your candle videos are so helpful! I had been burning my candles the wrong way for YEARS and thanks to your tips my candles have lasted me alot longer!!
I agree, i love candles! Lighting candles at night while reading a book=perfect night for me. I just adore nights when i am able to read with a good smelling candle in my room.
To get the full burning time out of your candle you can buy candle wicks online, then tie a heavy metal washer at the bottom, measure it against your candles container then tie a pencil or some other long object to it. Then using a sauce pan filled with water to the height of your wax, place the candle in the water and heat it until all the wax has melted, turn off the heat, dip the wick in the wax, and balancing the pencil on top leave to solidify, once solid trim your wick and use your candle
Elle- For the candles that you've messed up (and particularly the ones you just really like and want to last longer), you really should get a candle warmer! Using the warmer, you still release the scent of the candle, but there's no smoke. You usually can't reuse it for burning after that though (maybe with a new wick?), and should take out the old wicks so they don't get lost deep down. It looks like Candles by Victoria has them on the site in lots of colors (just remove the dish).
A warmer is a electric hot plate basically that you put your glass candles on and it melts without a flame. There are also tart earners which is what she was talking about. Those have a lil bowl that you put the tart on and it melts down once the warmer is plugged in and turned on.
The first burn is super important, but for those of you that don't want to burn all the wicks in a candle with multiple wicks, make sure to light each one in a cycle, so you are not burning a pit by relighting the same wick over and over. You just want to make sure that you melt it down as evenly as possible.
Have you ever tried a Scentsy candle? My friend sells them and they are amazing. They have beautiful warmers and the scents are much better than regular candles. The best part is no flame is required so you can keep it in your dorm. I know their is a glade equivalent but it is not the same.
your candle isn't ruined because of it's uneven. Just put it in a sauce pan with water (just enough to cover the unburned stearin). heat it slowly just so the water gets warm and your stearin will melt to the bottom of the candle jar making it even. If you loose the wicks you can accually get at any craft store and put them in yourself!!
Elle you can buy a candle warmer to where if you have a ruined candle with a whole bunch of wax left over, all you do is plug in the warmer and place the entire candle on it and it allows you to keep smelling that candle.
You can take that candle that never burned all the way down and place it in a pot of simmering water on a very low heat. It will scent your home just like a burning one will but it doesn't look quite as nice. Or get one of those "flameless burners", they look like little round coffee cup warmers.
Remelt the candle into a new one with a custom wick! Or instead you could melt the wax down (without the wick) and use it in one of those dishes with two parts! A wax burner, I think they're called. There's the lower section where you put the tea light and the upper caved in-like section where you put the wax. The tea light melts this and the aroma will fill the area or room just like a regular candle. :)
I love candles too, they're so expensive though! My favorite scent is cinnamon so I usually just fill an old, disposable pie tin w/ water, add some cinnamon & then put it over VERY low heat on the stove & let it fill my house with Autumn goodness! Everyone always asks what candle I'm burning!! My Mom, who did this when I was younger, used to add slices of oranges or apples or switch out the cinnamon for nutmeg, clove or pumpkin pie spice, there are so many different ways to do it! Try it out!
Hey I don't know if you'll see this or not, but I recently got this candle thing from yankee where you can buy three small candles and put them in this clover like jar and the smells all come together to make a new smell.....I love this and use it every night in my room I thought you might want to try it....
If you get a candle warmer that plugs in an outlet, you can still use the candles that you can't light anymore. It's like a coffee cup warmer but for candles. They have them at Bed Bath & Beyond.
Elle, if you get a candle warmer (like a hot plate)... from walmart of somewhere, you will still be able to burn your candle. I have one and they work great!
One of my cats was sitting on my lap whilst I watched this video and was pawing the screen - I then noticed she was pawing where Pinecone is! So cute! x
I love candles! My mom and I are obsessed with them that there is at least two in each room in our house! I showed my mom this video and she is thinking about getting the candles that you showed in this video! Thanks a lot Elle!
blair, if you have a gas or wood stove, you can put the candle on the stove and it will heat up the wax to finish off the candles that wont burn any longer. we have a "fake" fireplace that runs on gas and it works perfectly to burn the ends of all the candles :)
just have to say i have been loving your videos. your voice is so relaxing and easy to listen to, you look gorgeous and your room looks like a dream :)
Oh wow...I think I know what I'm getting some of my friends for Christmas! Those Diamond candles are really awesome. Thats a fantastic Christmas gift idea :D
Just a little tip: If you have a candle that doesn't burn smoothly and it's from BBW you can always exchange them for free! 100% happy or your money back on every BBW products!
Elle I just wanted to say how much i enjoy your videos and i am sure you wont even see this but you are my favorite person on You Tube to watch and I had a bad day today but watching this vid completely cheered me up. Thank you so much:)
I loved this video. I'm really happy you reviewed candles of a woman running what looks like a small business from her website. I hope she gets a lot of customers because of this! I might buy some as Christmas gifts.
thankyou for introducing me to the diamond candles... i think i might be obsessed until i finally get one!!!!!! eeeee and ALL the rings look really lovely.
Just wondering if you have tried added boiling water to candles that have ended up burning unevenly. If you haven't boil water in your kettle and add just enough to the jar that the water covers all of the wax. It will release sent from the melted wax - which gives you a little more "burning time" lol ... then you can do this a couple more times, once the wax has cooled and hardened again! Maybe you know this already, but just a tip ;) Jenny
The candle memory can be a good thing. For example, novelty candles, if you only burn a small bit of it, then you can keep the shape but still be able to burn the candle.
when there messed up candles like that after youeve started burning it and it gets liquid at the top layer from being burned you can take a butter knife a just gently push down the wax caked up the sides so when it get cooled off later on itll remold into a better circle from nicer burning
I dont know if there is something different about your lip gloss, but i love that shade on you. It really goes well with your skin tone! Where did you get it?
@xCarolynnnnn I meant why would they give rings that cost more than the candle itself. I don't think that inside the candle there's rings that are worth soo much money. I can understand a ring inside the candle being worth $10 but Elle said that there's $5 $10 $20 $50 $100 and over. That's just crazy to me. Doesn't make sense.
Wow a ring in a candle?? Very innovative!! But really I would by them just for the sent! I love sweet smelling candles, and they're pretty decently sized too for the price, especially if they're natural. Thanks Elle! :D
thank you for the coupon codes! and i LOVE this haul (= aha you got me in love with candles when i first started watching your videos years ago. my room is packed with em and i absolutely love it!
I was just wondering what makeup you were wearing then saw you had put it in the description box - so helpful, thank you!! And I now want to go out and buy a ton of candles lol
get a candle warmer for the candles that end up burning all of the wick before the wax is gone. they're cheap. i use it for the scent shots too. i just put the plastic cup on a metal lid that i got from another candle.
@kelseylately08 She isn't being paid for naming them in the video, but she did anyway, so they probably just gave her a code for the viewers if they wanted to purchase it. She's helping people get a deal on some of her favorite candles and they could use the free promotion....nothing really wrong with that.
You know, it's not a problem if the candle was messed up, you can reuse it by just melting the wax and then adding an appropriate thread and burning it again :) I used to do that, it's lots of fun and you don't waste that candle you love ;)
Just microwave it and the wax will just "reset" into a flat nice "new" candle...
your candle videos are so helpful! I had been burning my candles the wrong way for YEARS and thanks to your tips my candles have lasted me alot longer!!
I agree, i love candles! Lighting candles at night while reading a book=perfect night for me. I just adore nights when i am able to read with a good smelling candle in my room.
I could listen to you talk about candles for hours haha your voice is so soothing!

