For the training points thing, I’m an ice wizard & I minor in the life school. Sure it might be pretty controversial as they are probably the two most bashed schools 🙃 however I am quite the tank & rarely die in quests. With the great health along with heals I find i can be pretty versatile if needed. Sure fights might take a little longer but I’m patient. So far I’ve used my points up to satyr as well as infection & other triple trap cards.

Great video and very helpful. I'm a bit of an introvert myself and didn't realize that accepting friend requests is a good idea. my deck setup for the entire first arc on my myth wizard was 2 frog, 2 mythblade, one feint, and one spirit blade. this plus a shit ton of monstrous tc got me through ds is like 2 seconds
I thought the same thing about the side quests. I only did main quests on my third wiz. Turns out if you only do main quests, by the end of dragonspyre, you’re only lvl 45. And you can’t get to celestia till lvl 48 🙃 so have to do some of them, but yeah I wouldn’t do too many of them

As a kid I struggled the most with spending my training points wisely, making my deck incredibly large to where It's ridiculous and hard to get what I need and not spending any crowns I got wisely I got a lot of the card packs too lol I can't remember when I first started playing exactly but I'm a long time player been playing almost since the release of this game and I've come a long way with learning I agree 100% with everything you said all modern players need to be acknowledged of these things The one thing you didn't mention that I wish I would of would've known is the game is only free for a few places and then you need a membership or crowns as a kid I had to beg my parents for a membership pretty much lol
Make a video about where/when to spend your training points! I would love a detailed explanation about it, as I just got back into the game after 4 years and want to get good at it this time.
Hello there Phantom. I know it's off-topic, but me and a few other people have decided to take action to revive Pirate101. I figured you'd be interested, would you be willing to help?
Gonna have to disagree on the deck filling part. Having options is important, and getting a "bad draw" is made kinda irrelevant when you can scrap cards to draw more anyways. And with how many of the better spells cost several pips, a "wasted" turn is still progress towards something useful.
New video idea (feel free to take it) "10 things I wish I knew before I started Pirate101" #1. They'd stop updating the game after a couple of years!!!
People have already touched on it but at level 30, 60, 100, and 130 there are really good ftp gear sets so unless you are looking for a specific piece of gear, no need to waste crowns on pack gear. Also wait to hit a higher level to buy energy gear. If you need low level energy gear, a few tourneys in pvp will give you the seafarer's set which is decent for starting out.
Thank you for taking the time to make such a fabulous video.. It helped me tons.. I've been playing Wiz off and on for about 7yrs now... To be totally honest I still don't understand the pet thing.. I did manage to get my Life up to level 130 solo.. I've just now started a new Storm, and I'm playing them together which makes it a lot easier. - Like you, I made a lot of those first grade mistakes, but your video did show me a few things I didn't know about.. So Thanks again.. I've subscribed as well as clicked the bell to see more of your video's as they come out... Have a FAB Day, and don't let Social Distancing get the best of you. We are all here for you :)
One of my biggest mistakes was completely negating AOEs in questing because I was a myth wizard and thought that froggy and earthquake were too weak to be useful and proceeded to use minotaurs, orthrus and medusa to kill mobs lol Also the basic training point issues, bad gear and not knowing about farming (which also led me to having to continuously try for like 2-3 weeks to get Medusa because that was before the boss was nerfed and I was pretty terrible myself), terrible pets, etc
Even with my characters max I still really like to train a secondary school. It's not ideal, absolutely not, the game is built to make it so difficult lmao. Kingsisle discourages all players from trying to break the meta and try different stuff. But I like to RP my characters, so I go into other schools based on their backstories. My death is a necromancer because he was resurrected by Raven to be her champion, but he was originally a conjuror from Marleybone, so he has myth spells but primarily uses death. I like Earthquake because it's a good shield breaker, looks appropriate thematically (i.e. Underworld, Hades, earth opening up, etc.), and goes along with my concept. Orthrus is fun too for the theme (Cerberus's brother) and it's honestly a little more useful than Scarecrow since Chrulu is superior to that. This offers a fun single hit for shield breaking. A mastery amulet and some universal damage gear helps, but I know this isn't everyone's cup of tea. I just like to branch out since starting to play D&D and realizing how fun it is to build around your character.
