Soldering the main leads off the battery separately then spot welding it onto the battery is so genius I definitely wouldn't have thought of it.

Man, I just found your vidia on a Hackday googling for 18650 stuffs.
All the vids and articles Ive looked at, yours was the best I found, its not much different from the rest, but your approach to sharing knowledge while doing the actual work, not stopping to explain stuffs Ill forget in two seconds, whenever this happens I find myself skipping back and forth trying to find information I just heard but couldn't see because some smuch thought his face would be more informational????
But you, youre just doing and talking.
Serving just the right amount of visual and auditory information.
God dammit you deserve an Oscar for best informational video
This vid should be the gold standard of tutorials, or any informational video.
Someone give this man a medal

Great video not sure I want to spend that much on an on off switch I will stick with an anti spark plug and a cheap switch..
First time I've seen a pack built with all 4 batteries the same group usually there +-+- all the way through got's me rethinking my setup..

One should make absolutely sure (by using hot glue or silicone) that all the cables are properly stress relieved. Soldered fine wire connections are really bad strain point and any movement in the wire will cause premature failure over time to that connection.

Even if the pack's and charger's management circuitry will eventually equalise the charge on each cell, would it not be desirable to precisely match their SoC before assembly? Cheap capacity tester boards are available that can be used to do this to within less than 1% (and of course actually ascertain their capacity to similar accuracy - a simple voltage reading doesn't really tell you this).

Do you have any certain value for the discharge rate of the system?

What is the base copper foil thickness and characteristics, are only ED copper foils used, can RA copper foils be also used, just curious whether RA copper foils are also used in making the anode current collectors : Thanks

“Should read somewhere in the 3 to 4 volt range, if it reads anything else it’s a bad cell” is dangerously incorrect information.
Good cells can be 1v and bad cells can be 4v, the voltage has nothing to do with cell health.
    They need to be tested...

A good cell will never sit at one volt. I personally wouldn't use anything below 3v. I agree a 4v cell could very well be bad though

You could solder the cells, but be careful with the heat, it will damage the cells
