After a perfect parkup and with the sun shining Harry our Ford Auto-Camper Campervan takes us to Saint-Vaast-La-Hogue where a walk around the fortification delivers a surprise. The walk allows you to make your own judgement on health and safety and delivers an exhilarating experience. This was followed by a fantastic lunch with Stews favourite Mussels. However confusion of parking signs leads to an unwanted warning. We finally find another stunning parkup but with the barn doors open Stew gets over confident and crashes Tom the drone !!!

I feel in lots of ways this country has got it wrong and I see that in other countries like this walk - what’s wrong with allowing ppl to go as long as you warn them and don’t get me started on parking fees and museum costs lol

Wow the wall walk around the tower is absolutely fantastic. I have took down the name for when we are in France next summer. Looks like a nice area for some fishing!
Yes it’s great although not so sure in high wind and rain lol - but a great place to- people were fishing down the walled walk way

The key when looking at size restriction signs are the two arrows, the sign here had arrows at 12 and 6 = Height, at 3 and 9 = Width.

Beautiful views with the drone. That path would have scared me, as ever since I had proper vertigo, my brain goes weird on narrow paths with drops or paths with something moving like water. It looks like a wonderful place though. Hope Harry has recovered from his accident. Stew is such a plank sometimes. 😂😂
I’ll take ‘sometimes’ lol - I think in windy stormy weather it could be quite a dangerous challenge … I am ok close down to the ground but high up I struggle a little

Maybe someone has already told you in the comments as I haven’t trolled through them all, but the trick for eating mussels is to use whatever (even fingers) to empty the first shell without breaking it, the you use it as tweezers to pull the flesh out of all the others😂
Now not tried that I heard of using one shell as a scoop

Great video folks and yes you read the parking notice on your windscreen correctly when you returned. Not sure what translator you use but there are great translation apps about. Main thing is you have a go and the French appreciate that. That moules frites looked amazing. Arrêté municipal means bylaw. Hope that helps.

3:49 p.m. it is clearly indicated that parking is prohibited for motorhomes
Yep realised that we initially (wrongly ) thought it was warning about a potential height barrier - obviously completely wrong so we pulled over quickly when we saw another van - the second sign at the end of the road towards the end of the video confused us to but reading comments on park4night say it was ok to park in the day and not overnight

The walk is advisory one way from what we saw but guess it’s up to you to navigate or knock them off lol 😂
