- On February 1st 2024 my girlfriend Di and I set off to hike to the summit of Snowden.
This was a cold but really fun hike up Snowden 😊

Hi Ryan, beautiful weather, great views and few people - lucky you, that’s a real treat on Snowden.
Hi David, the weather was great, a few days before this hike there was a lot of snow on the mountain. We didn’t have the snow equipment so had to wait for the snow to clear. Snowden is so busy in the summer months now that it puts me off, very quiet in the winter. It was very nice to feel like we had it to ourselves 😊
Nice one Ryan... Its a great mountain, I've not done Pyg track before but Rhyd Ddu and Watkins Path are incredible... The rainbow cloud was a brocken spectre, I've not been lucky enough to see one yet!
Wow, I just looked up a Brocken spectre and it is incredible. I didn’t realise it had a name. Thank you for teaching me something Nathan👍🏼😊 it was very cool to see, it was so close aswell. The Watkin path is my favourite way up Snowden, the waterfalls are cool. The Pyg track has some beautiful views and you can come back to the Pen Y Pass car park via the Miners track to make it more of a loop.

Thank you. No plans for the Te Aroroa yet but I really want to do it. I may have to do a bit of work first though to build up my funds again but hopefully in the next couple of years I will be down under 😊
