KEY TAKEAWAYS FROM SOFIA’S PREGNANCY JOURNEY:
»Don’t Hesitate to Call Your Doctor: Many women feel embarrassed or don’t want to “bother” their doctor. If you are feeling bad or notice other changes in your body, call your doctor. When you think you feel something, say something. If something feels off, speak up!
»Preterm Labor Is Unpredictable: It can happen for many reasons, including stress, infection, or unknown factors. The critical decision is to contact your doctor immediately if you go into preterm labor.
»The Goal in Premature Births: Extending the pregnancy just one week at a time can be critical for a baby’s lung development. Bed rest is essential! Set a goal of one week at a time.
»Postpartum Preeclampsia Is a Serious Risk: It can strike any time after 20 weeks, even after delivery. This is a dangerous condition that can put you at risk for a seizure or stroke. Don’t wait until you have obvious symptoms, as preeclampsia does not always present that way. Seek medical care if you aren’t feeling well.
»Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) Can Be Misdiagnosed. Here Are Just A Few Symptoms To Look For: You don’t need to have them all, but irregular periods, elevated testosterone symptoms, acne, hair loss, mood disorder, anxiety, depression, or fertility issues could point to PCOS. Get checked!

Sofia has such a calming voice 🤎.
so true
Sofia Richie seems Like the Most genuine, sweet and Nice person. I just wish her the best ❤
Shes literally a zionist
Watching this video has made me to start praying for a good gynaecologist. This Dr is amazing, she cares for her patients.
We love hearing this! Dr. A's mission is to provide every woman the tools and resources they need to be their own advocate. So if women can't access her, they can take this information to their healthcare provider. Thank you for listening!
Health issues don't discriminate. It's nice to hear someone so young with so many resources and who takes care of her body share her experience having PCOS and pregnancy complications.
Sophia is so mature and intelligent- I love the way she expresses herself
Anyone else notice at 16 minutes when Sofia talks about love and how it can change life the leaves start falling behind her… so magical ✨
She is magical! Thank you for watching
I am a patient of Dr. Aliabadi and have PCOS and she has completely changed my life in the last year. Love her so much and love Sofia for being so vulnerable and open ❤
Thank you for watching!
Every OBGYN needs to listen to Dr. A. 9/10 times women are completely dismissed and put on birth control without any further investigation. I wish every woman had access to a doctor like this woman!
literally sending these to my OB LOL
@ 😂 fr
I can really relate to when Sofia said enjoy been pregnant and sharing that space with your child before having to share her with the world I miss having my baby girl just me and her it’s magical
Thanks so much for this episode. I had the exact same experience as Sofia, from the pcos diagnosis all the way to post partum pre eclampsia. It’s great you guys can shed light on this
I just wish i could have a doctor so caring like dr Thais! Been experiencing a bunch of issues with inflamation, pains, acne and weight disorders and doctors really don't care. Im at a point where i don't want to go see any doctor and just let my body be, but i know is not right. Is a really frustrating experience :(
Love the light that you always bring to differente topics on womens health, im really gratefull for this space💖
We are so sorry to hear that you are struggling and being dismissed. Dr. Aliabadi just launched Ovii, @oviihealth on Instagram. This is a PCOS platform & supplement for PCOS symptoms. Head there to take her online PCOS Assessment test to find out your likelihood of having PCOS. She is here to help x
This was such a great podcast. I too have PCOS and had postpartum preeclampsia which I didn’t know was a thing until it happened to me. I love that Sofia said to stop and enjoy your pregnancy because it is the only time we get to share one space with our babies. That made me tear up.
We are so happy to hear you connected with this episode. Thank you for sharing your story and making other women not feel alone. x
I'm so happy Sofia opened up with her struggles and the incredible support she got...
I too have PCOS and everything I have experienced just makes sense. I love finding out "oh that is why I have this happens to me".
So happy you found that "oh thats why" moment. Life-changing and empowering. We are so happy for you! Dr. Aliabadi just launched a PCOS platform and supplement. Join her community @oviihealth on instagram and share your story!
I’m pregnant and I love Sophia this is gold ❤
Thank you for listening! xx
You’re not alone. Like Sophia, there are many things that need to be looked at with pregnancy and women’s health-like PCOS because it’s too much testosterone or cystic acne or other forms of acne, or insulin resistance. Finding a doctor who will listen is the hardest but when you find a good one-keep that doctor!
Yes! It’s so important to advocate for yourself and find a physician that also advocates for you - wishing you the best 🤍
I would've loved that Dr Thais shared other options that are also available asides from the pill. Depending on each case, the pill might not be the best option. There are natural ways to treat the symptoms as well. It would be incredibly helpful for other patients that have already tried the pill, feel and know that there are other solutions out there. Thanks for this episode and raising awareness!
