Nice work!!... Im doing dse minis in my 68.... I really like what you do with these cars and the fine craftsmanship doing them as well.... So awesome... Im 60 now so these mini tubs 4 link and axle swap have already taken me 2 months looking at thinking about installing whereas 25 years ago 3 nights after work til 4am and it all would have been done.... Stay smart young and healthy my friend and keep Rollin em out!........I remember a customer of mine when I was about 38 he was a 30 year top air force pilot in shape 60 year old guy and he said, money is great, but without Health its worthless... ( HEALTH IS WEALTH)... and I have to say my God was he correct!.... Just subscribed....
Awesomeness!! The beauty of this build is its visually documented and nothing is skimped on. I think the value of the car when finished will be up there too. Thanks Rick.
I agree.......... triple check everything. It only takes twice as long to triple check stuff. Funny sometimes what you find the third check. Just like stuff you can't quite get in your head at the end of a long day, the next morning is a simple solution. Nice work and great information on building any car.
I have watched the other u tubers do this mod. None have showed this detail. Learned a lot from this video. Thanks for teaching the right way to do it.
Thanks man just listening to you and watching how you modify and support is teaching me a lot. I have a 74 Camaro that I've been working on for a couple years. I know I can't get on it too hard because everybody says you'll twist it so I want to put a real cage in itand frame rails. I cut out the floor plan to drop in the fuel cell. It already had a big old rust hole in it after watching this I'm going to modify it strengthen it up. Thanks again.
I know it adds a lot for you to video all of this in so much detail but man I sure do love it! Dont forget me on that quarter to trunk drop off connection! 🤪
Excellent work! I'm a Pontiac guy myself. I really enjoy seeing the cars being brought back to life no matter the brand. Thanks for taking the time to do these videos with the detailed sequences and processes.
This video shows the importance of having the body squared up on a fixed jig , then everything can be built working from a level to be certain everything is square. Very nice work Rick, indeed
Thanks for sharing, love your videos, I have a 67 Camaro so this is right up my alley. I love how thorough you are, it definitely helps me, can't wait for the quarters and roof panel installation, thanks bud, Merry Christmas
Thanks for watching and the comment I really appreciate it! Good luck on your build and hopefully I will be putting the quarter panel video out soon. Waiting on 1 part currently but I am in the process of hopefully test fitting them this week.
No, getting to the fuel pump is the main reason but if you think how much trouble it would be to have to drain the tank and drop it when you do need to get to it, but to each his own, not really necessary .
Cool thanks, I think I might leave that out hopefully banking if I do an in tank pump it doesn't mess up. Famous last words and I might regret that decision down the road
Thanks a lot for watching this one, the whole shop is full of mostly mopars. I will put another video build on a Mopar soon, just looking for the right one to work on to get the most out of the time it takes to edit and film the videos.
Nice job! I did all these installs on my 68 Camaro after the quarters and the way you are doing it looks way better, easier access. I’m about to do the fuel pump access panel that Detroit Speed has that is also high quality , that would also be easier for you before you close those in those quarters, great planning , looking forward to your next videos.
I don't think I am going to add the fuel pump access panel. Is there a reason you need the fuel pump access panel besides to access to it without dropping the fuel tank? Do you plan on accessing the fuel pump that much? I see a lot of guys installing them but I figured I don't think I need that.
you have some great content for DIY guys trying to do real restoration. The problem is, that your subscriptions are really low, even after many projects and massive amounts of recorded footage. So the solution is to put together a single car start to finish restoration video. Take all the footage from one car and only put the work bits on, no talking, and just let the work do the talking. If you don't have time to do it, find someone who can. The results have been great on other work-based channels. All timelapse is great. It is pure entertainment for the guys that just want the satisfaction without all the detailed descriptions. One or two of those videos and you will see a jump in views and subs.
Thanks a lot and you are 100% right on your advice. I will try and maybe take some time and try that on one of the projects in the shop that I don't plan on doing a full build on in detail. I do mostly focus on just the guys building themselves and the entertainment value for others is hard to follow. Thank you for the feedback and advice!
Thanks a lot, I am in Carthage North Carolina. I usually don't discuss hours out in the public. If you were interested in talking offline feel free to email me at carthageclassiccars@gmail.com
You mentioned you do some racing but holy crap... you're building a 9" from scratch? I'd say you're pretty hard core. Do you have your son driving quarter midgets yet?
If the car is backhalfed and no stock floor, if you wanted the detroit speed quadralink I would recommend putting in the factory floor, frame rails and everything else back in the car. If you don't do that I would stick with the back half 4 link assuming thats already in the car.
Haha thanks, you are really trying to sell me on the trans am clone. I will say it will not be white but besides that you might be able to see mostly trans am stuff in it.

