I currently own an iPad 10th Gen with the USB-C Apple Pencil and it’s a lot nicer than the 1st Gen. I don’t use pressure sensitivity a lot so I wasn’t really bothered, but this pencil is a lot easier to hold and I like how it attaches to the side of the iPad.

Thanks for this. I was wondering which pencil would be best for the 10th gen iPad. I’m guessing you only have to pair it once and then it’s paired forever and charges on the side?

Update: I did it. I picked up the 12.9in M1, 1 processor (8) cores, with 256GB Storage, for $801. Keep in mind I'm coming from a 1st gen 12.9in running the A9X, 1 processor (2) cores 128GB storage. And I topped out at IOS 16. At the end of the day, this is massive upgrade for me and fits in my budget.

(Before you come at me lol), I have been an andriod gal for all my life really and never had Apple before. Im getting my first Apple product which is the iPad 10th gen on Tuesday and excited for it. Im most likely going to go with the USB-C because I dont have to have pressure sensitivity and really only for note taking. Plus it is the cheapest one than the 1st generation ( Im broke as it is) plus I do tend to "misplace" things easily 😂😂

Hello, I am in a similar situation as I am also an android gal and have been my whole life and I am also getting my first ipad soon and have been wondering which model to get and if i should go for the apple pencil (if I do i will probably go for the USB-C because its cheaper and I dont use pressure sensitivity either) or just a stylus. Could I just ask are you happy with the ipad you have now and if you bought the USB-C how that is aswell? What features do you use on the apple pencil and which ones do you think are the most useful or will just a stylus be my best bet? Since I have no experience with apple products whatsoever I don't know which model or generation to get (I will probably mostly use it for digital art and note taking also) so any info on your experience will be greatly appreciated! Sorry for the rant I just want to know if i'm buying the right thing and i'm too broke to buy something expensive with features that Im just not going to use :(

My old iPad Pro 2017 is still holding out well, except when it comes to stupid layer limits in Procreate. And when it comes to what I’m using it for, that’s kind of a big issue.
I was waiting for the new iPad Pro but everything surrounding the reveal was very disappointing- the price increase, stupid iPadOS updates with pride wallpapers (as opposed to actually needed things like Calculator app 😂), price increase on new models, then that idiotic ad disrespectful to creators… Im at the point where I don’t want to be part of Apple ecosystem anymore.
No idea on where I’m moving to, though. As long as my iPad Pro is working, it’s going to be my main machine for art. Once it stops, I will have to do some research…

It will be interesting to see if this new Pencil Pro is beneficial in Procreate. I know that the 2nd gen pencil is annoying with that tap feature. You have to turn it off. You give the impression that the USB-C needs to be connected all the time to function, but surely, along with the 1st and 2nd Gen pencils you can charge it where ever you like and not necessarily by connecting it to the iPad. With that in mind surely all these can be used with any iPad, or am I missing something?

@@JamesJulier-Artist James, Understand that. I was specifically asking about charging, and also making that point that your description in the video makes it sound as though the cable has to be connected all the time it is in use. Most compatible pens I have researched need no 'pairing ' at all so I'll probably going in that direction and giving Apple a miss this time.