i so love that your videos are not limited to makeup! you're like my inspiration for having a nice interior design, candles, etc. amazing!
Omg she's like perfect. Her room is amazing, hair is perfect, and her make up is beautiful!
you used to say you are not good at describing scents, but now, you actually did a great job!!
Elle- For the candles that you've messed up (and particularly the ones you just really like and want to last longer), you really should get a candle warmer! I love you Elle I think it's amazing how you talk positively about all these products and you ask for nothing in return!(:
I love how consistent you've been with your videos lately! Love you elle!(:

i love how pinecone matches your room, hes always camoflaged and his pink nose and blue eyes give him away!

@DiamondCandles Thanks for the response! I appreciate a company being so interactive.
@SweetMissVee Actually it is sponsored. Some of the candles, the gemstone ones, were given to her.
@praslisa actually, blair said she approves them because since younger people watch her video, she doesn't want rude comments that have swear words.
Elle you can buy a candle warmer to where if you have a ruined candle with a whole bunch of wax left over, all you do is plug in the warmer and place the entire candle on it and it allows you to keep smelling that candle.
I ♥ candles too...and I really enjoy every time you have a candle haul, FYI. :)
You can take that candle that never burned all the way down and place it in a pot of simmering water on a very low heat. It will scent your home just like a burning one will but it doesn't look quite as nice. Or get one of those "flameless burners", they look like little round coffee cup warmers.
pinecone is literally the cutest kitten i have ever seen. omg :)
I loove candles! The smell and everything, they are just cozy!
Remelt the candle into a new one with a custom wick!