Thank you so much for subscribing and everything you have shared is great dive I will try and remember it. Good luck with the rest of your 68 build!
That was the perfect time to do a camaro conversion
Well surprisingly enough there a few people that actually like the firebird better and I am one of those.
@ you are right on that, very few
Supporting the channel
Thank you very much!
NICE work. I like this firebird series.
Thank you!
Awesomeness!! The beauty of this build is its visually documented and nothing is skimped on. I think the value of the car when finished will be up there too. Thanks Rick.
You welcome also thanks again for watching and following along!
Great work, excellent video! 🔥👍👌🔥👍👌
Thank you very much!
Paint it Crystal Turquoise Poly and I'll be crying. That was the color of mine that I ordered in the fall of 69. Wish I could afford this one.
That is a really nice looking color
@@carthageclassiccars If I'm not mistaken, that color was only available on the Firebird. Possibly the GTO.

Thank you that is a very good point. I appreciate the feedback
love any kind of fabrication on cars rust repair etc You take the time to go in to detail on the process not just the result thank you for that
You are welcome, thanks for watching and the feedback!
Absolutely beautiful! You my friend are Picasso. Thanks for sharing.
You are welcome, thanks for the comment!
Glad to see another video Rick, have been keeping an eye out for another one lol. Nice work!

You're welcome, good luck on the Camaro build they are awesome cars for sure.
@@carthageclassiccars thanks you taught me how to look outside the box for sure on this
I know it adds a lot for you to video all of this in so much detail but man I sure do love it! Dont forget me on that quarter to trunk drop off connection! 🤪
Thanks and yes that should be the next video or two ill try and really focus on that section a little more.
Great build and components.
Thank you!
👍 Good to see an old bird get some love. Kinda like the redheaded step child of the fbody.
They are I agree and I think thats what help draw me into them.
Nice job ....and attention to detail....good content....thanks.
You are welcome, thanks for the feedback!
Rick, love the channel! I installed the DSE quadralink rear on my ‘69 Firebird build. 👍
Thank you, how did you like the full kit once it was finished? Have you driven it? How did it ride and handle?
This is my favorite car
Awesome thanks for watching!
Love your attention to detail bro!
Thanks a lot!
Awesome job, looks factory, God bless
Thank you god bless your family also!

I enjoy all of your videos, but this is a nice change of pace. I really look forward to the custom fabricated 9 inch rear axle.
Thanks, I am excited about that also. Not going to lie it will be my first full fabricated rear so we can work through it together.
Great informative video! RESPECT!
Thank you!

Nicely done.

Great job, enjoy the video. Looking forward to the next phase.
Thanks for hanging out tonight and watching!
Excellent job. I am a Mopar guy but your videos are very educational no matter what brand you are working on. Thanks for sharing.

Need to come check y’all out, I’m in Sanford.
sounds like a plan!
Amazing work brother. How many hrs would this take? Where state are you out of?

haha thanks a lot and with my son racing trying to work on convincing his mother on letting him do it at this age. She is stuck on 18 at this point

Sanford, Fl?
NC
Don't cover the welds, you do awesome work
Thank you, I have been going back and forth on that decision but still have some more time before I do decide.
Killer , looks factory . If your not going original, then I smell Trans am clone. 😊
