Mount Bromo is one of the most famous and active volcanoes in the world. To catch the sunrise, we woke up at midnight and arranged for a vintage Land Cruiser to pick us up for an epic climb to the crater's edge of this massive volcano.
We arrived in Malang after taking a late-night train from Banyuwangi. Unfortunately, we got in too late to start our trek, so we decided to explore the rainbow village of Jodipan instead.
After returning to the Land Cruiser, we took a quick detour to the Sea of Sand to explore more of the stunning landscapes in the area before returning to our hotel for some rest.

Bromo was named the 3rd most beautiful national park in the world 2023 by Bounce, A travel services platform based in San Francisco.
We can see why! It’s so incredible. Such an amazing and unique landscape.
You guys definitely need to give a bromo sunrise tour another try, but you SHOULD watch Emmie and Paul bromo video first! They are smart enough to pick a route that no one else did 🤠

actually in West Java, north of the city of Bandung (the capital of West Java province, about 20 km north of the city of Bandung, there is Mount Tangkuban Perahu which is still active and you can drive a car to the edge of the crater of the mountain, and to the south of the city of Bandung, about 25 km away there is Kawah Putih, which is a wide sulfur lake from the crater, which is turquoise green and very beautiful and you can feel like you are on another planet,...!
Been there done that, but mount Bromo and Ijen is in another level, can't compare
So many scam on Bandung and West Java.

If you have time, you can try climbing Dieng, the car can get very close to the active crater. and I don't think it wastes much energy and we can even be 5 meters away from the crater bubble.

Just so you know, mount bromo has the same danger level as mount marapi which has just erupted and killed 23 hikers
We heard the news. 😔 It’s very tragic and made us grateful that our visit went as planned, but we feel so sorry for the victims and their loved ones.

What's your rate bromo from 1 to 10?
Oh, that's a tough one! We would rate the landscape a 10/10, but the experience overall, probably a 7/10. We actually posted an in-depth review on our Instagram page just yesterday. We preferred Ijen to Bromo, but we wouldn't hesitate to do either again. 🥰
