Ok, your channel is hilarious! I'm also studying Spanish, and had my first iTalki lesson about 10 days ago. I've had three different teachers. I have been meeting with a teacher from Colombia who doesn't speak English and I barely speak spanish, but it's so cool how we just sort of made the conversation work. It wasn't pretty, and she had to be super patient with me but I left the conversation feeling motivated to keep working hard.
Thanks so much for the comment, and that’s amazing !!!🤍 Super happy for you because I definitely know the feeling:) Best of luck with your Spanish studies!
@@claysoggyfries Not necessarily. Native spanish speaker just indicates that the person grew up with Spanish being spoken at their home/country. Since last year i've done 40 over lessons on Italki in my target language, all community tutors. I usually take 1-2 lessons per week max. That's because I believe it's important for me to internalise all the new expressions and vocabulary taught by my tutor before the next lesson, so I can use the words as practice for the next lesson, plus my tutor doesn't waste time correcting me about the same thing over and over again. I also teach on Italki and I tell my students this too. For those who are anxious about starting on Italki, don't worry and just go ahead to book your first lesson! Pretty sure 5 minutes into the lesson you'd have forgotten all that nervousness, unless the tutor is really bad (in which case you just find another tutor).
You were great!!! just a note, most Spanish speaking natives and instructors like to speak with English speakers willing to speak their language are for the most part and are very helpful and really appreciate the fact that you are interested in communicating with them in their native language. Keep it up, I'm considering becoming a community tutor to teach Spanish for English speakers. Buena suerte!

Your Spanish sounds good enough to have a conversation - you're doing great. I abuse the present perfect tense too. I really should open a grammar book.
Wow! By day 8, you are fluent en español! Felicidades! I registered iTalki a month ago and paid $20 already (and got $10 bonus credit). But I’m yet to be confident enough to use it. Maybe in another month. Ja ja ja
I have started learning Spanish a few years ago and like everyone, I stopped, because of whatever reason. Life. I wanted to continue to learn and I booked my first Italki lesson yesterday and I am nervous! This video made me feel more at ease but I’m still nervous that the conversation will be in English lol
So funny, the other day i had my first trial lesson in german and i was freaked out, scared of being dumb, but in the end i felt good because the teacher was nice and he understood me, it made me realize what things I'm really not confident at.
I don't usually give likes to videos but I have you one because you said it encourages you. :) I use Italki and I've been wanting to use it more. Emi, I don't speak fluent English or Spanish, but I think I can help with conversational Spanish. You can even learn some things in Portuguese. What do you think? Oh, of course, at no cost... that would be great! You help me with English and we help each other with other languages! Hugs!
I used it for Russian for 3 months. After learning on Rosetta for about a year. (Which I kind of don’t recommend Rosetta Stone as a sole platform.) italki is amazing.
this was such a fun video! I've also been putting off doing italki as well, because ...anxiety. but I know I have to, to learn! Thank you! *I just booked a lesson for this week!

Great video! I jus found out about this app and signed up earlier today. Im living in medellin and my Espanol no es bueno. Hope my experience goes this well LOL
Did you research about the tutors before you book them? Or you just pick whoever is more affordable and has the time you want? Did you choose people from a specific country or just anywhere?
I mostly chose the tutors depending on how affordable they were, and I would also watch the introduction video and see if I liked them or not! I wanted to hear different accents, so I purposly didn't specify the country:)
How is the payment method with this app? Does it spontanepusly absorbs the money from your credit/paypal as the time of the lesson progresses? Or you pay it from the beginning?(thanks in advance)