Diamond Candles is SUCH a cool and unique idea! An easy gift idea for sure! Thanks for passing it on!
I love candles too, they're so expensive though! Elle, I swear there is nothing "spiced" or "pumpkin" that you don't like! You are so adorable!
Pinecone back there behind you is just melting my heart!
I love this idea of the ring in the candle ! It's like a luxurious surprise
One of my cats was sitting on my lap whilst I watched this video and was pawing the screen - I then noticed she was pawing where Pinecone is! So cute! x
When you describe candles like that, it makes me want to buy soooo many candles.
I just ordered one for my mom for her birthday!! I had no idea what to get her and this is perfect!! Thanks Elle!!
You look so amazingly gorgeous in this video. Your hair, makeup, earrings, shirt, and your background. Everything is completely perfect!
OMG THANK YOU FOR PUTTING YOUR MAKEUP IN THE DESCRIPTION LOVE IT
I love candles! My mom and I are obsessed with them that there is at least two in each room in our house! I showed my mom this video and she is thinking about getting the candles that you showed in this video! Thanks a lot Elle!
I put my candles that can't burn anymore on my warmer. It's amazing how much burn time you can get when doing that.

100% happy or your money back on every BBW products!
Where is the ring hiding in the candle when you burn it? Is it in the middle, or do you have to burn it all the way to find the ring?
The diamond candle reminds me of those soaps you can buy with money inside of them! I've always wanted to try something like that!
Elle I just wanted to say how much i enjoy your videos and i am sure you wont even see this but you are my favorite person on You Tube to watch and I had a bad day today but watching this vid completely cheered me up. Thank you so much:)
I love the way you describe scents. It's like a bedtime story lol :)
I loved this video. I'm really happy you reviewed candles of a woman running what looks like a small business from her website. I hope she gets a lot of customers because of this! I might buy some as Christmas gifts.
You should write a book because you explained candles so well. I love candles too!
YOU HAVE BEEN LOOKING ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS IN ALL OF YOUR VIDEOS LATELY OMG
thankyou for introducing me to the diamond candles... i think i might be obsessed until i finally get one!!!!!! eeeee and ALL the rings look really lovely.
My candles always end up with loads of wax left on the sides. Yours didn't have that. Did you scrape it of?

I LOVE YOUR HAIR AND MAEUP AND OUTIFT IN THIS VID! everything just looks so fresh! :)
Just wondering if you have tried added boiling water to candles that have ended up burning unevenly.

The candle memory can be a good thing. For example, novelty candles, if you only burn a small bit of it, then you can keep the shape but still be able to burn the candle.
Makeeup tutorial please! Love the looks you've been wearing recently, perfectly subtle but look so glamourous!
when there messed up candles like that after youeve started burning it and it gets liquid at the top layer from being burned you can take a butter knife a just gently push down the wax caked up the sides so when it get cooled off later on itll remold into a better circle from nicer burning

oh my goodness...these candles look amazing!!!! thanks elle!! perfect for christmas gifts!
I love to see that someone which is one of my favorite beauty guru on youtube LOVES candles like I do!
@TheDanger0uz the smoke produced is actually carbon dioxide. unless some candles have chemicals in their wicks or wax. but CBV candles are fine.
The diamond candle thing is the coolest idea!!
even the cat is colour coordinated to you and your room! so pretty
I love when you stop talk, smell the candle, and then discribe the smell :)
@DiamondCandles I have a question about the rings, I see the candles are $25, so don't you guys lose money if you put $100+ rings in there?
also it says their fall scents.. maybe thats it.
@CreamStar100 but...... it's not sponsored??
are you kidding us? those gemstones candles are AMAZING!
Have you ever tried candles by Voluspa or Tocca? I think you'd like them a lot and they have really pretty packaging.
I just have a Question. When you buy 1 of the candles. Is the Ring Just a random amount? Do you have to pay more for the ring thats worth more?
Bath and Body Works candles were 2 for 30 this weekend may still be that. I don't know when the sale ends. I got two Christmas scents.
The Diamond candles are such a cute idea! And Elle your room is so chic, I love looking at it haha
I dont know if there is something different about your lip gloss, but i love that shade on you. It really goes well with your skin tone! Where did you get it?

I didn't know the "first burn" memory thing. I had never thought of it that way.