I have a few different decks. Some of them are full just because I honestly enjoy seeing a full deck, and just so I don't have to constantly switch cards around for bosses and such. Basically the big three decks I have are an offense deck (slim: A couple blades, a couple traps, a couple enchants, a couple AoEs and a couple single-targets for cleanup and a couple TC just in case), a support deck; maxed out for flexibility with Treasure Cards to ensure I can get a specific spell if I absolutely need to then a general deck for soloing; maxed out, again for flexibility but primarily for myself. Ended up making a Waterworks deck, as well, for obvious reasons... even though I ended up only needing about a half dozen fights to get my Death gear.
I think it would have been good to mention that it is much better/cheaper for someone to start the game now using a membership than what I did as a kid which was buy crowns for the purpose of accessing areas. In the long run it's technically better but if I were to start a new account I would definitely get membership instead of buying all the areas.
As an old soul, here are the things I have to tell people: 1. Do not train a second school 2. Get feint 3. Go to Mount Olympus at level 30 and farm for the gear 4. HP is not the best stat to go for (especially as a storm) 5. Use the internet to look things up. 6. Talk to your professor when you see their head in the bottom right. That's a spell quest. In fact, talk to them right after this dungeon because you seem to have missed several spell quests.
Hope you're doing well on your break. Thanks for the videos! I restarted playing this game a few days ago. So the pets you get early in the story now are better to keep training? Cool tip on the gold for crowns items. I looked around... Currently there are 5 mounts available for gold, ranging from 50K to 90K. Houses: 14 out of 16 can be bought with gold, 50K to 125K. Two clothing bundles. Eight playable instruments under housing. Gonna check those out.
Something I noticed is , my friend got to krokotopia and was lol 10/11 around there. He basically ignored side quests (bcz he didn't know about them) while I was doing every side quest and when I got there I was around the same level . So really seems like side quests aren't worth it
Early wizard101 days: What secondary school are you guys? Now: You have spent your talent points wrong; You need feint, tower shield and heals! Oh and get star school.
My best wiz101 tip is: GARDENING . its basically everything you need. it helps u level pets for free . you get so much mega snack from gardening. you will never need to spend crowns or gold or anything. i been playing wizard since 2009. when mooshu was end game
When you first meet Farley, he says that when he's done teaching you, he has a favor to ask. He never asks you for the favor. And I am only up to Azteca, does Bartleby ever get his eye of history back?
One missing is multiple decks. LIke how only using the cards you need. It saves so much time having a boss, mob, and cheat deck. When I pvp I remember those. remember the quality of life add to allow us to name decks so we didn't have to worry about having decks with the same item name.
new player, started off as death cause if the book quiz thing. been having a blast playing. seems the only mistake ive made is myth secondary. but i can fix that if it suuuuper matters. im mostly still trying out f2p/lvl10 content to get a feel for what i like most. very helpful thanks 💖✨
Now to find out what my main quest is lol... I have 4 with stars around them telling me they're the main quest. Just picking the game back up after 12 years, so this was very helpful! I for a fact had to reset my training points cause I was a dumb kid lol
Iam 22lvl rn, I have a long way till 130 xd. I started playing this game again after 7 years and I did almost all of those mistakes as a kid. Thank god I watch more RUclips now and learn about the games I play
Dude I had some of the same problems I did a side quest in mooshu I didn’t realize that it wasn’t my main quest it was 9 years ago I made the same mistakes you did
I never had to worry about overpacking, i play some yugioh and used the mentality “deck thinning is deck winning,” tbh i only run about 7-12 spells and it works super effectively
The only advice I can give is to pick a name that youll see yourself liking after coming back many years later because I’ve deleted so many characters because I didnt like their names after coming back😭😭😭
1. game is not free 2. enemies can pull you in from 10 miles away 3. they will keep spamming weakness 4. they will use shields a lot - 80% shields 5. most of the time you will play against your own element so it's hard 6. expensive (crown shop) If you can overlook these qualities, then it's a good game. I still play it while enjoying it most of the time :)
What I wish I knew: that membership is a better investment because I bought 20000 crowns worth of areas ( nightside cyclops firecat crab alley colossus and like 2 parts of Krok
I used to exclusively use crown shop gear for questing and I was wondering why I was so shitty at the game,, till someone told me I shouldn't use gear I get from packs and use gear I get from questing. It changed my life
When you first meet Farley, he says that when he's done bending your ear, he has a favor to ask. He never asks you for the favor. And I am only up to Azteca, does Bartleby ever get his eye of history back?
