs that japanese beetles leave behind as eggs in the soil.powdered form of nematode will feast on them.had them in one large raised container last year.nematodes took them all out in 7/9 days.amazon has them.just refrigerate unused powder.
I have tiny orange bugs on my zucchini plants and buttercup squash. and mild leaf damage small holes and some ends look chewed up. wonder what these are and if they are bad or good. Also what is your thoughts on using dawn soap and olive oil and water. does it work? or is neem oil worth it to get
I am going to try this. Slugs have done a number on my green bean plants and most of my other plants as well. My pumpkin plants have also been hit but I don’t think it was slugs I noticed holes in the roots what kind of bug does that? And will this diy work on them?
I spray neem oil mix immediately after I saw flower seedlings eaten by bugs. Spray for 3 days and bugs still ate all seedlings. It was too fast to stop them eating. I lost all seedlings😢 But other flowers and plants that grown big enough, not seedlings, I spray neem oil on them as well and it works well, rarely see a damage on foliage by bugs eating them
You need to be very careful with Neem Oil, yes it is a natural insecticide but it is also deadly to the most important pollinating insect "bees". Vegetable/Canol/cooking oil is way safer for the bees, it just takes more applications. Good video.
I’m no expert but i believe the oil comes from the neem seeds/kernels when pressed, not from the leaves. The cold pressed bottled oil is very common to purchase. Maybe with a little searching you can find a way to use the leaves!?
Nice video! I'm making a batch now as I've got a ton of brown beetles in the NYC area. I don't think they are Japanese as they are just plain brown. Any idea what it might be? Gonna subscribe to support your channel!
The neem is the magic solution. I just had to purchase a new bottle for $20 however it will last another few years since I only use a little bit for a litre bottle. That lasts a while.
Do not put baking soda on plants ruclips.net/user/shortsQgTsuM1-UI4?feature=share Like any harvest, wash and clean thoroughly indoors. I usually spray in the evenings then water in the mornings since the critters are most active at night.
I personally never noticed a reduction of bees or dead bees on the soil. It’s meant to kill eggs/camouflaged critters that exist on the leaves. However i cannot verify. I have a lot of flowers nearby the bees like to visit! I only spray my veggies not flowers.
I do not have a grasshopper issue but I have read neem and/or dish soap can repel them or interrupt their egg laying process. Give it a try and let me know!
Does not work at home I've tried this for the last 10 years in Florida every time I try to go with this approach to do it every year organically. But unfortunately you cannot stop Florida bugs. You have to go a different approach unless you have a control climate which would be greenhouse grown indoors.

ruclips.net/video/rh5swq_aNa8/видео.html this is how I set those rain containers up!
That's a breeding area for mosquitoes.
Yay for neem oil 💪 It works wonders with so many pests!

Neem Oil works,I'm going to try it with Dawn dish soap

Thank you so much . First time growing outdoors and my poor 🍃 are taking a hit . Now I know ty
You’re welcome
I would love to use this recipe but my hands bother me, so I was wondering what the measurements would be if I use a 1-gallon pump up sprayer.
It’s what I’m using minus the dawn; I use unscented Castile liquid soap 👍
Beneficial nematodes are what I use.

Use floating row cover to keep bugs out.
Neem doesnot kill on contact, it makes the bugs stop eating , stop mating, so you will Not see immediate results
**The garden Hoty,I will try that on my Sunflowers.. :) *CATER*
I have some red 🐞 bug in my garden I have tried everything and they still there. I will try with the neem oil and see what happens 👍
Good luck I hope it works for you
Thank you I intend to follow your advice this summer.
Thank You, that was very helpful
You are welcome, that makes me happy to hear the video helped you out!
Great video. will this solution kill Lady Bugs? We have a ton of them in our garden. Thank you!
Hi, brand new plant owner here. Are there alternatives to Neem Oil that you can use? Like something I might already have around the house?
Yes! You can use a mix of bleach free dish soap (I use dawn platinum), vinegar and diluted with water.
Try mineral oil. You just need a little bit
Does this work for garden corn
Thank you. This is very helpful!
great channel, thanks for the info
Thanks for watching! Hope it helped

Thanks for watching. Honestly I assumed cooking oils would just coat the leaves and clog. I’ll look into that.
Neem oil doesn’t kill bees. I have been using it for 15 years. It may repel bees but it doesn’t kill bees.
Any idea if this works against snail and slugs?
😮
Neem oil is practically non-toxic to birds, mammals, bees and plants. Neem oil is slightly toxic to fish and other aquatic organisms. Googled it 😊
Great video, thank you
Thanks!!
Tysm!
No problem, this works for me and my regional bugs! Happy gardening!
Does this work on raspberry’s to?
Thank you
Happy growing!
Is this safe to spray on basil that you eat?
Can I mix neem spray with the detergent
Hello if i dont have the neem oil can i use boil neem water?

How about spraying vinegar?
I believe vinegar will burn plants. I use it to burn and kill weeds in my sidewalk. Kills the plant
Why do you spray after heavy rainfall? Just curious
In my region, I find that after a heavy rainfall I get a lot more bugs than usual, due to damp conditions I guess!
@@lauracoteDIY Thanks for the reply, that makes sense. I definitely remember seeing something similar after heavy rain but with earthworms
will this work for first stage fourlined plant bug
You’ll have to try! I have had luck with many critters!
Is this safe on all plants/flowers as well?

Hmm maybe try a big identification app? Look up asiatic garden beetle.
@@lauracoteDIY Thanks! I'll try!
Can you just use dawn with water I can't afford that other stuff

Can I spray this need oil, baking soda & soap solution on veggies or herb plants ? If yes, how long do I wait before harvest after spray ?

Where can we buy the neem oil in Canada?
Amazon lol
Is this ready to use Neem oil or extract?
Ready to use cold pressed neem oil. Not extract.
Can't find neem oil. Is it OK to use detergent alone? or should I mix it with food oil (To stay longer)?
Neem is the insecticide. I cannot say if food oil would work at all. I purchased on amazon.
Where did you buy your neem oil?
I have purchased from a local health food store and also amazon. Look for cold pressed neem oil.
@@lauracoteDIY Thanks!
Thank you for sharing your info. It helps me alot. So thanks...
I hope this works on my roses!
I hope so too
An alternative to neem oil is olive oil❤
Can you use neem leaves instead of neem oil?
I doubt it, neem oil comes from cold pressed leaves I believe!
1000th like
Will this deter my honeybees?

I imagine gardening is far different than zones 3-7! Different climate entirely!
What oil ???
Neem oil
Neem is tree
Didnt know neem killed on contact
I didn’t either until a lot of research! Seems to be true!
Neem oil burned my plants and I’m scared to use it
Hmmm Did you mix it with water to dilute the neem?
