    I did a shoot with a fire dancer recently and we did a lot of slomo shots. So i got to see firsthand how great the low light improvements are... and how NONE of them hold up when shooting in high frame rate mode. With the r8, you either get high frame rate OR you get low light performance, but you don't get both.

    After going through so much cons issues with the eos r8 will you still recommend the eos r8 if not what full frame camera will you recommend in this price point.

      If you are in the Canon system already and don't need to shoot alot of extended video clips (heat/battery), yes. At this point, I still think It's a great camera for light work. But not a workhorse. I'm still deciding for myself. I'm having a problem with mine though. making a video that will be up tomorrow.

    Hi friend, why can't I record at 120fps at 4K with the R8? Thanks

    I am really serious about using other lens (pentax k and m mount lenses) adapted to the R8 and your video has made me wonder if there will be any compatibility issues in getting a 100% functional camera... Thank you very much for your good content!

    You can record highg speed with EF glass, but not EF-S glass. I thinknthe 1080p from the R8 sensor is notably sharper than the average 1080p.

    C200 Cinnamon camera? Quick question - what SD card (capacity and V speed) did you use for this? I ask because I just picked up an R8, got a 32GB V90 card (300MB write) and it can't handle slowmo HD footage so it's disabled in the camera (although 4k60fps is fine?)! Others have said it works for them with a 64GB V60 card. After some research looks like SD cards may use a different filesystem at those two different capacities, and that may be the real issue, just looking for another data point. Having seen your last R8 video I'm really curious now if you were using the 512GB V30!

      I can't remember what size it was by all my SD cards are v30. I did hours of testing for this channel and never had an issue with the speed. Let me know if you get to the bottom of this.

      @@babybackmaniacleftovers Awesome, thanks for getting back to me. That gives me the confidence to chance a cheaper but higher capacity card in that case! I think the key difference is SDHC vs SDXC which seems related to capacity being >=64GB.... but will have to get back once I've tested it. 180fps was a feature I specifically wanted so it irked me!

    So how do you upload in 4k then when the slow mo parts can only be recorded in 1920x1080? Just scale it up in Premiere Pro? Never figured out how to do this properly 🫠

    • @babybackmaniacleftovers
      @babybackmaniacleftovers  Год назад +3

      Yep. I don't know how Premiere does but in Final Cut if you put it on a 4k timeline, it will scale up automatically. I'm would assume PP has something similar.