Number 9 is definitely me. Filled up my deck with the mentality of "Ohh yes yes more spells more chance to win hehehehe" until I needed an offensive spell for a final blow but it just spammed me with fuckin shields and after two turns BOOM! I die. Never raged so much in this game after that match RIP.
I got this game around when it came out. Realised it was membership. Grinded till level 24 in Triton Avenue. Took like a 5-10 year break (idk how long). Got back in, got membership. Stopped after member. Wated months/a year. Got member, rinse and repeat A lot of the *new features* like gardening and etc im still lost about haha. And idk ANYTHING for an old player
Good list. I made error number 4 by doing so many side quests that I still hadn't reached Medulla when I hit 130, plus error number 3 by training Myth on my Ice (what a terrible, TERRIBLE mix lol)
honestly, i mostly solo so i keep a packed deck because i usually get more varied pve. this is obviously up to personal taste, but i find it a lot more fun! i have different decks for farming and team based dungeons, but if i'm alone i have a full deck

And I've done every other quest. I have been fighting the kraken for like 3 days

Perhaps ;)))
Hello there Phantom. I know it's off-topic, but me and a few other people have decided to take action to revive Pirate101. I figured you'd be interested, would you be willing to help?
Do ittttttt. Please
@@loganscott2528 We have a discord server, IDK if it's ok to post the invite link here though. Just add Wiwade#7622 if you're willing to help.
I think I might already be in the discord, is it called Pirate101 Community? Also I'm Phant0m#9166 feel free to message me.
They'd stop updating the game after a couple of years!!!
hehe yea, not even a bad idea though
Aww thanks dude, glad I could help!
One of my biggest mistakes was completely negating AOEs in questing because I was a myth wizard and thought that froggy and earthquake were too weak to be useful and proceeded to use minotaurs, orthrus and medusa to kill mobs lol
Also the basic training point issues, bad gear and not knowing about farming (which also led me to having to continuously try for like 2-3 weeks to get Medusa because that was before the boss was nerfed and I was pretty terrible myself), terrible pets, etc
ooooof
Wizard101: 10 things i wish I kn- *banned*
In a nutshell.
I spent a tons of crowns to buy back my training points when I was 8 or 9
I hope for good reason
Same. What a waste lmao
I didn't know about that side quests thing. Glad I already spent a bunch of time 100% completing Krok and Marley 🙃
Pretty sure I've fully completed Wizard City-Mooshu on my fire
I respect that, but still what
I have a few different decks.
As an old soul, here are the things I have to tell people:
1. Do not train a second school
2. Get feint
3. Go to Mount Olympus at level 30 and farm for the gear
4. HP is not the best stat to go for (especially as a storm)
5. Use the internet to look things up.
6. Talk to your professor when you see their head in the bottom right. That's a spell quest. In fact, talk to them right after this dungeon because you seem to have missed several spell quests.
I basically did all of these back in the day.
It's all part of the experience
Dang i only learned to discard by watching blazes videos dang
Me: Trained until this moment on every account to a secondary school.
...
Me: Trains a first Gen pet to Mega.
So really seems like side quests aren't worth it
The discarding part got me lmao I can't
Regarding spending points, should mention visiting Niles for blades and traps. And discarding cards, I didn't know that for a long time.
And I am only up to Azteca, does Bartleby ever get his eye of history back?
im glad i found ur vid bcs I also saw that storm spells did more than my fire and was about to put all my points into storm spells.