I'm so glad this video could help you like that!!💞 I hope the lesson went well! lmk!;)
@@emigrace It went well thank you. I booked a block of lessons :)
So happy to hear that!
thank you so much for showing what itaki is like!! could you recommend any of your favorite teachers? maybe some that are on the more patient side bc my Spanish isn't like really good😂 also can i say that as someone of the asian community it encouraged me to see different ethnicity learning Spanish so thank youuuu!!🥲😀
I’m living in Moscow and have been learning Russian using italki since March and I love the platform so far!
amazing!!!👏👏
I love watching you and your tricks to learning. Also your recommendations
Super fun video! Looking forward to checking out more. Your Spanish pronunciation was already good here from an early level!
thank you so much!:) though I have to credit that to my Japanese roots, since the pronunciation is actually really similar to Spanish hahahaa
this video was exactly what i was looking for! thanks and congrats!!!!
Your Spanish sounds good enough to have a conversation - you're doing great. I abuse the present perfect tense too. I really should open a grammar book.
That's very kind of you to say:) Hahahaha, a few months later and I'm still struggling with the past tense😅
Wow! By day 8, you are fluent en español! Felicidades! I registered iTalki a month ago and paid $20 already (and got $10 bonus credit). But I’m yet to be confident enough to use it. Maybe in another month. Ja ja ja
Thank you! Yeah, I think it really helped my Spanish!😄
Ahh, I know what it feels like😅 but I think it'll be great if you could get up the courage!:)
I have started learning Spanish a few years ago and like everyone, I stopped, because of whatever reason. Life. I wanted to continue to learn and I booked my first Italki lesson yesterday and I am nervous! This video made me feel more at ease but I’m still nervous that the conversation will be in English lol
wow I love that, that's amazing!! I hope you had a good lesson!:)
So funny, the other day i had my first trial lesson in german and i was freaked out, scared of being dumb, but in the end i felt good because the teacher was nice and he understood me, it made me realize what things I'm really not confident at.
ahhh yeah I definitely know the feeling😭 glad you had a good experience tho! keep it up!😊💪
I don't usually give likes to videos but I have you one because you said it encourages you. :)
I use Italki and I've been wanting to use it more. It really helps to motivate me to study more like you said. I was doing just one lesson a month but I'm going to try one lesson a week for at least a month then maybe do two lessons a week for a month. I can't do more than that because I can't afford it.
Soy maestra de español y puedo decirte que lo haces muy bien. Sigue practicando👏🏻
You did great! ¡Lo hiciste genial! ♥ ¡Continúa practicando! 💪🇪🇸
this was such a fun video! I've also been putting off doing italki as well, because ...anxiety. but I know I have to, to learn! Thank you! *I just booked a lesson for this week!
Just contracted a class with this app and the teacher didn't even appeared 😡. At least I only paid 10$ in credits... never again.
I'm further ahead in Spanish and that book isn't at my level. Don't know why he recommended it to you. Love the code switching Emi. That helps in the long run.
hahahhaha I know right😂
Your videos are so entertaining!! I enjoyed this video so much. It motivates me a lot to study languages :)
That’s so sweet of you to say, thanks so much🥺 sending much love 💓
I treated myself recently to my first lesson for my birthday. It was a trial lesson so only 30 minutes but I loved it. I think I prefer 30 minutes over an hour though LOL
I’m so happy for you!!!👏🏼💞 and I totally agree, with new teachers especially, I prefer the lesson to be 30-45 mins haha
8 different teachers?? the first hour is always kind of an assesement thing. the lessons build on each other.
I totally agree! I was just trying out different teachers to see who I liked, and now I stick to two teachers:) Best of luck with your language studies!☺️
I learn languages very very fast but I also forget if I stop using. Then it’s like I get to a stage of restarting
Preply is pretty good to use for language learning
Did you ever stick to a teacher that was good for your language learning journey or went with different teachers?
This was so entertaining! 😂😂😂 thanks for sharing your experience. You did great
Couple of months only? That's impressive
Thanks for sharing your experience on Tutor Selection. Enjoyed it.
I also do not want to do it, because each class I am nervous hahaha, If you do not want to talk with anyone, talk to me, I am silent, quiet, and reflective, in order words, I am a kind of an introvert hahaha. I forgot to say that sometimes I am weird :D
You sound well. Keep up the excellent work. I started learning 2 months ago, and I hope to be where you are soon.
Yesss you got this!! 🙌🏼💞
Your Spanish is amazing, tbh.
Mi idioma (portugués) es un 80 por ciento similar al idioma español y ver a los gringos esforzarse por aprender el idioma me hace un poco culpable, porque puedo aprenderlo en 5 meses o menos ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Pero estoy aqui sin preocuparme, Buena suerte a los que están aprendiendo
Hahahahaaaa es la verdad, sufrimos mucho😂 es súper padre que hablas portugués!:)
Great video! You have encouraged me to try Italki
Great channel ! Curious, did you start out on Rosetta Stone or something similar? Keep up the great work!
damn that was after 2 months?!!! I have been putting off Spanish as I am currently learning mandarin but this inspires me.
This just made me realize my spanish is trash
8 lessons with $30? Wow thats value. I should do that.
Great video! I jus found out about this app and signed up earlier today. Im living in medellin and my Espanol no es bueno. Hope my experience goes this well LOL
Yayyyy that’s so exciting!! Hope you’ll have a good experience!❤️
She speaks english very well.
I really enjoy this video, I wish a good learning and never give up Im try the same but from spanish to learn english
Your spanish is actually pretty good! I'm trying to get to your level haha
Your Spanish is amazing! I mean it, good job!
Ive been meaning to use italki for my German, Portuguese and Dutch but I am so scareeed 🙈
I’m really interested in knowing how much Spanish you already know, I get by at work but haven’t ever really studied
Is there somthing I should be careful of during a lesson for the first time?
Did you notice you got orbs around. Min 3.18.
estoy aprendiendo Inglés y ver tu video me dio una idea de como es estar del otro lado🤭
Wow tu Español es buenisimo, y cuantos idiomas hablas? I wanna try this app in order to teach Spanish, English and probably French. But I did not get my degree yet, I studied linguistic in Bolivia. I just need to get my degree. J'adore ta vidéo! 😊
Muchas gracias!
is sharing experiences very interesting I like your videos. Fun talk. You are so pretty and cute. I'm also interested in learning Spanish.👍
I feel like you are someone who has a lot of anxiety. So I'm very happy you had the courage to do this. ☺️
Hi I just wanna say thanks for try to learn Spanish, lately I’ve been thinking a lot about decide to pay italki to improve my English, so after watch your video I’am decided to pay it. Please don’t give in your Spanish!!!! You can do whatever you want, you are Japanese 😊
Excellent video!!! 😊 I am a Spanish tutor in Italki 😀⭐ I hope we can have a lesson one day 😊😊😊
Will i get the certificate after finishing up my any specific language course
Finally, you can talk to all the natives in Tokyo
What if I'm going to know 5% of what they say? Should I do it?
Cool! iTalki sounds great from watching you going through it haha. I also need to get better so I can talk to native speaker jajaja
Thanks for the comment! The first lesson takes a lot of courage to do but I'd def recommend it☺️ and good luck with your studies
I'm exaggerating here, but I'd rather dodge bullets than to start taking actual speaking lessons. In all seriousness though, I'll take the plunge eventually - I promise - I can't avoid the inevitable. 😉
that's honestly still a mood for me hahahaha
This was a great video thanks for sharing it!
Thank you so much!🤍