Yes, everybody is different! She will be releasing some content soon discussing the natural ways to assist as well. Follow her for more info! Thank you for listening!
What an inspiring Dr❤ love her ❤
i love this. thank you for talking about these things which used to be so stigmatised and promoting the dialogue about women's health which is shockingly under-researched and neglected
Thank you for tuning in!❤️
@@SHEMDPodcast you should discuss the research on the active ingredient in viagra (sildenafil) and its potential as a pain relief for dysmenorrhea - but in clinical trials of course males made up most of the test subjects and the effects on them were observed... (another side effect of the gender medical data gap)
"Why" "she will tell you why" I wish all doctors empowered their patients like this 😭
I've started following this channel after the episodes with Halsey. I love this episode, too! So grateful for every bit of knowledge being shared here!
OMG! The high BP was my same story...luckily my BP started going up 5 hours postpartum. I ended up having to go on magnesium(yuck) and stayed in the hospital 5 days total. The good part was that my sweet little baby boy got to stay in the hospital with me. What an experience though...never thought pre eclampsia could happen after delivery!!
So scary! We are so happy to hear you and your baby were healthy and safe. Sending love x
Omgosh! I love her doctor. So sweet ! We need more doctors like her
I had three miscarriages, then we found out I had PCOS and my Dr put me on metformin and I immediately got pregnant with my son.
This is so incredible! Congratulations. Sending you love.
Great podcast...
Thank you Sofia for sharing!
I was just diagnosed with PCOS
I will be subscribing

She is just SUCH a doll
I had pre-e hit at 40 weeks. My BP was 190 at my last appointment. Induced, long labor, then BP too high to push, and c-section. I was then readmitted two times after my first release. I spent about 9 days in the hospital in total. I believe about 4 of the days were on Mag. My doctor had me on 5 BP pills a day for about 3 months. I ended up with severe post partum depression due to it all. I’m terrified to have another since it all happened with my first. She is my absolute greatest blessing.
Never would any doctor here allow texts or send a nurse to my home. Having that kind of relationship would make the process a little easier.
I’m so sorry to hear you went through that! Sending you so much love🤍
Amazing episode! Thank you for sharing your story, Sofia. Dr. Thais and Mary this is such an incredible thing you are doing for women and starting more conversations that need to be had!
Please do a podcast on IVF, especially with someone who has had failed transfers .
Love Sofia!!! Thank you for this informative podcast. Such important conversations to have
Sofia is incredible!!! Thank you for giving us the opportunity to know her more ❤️
Watching this made me go get a full body checkup
I loved this special interview. We love you Sofia! I’m 26 now, and how inspiring you are🤍
I've had PCOS since I was in middle school and have been on birth control, spironolactone, etc. which helped a little. but..Mounjaro did wonders for my PCOS!! It lowered my testosterone, helped weight loss, no acne...all from addressing the root cause of insulin resistance!
Also inositol powder was sooo helpful as well!!!
We love to hear this! SO happy you found what works for you and are feeling healthy & happy. Dr. A just launched a PCOS platform and supplement called, Ovii @oviihealth on instagram, join her community connect and share your story! x
What a great podcast! Loved it! Subscribed ❤
Thank you so much for watching! Happy Thanksgiving ❤️
This episode made me feel validated. My doctor is not taking me serious when I come to her with how I feel 🙁
I loved this episode! Such caring and insightful doctors. ❤️
Thank you for watching!
Such a good podcast 🙌🏼 I live in the UK and have suffered with PCOS since puberty, I’ve never been treated. I have high levels of testosterone, acne and anxiety. I was getting pains in my stomach so went for a private MRI which showed cysts on my ovaries. I went back to the NHS doctors and they didn’t really explain anything to me, they gave me a leaflet and told me to exercise and eat dark chocolate 😩 I just wish their was more education and monitoring, in the UK you never go back to the same doctor so it’s hard
What an amazing podcast love sofia she is so elegant ❤❤
She one of the most beautiful women ever… love her ❤
Beautiful inside & out!
Would love to see an episode on adenomyosis vs endo
We will pass this to our team! x
The best podcast ever !!!❤️🩹
Thank you so much for listening!🤍
I wish more people would talk about postpartum complications. I have PCOS and at the time I had a bicornuate uterus. With my first daughter I needed an emergency D&C nine days postpartum because I had a retained placenta. Twelve years later with my second daughter I had another D&C with a retained placenta but it was done right after her birth.
I love Sofia! She’s so gracious. Please do more podcasts
Sofia is the best human
Jesus is the best human.
Great show ladies

PCOS Conversation - 26:17
It sounds like what Sofia experienced 32 weeks into her pregnancy is prodromal labor. I had that with both my sons. I was induced with my first at 39.5 weeks, and ended up giving birth on the couch (unplanned) with my second at 41 weeks 😅
You are superwoman! Good job mama!
Can u do an episode on DOR?