One missing is multiple decks. LIke how only using the cards you need. It saves so much time having a boss, mob, and cheat deck. When I pvp I remember those. remember the quality of life add to allow us to name decks so we didn't have to worry about having decks with the same item name.
Just got back into this game and realize that the people are a lot nicer than other games
Omfg i love you for the second tip, im currently in krokotopia with my friends
new player, started off as death cause if the book quiz thing. been having a blast playing. seems the only mistake ive made is myth secondary. but i can fix that if it suuuuper matters. im mostly still trying out f2p/lvl10 content to get a feel for what i like most. very helpful thanks 💖✨
You’re videos are amazing you will be big someday keep going
Thanks dude appreciate it :D
this is the second time i’ve rewatched your vids
I had a mega piggle and the worst fact was, it had no skills and to this Day I don't understand why.
Now to find out what my main quest is lol... I have 4 with stars around them telling me they're the main quest.
Just picking the game back up after 12 years, so this was very helpful! I for a fact had to reset my training points cause I was a dumb kid lol
As a Death wizard +80
Side quests are useful (Tip)
Iam 22lvl rn, I have a long way till 130 xd. I started playing this game again after 7 years and I did almost all of those mistakes as a kid. Thank god I watch more RUclips now and learn about the games I play
Dude I had some of the same problems I did a side quest in mooshu I didn’t realize that it wasn’t my main quest it was 9 years ago I made the same mistakes you did
ver yea I’d get hung up on side quests all the time
I never had to worry about overpacking, i play some yugioh and used the mentality “deck thinning is deck winning,” tbh i only run about 7-12 spells and it works super effectively
The only advice I can give is to pick a name that youll see yourself liking after coming back many years later because I’ve deleted so many characters because I didnt like their names after coming back😭😭😭
Used to play back in 2009 and just got back into it because of my girlfriend level 37 now so still got time to learn
1. game is not free
2. enemies can pull you in from 10 miles away
3. they will keep spamming weakness
4. they will use shields a lot - 80% shields
5. most of the time you will play against your own element so it's hard
6. expensive (crown shop)
If you can overlook these qualities, then it's a good game. I still play it while enjoying it most of the time :)
I started gardening as soon as I could back when I was young and couldn't have many crowns.
I became a rank 11 by the time I was level 25.
I just remember me as ice wanting to get up to like rebirth with a life mastery amulet so I could not only tank hits but heal my team and be valuable
I wished i actually read how pvp worked. I finally did a match at lvl 52 and lost because i didnt know we literally went turn for turn.
WHY WAS ALL OF THIS RELATABLE
Number 9 is definitely me.
Filled up my deck with the mentality of "Ohh yes yes more spells more chance to win hehehehe"
until I needed an offensive spell for a final blow but it just spammed me with fuckin shields and after two turns BOOM! I die.
Never raged so much in this game after that match RIP.
Don't train into a secondary school.
Me: I missed the part where that's my problem
I got this game around when it came out. Realised it was membership. Grinded till level 24 in Triton Avenue. Took like a 5-10 year break (idk how long). Got back in, got membership. Stopped after member. Wated months/a year. Got member, rinse and repeat
A lot of the *new features* like gardening and etc im still lost about haha. And idk ANYTHING for an old player
I remember like right when the game came out and I also didn’t realize dispelling was a thing
Good list. I made error number 4 by doing so many side quests that I still hadn't reached Medulla when I hit 130, plus error number 3 by training Myth on my Ice (what a terrible, TERRIBLE mix lol)
Take a shot every time he says guys
honestly, i mostly solo so i keep a packed deck because i usually get more varied pve. this is obviously up to personal taste, but i find it a lot more fun! i have different decks for farming and team based dungeons, but if i'm alone i have a full deck
thank for the side quest advice cuz I've been confused by that wast my time...:D
Just because you said this...
I'm gonna raise a mega piggle.
My biggest crafting mistake is not knowing you could purchase reagents in the crown shop...
Me, a newb making all of these mistakes at this moment:🙉🙈