We'll make note of it! Thank you for watching
I Have PCOS And I Am Still Learning How To Navigate It
It can be so challenging to navigate PCOS. Dr. Aliabadi is a PCOS expert and did a full episode on it with Gracie Norton! Give it a listen, I think you will really enjoy it! She also just started Ovii, @oviihealth on instagram. It is a PCOS Supplement that will change women's lives. Thank you for listening!
Preeclampsia is so scary I had it with both my kids and doctors would not listen to me. Could’ve lost my life or my kids❤
Doctors really love dismissing people and i will never get why
We are so sorry to hear you were dismissed. It is so scary and healthcare needs to start listening to women! We are so happy you and your kids are safe. x
Hi doctor I got off birth control.. I had my first period without the birth control and my period was light and short mind you Im 36 … I’m trying to conceive… do you have any advice ❤❤❤
What is the powder that she is talking about?
Hi! She is referring to Dr. Aliabadi’s new PCOS supplement, Ovii - learn more at ovii.com 🤍
😂😂😂😂 watching the baby and the baby nurse.
I just got diagnosed with PCOS a few weeks ago. I’ve been getting acne on my back and buttocks. Is that part of the symptoms? Or is only facial acne related to PCOS?
Hi! Yes, body acne is a symptom of PCOS. Dr. Aliabadi recently created a PCOS platform & supplement, @oviihealth - be sure to check it out
Dr. Thais Aliabadi is also the Kardashians Dr?❤
Yes! We have had them on SHE MD, such amazing episodes!
What is the powder she was talking about?
Hi! She is referring to Dr. Aliabadi's new PCOS supplement, Ovii. Learn more at ovii.com or @oviihealth on social media :)
I liked the interview but this podcast is over saturated with ads makes me not want to subscribe
Thank you for the feedback! We’re working to find a good balance. Thank you for watching🤍
I have PCOS and hypothyroidism and im on metforin and I still have so many questions that I feel like my doctor don’t answer.
So sorry to hear you’re struggling! We love to hear this! Dr. A just launched a PCOS platform and supplement called, Ovii @oviihealth on instagram, join her community connect and share your story! x
Birth control is NOT the answer
Everyone is different! Consult with your doctor on the best option for you. x
Birth control just suppresses the symptoms and doesn’t treat the root cause.. the root cause for hormones is the liver, women need to do a liver gallbladder flush and flush out toxins, mucoid plaque and parasites that are disrupting hormones in the first place.
Yes, birth control just supresses symptoms and doesn't address the root cause. The root cause is hormonal imbalance and for that we look to the liver. I recommend the zencleanz liver and gallbladder flush to clean up the toxins also another thing to clean up is processed food in your diet and also toxic household and personal care products that contain endocrine disrupting chemicals and switch these out with natural solutions, an easy way to do that is to grab a wholesale account with Doterra where you can order deodorant, laundry, perfume, diffuser, supplements, nutrition, dishwasher powder, shampoo, medicinal oils etc the list goes on and make clean swaps with one shop
Spot on!! @@indianajones4016
"we were actively trying to get pregnant" tmi...😭
My period is irregular and weight is all over as well so I think I might have pcos
These are 2 very common symptoms. Dr. Aliabadi just launched Ovii, @oviihealth on instagram. It is a PCOS platform + supplement. Join her community to take her online PCOS Assesment to find our your likelihood of having PCOS.
Why cant we get it in europe?
Dr. Aliabadi and the Ovii team are working hard to make this possible! She just launched, so there are many great things coming!
She's lucky she comes from privilege. I gave birth at the same hospital and didn't have this type of experience at all. Felt like I kept going into labor too and they said to go home and just 'surrender' to being pregnant.
Where does the pcos come from?
Dr. Aliabadi started a PCOS platform called Ovii where you can learn more about PCOS! You can find it on instagram as @oviihealth!
Wish i could afford a night nurse….. 😢
no working 60 hours a week as a single mom is the hardest job in the world.
Yes it is! Being a mom is the hardest job on the planet. You are amazing.
Sofia Richie is meghan markle with blonde hair. They look so similar
So beautiful!
I don’t like when people say “if men…”
It pits us against each other. Men have things that go undiagnosed too. Not everything has to do with the patriarchy.
the wedding was 90 percent family 10 percent friends but you gynecologist was there...? I don't believe it sorry haha
now I want Dr. Thais Aliabadi as my doctor but I bet she only sees celebs or millionaires 🥲
Unfortunately. her practice is not affordable for vast majority of Americans, but the podcast is very educational and it’s great that hosts are offering this cost free form of information exchange.
She is truly amazing. And the greatest thing about her is that she wants to arm every woman in this world with the tools, knowledge and resources to be their own advocate. She provides free knowledge to empower women. Thank you for listening! x
sofia looks so nice, i want her to be my best friend 😂🫶🏻
