Both on the calcs and on my back!😎 Small caveat that @meiti8724 comment reminded me of: The S1 calc was only with an ORB and RM skill buffs. This ofcourse means that the more damage bonus is introduced, through other sources, the more pronounced the difference will become with E1 taking more of a lead. For example: IL will benefit less from S1 than the calcs due to his own dmg bonus increases and more comparative deminishing returns. JL would benefit similarly to the calcs. Happy New Year everyone!
Sparkle is gonna be the main support for those that are SP heavy and that revolves around crit mainly Selee and DHILL, while Ruan Mei is for the more general team, like running double dps or DOT teams. So it really depends on your account which you value a lot more, but after seeing Sparkle kit leaked, I don't think she's better than Ruan Mei, as Ruan Mei just does so much for the team with little to no restriction. Espescially if you have both S1 and E1, Ruan Mei genuinely becomes the best harmony unit in the game.
I'll do you one better: If you have S1 Ruan Mei, then she is currently MORE SP positive than Sparkle, which doesn't change unless you get her E4. I said before Bronya LC but nope she's still less SP positive than S1 RM even if she uses Bronya LC. If you don't get S1 RM, then Sparkle pulls ahead but ONLY with Bronya LC. Otherwise even with her own current LC, she is on exactly the same level with SP gen as Ruan Mei until E4
It is kinda hard to choose. Blade and jingliu can definetly rock with ruan mei. Many characters with A class in prydwen tier list can also get better with ruan mei. Sparkle kits still not finish or final yet. I still not going to gacha on anyone. I have bronya e2 + sign lc. But for imbibitor lunae, i still not wanna pair him with bronya. I hate bronya. She always come home when I wanna play dhil + blade team. 🥴
@@FanticSama why bronya need investment ? Just put some cd on her she's done You need 2 dps to fully use her ( except for the dot team). But right now except for blade there's no one or no dps that can be worked with other dps and is sp positive. Literally every dps we have right now is meant for hyper carry and get more value from cd, attack (,not blade) then pen. I mean you can just try it out, use bronya with one dps team and use mei. You will do more damage with bronya.
Think of hanabi as playing with propagation path but you can use it everywhere not only in sim uni. As such, DPS that benefit from propagation path will be the same ones who will enjoy sparkle including dhil, qq and seele.
You guys need to wait for futher information or until hsr devs make final character development on sparkle. Maybe devs will change her skills, trace, etc. Leaks may change.
about E1 Ruan Mei vs S1 even though the calculations were technically correct they are not realistic. your characters usually have way more damage bonus than just damage orb and Ruan Mei buffs, their relics, talents etc. (for example DHIL has around 80 percent just from his traces and talent) in a realistic setup that 24% damage bonus buff is very negligible because of diminishing returns. while in contrast defense shred gets stronger the more of it you stack that 20 percent isn't really much by itself but when you put Ruan Mei in a DOT team with many other sources of defense shred that 20 percent will be massive since it scales Exponentially. so yea in general I would say almost always E1 is better
I agree with your conclusion and it was also what I was trying to show Pancake. My initial comment was ALOT longer, but that's more for a reddit thread😂 DEF ignore is a new multiplier that initially stacks with increasing returns, while the reverse is true for dmg bonus. I tried to show that this occurs even if you only take RM's buffs and a dmg bonus orb. Comparative diminishing returns will compound when more dmg bonus is introduced in that dmg bucket. Having said that, the basis for your conclusion: Do remember that the current dps queen is the exception on that rule: She loves dmg bonus😂 That is ofcourse significant, because she is our current top tier dps.

I got very lucky with my Ruan Mei artifacts. I use the messenger set (speed set), with a pennycony set on ERR rope, Memories of the past S4 lightcone, and I have 169.8 break effect. Headpiece 18.7 break effect armpiecr 23.9 break effect body 17.4 break effect boots 23.3 break effect Now if I can only get an S5 memories of the past, and do the 3 turn ult, my Ruan Mei would be perfect.
Sparkle is just better if you have dhil, qq, seele or xueyi. Ruan mei is better if you don't have any of those or don't build those units. Anyway, sparkle have better design so a must pull for me.
Yeah same, going for both. Skipping 1.5 completely have finally paid off lol. I've got Ruan Mei and already have enough stellar jades to build up to 85 pity. I might be able to get 2 limited 5 star in 2.0 if I managed to win 50/50 twice in row. 😅
Ruan Mei for sure, she utilizes break effect stats, delaying enemy turns, buff damage by 36% and resist pen on top of that, enabling two dps even for dot teams. She is pretty viable in MOC considering most bosses have ice weakness. Second to Bronya i would say for now or close to her
hanabi is soooo needed for my dan il i literarly have no good buffers and the ones i have, asta,tingyun,yukong have no eidolons so the skillpoints gained will be insane for me
It could be true! I would ask though: Check your Tinyun speed. If she is faster than your IL, then Tingyun is more SP positive than Sparkle at IL E0. Sparkle is SP positive as well and will definitly help, but with her current kit, please don't expect too much is all I'm saying.
@@Godstheticshuh I kinda disagree hanabi has four so regen as of now and has advanced Forward of half and crit DMG boost and a minor crit rate boost which like helps. So I'm confused when you say don't expect much cause from her base kit it's really good
@@Nosiop09 She need to use SP every turn to keep the buff on, Ult should be full with 3rd Skill use which make her give you 1 SP positive. 1 SP every 3 Skill, a better Bronya in this case. But should still works well with DHIL and able to give you about 4 x3 attacks turn before the SP starting to go out of order unless sparkle get hit and has another Ult ready, need 2 SP positive in the team too
Im not very good with math but with the etra skill point y ou gain from the sig LC can you do a skill, basic, skill after using her ult to get a 3 turn rotation? While using a ER rope, and a sprightly vonwacq to have a 124 percent energy reduction
Sadly no you'll need 11,3 more energy and to be the bearer of more bad news: Only if you do skill skill skill, you will BARELY make it with 1,1 energy points to spare.
Ofc its sparke + IL, if ur talking about more fun. Sparkle is basically a bronya that can spam her skill every turn and still be SP positive. 50% action advance can function as an extra turn as long as sparkle doesn't double IL's spd. Giving IL extra turns without consequences is crazy and opens a whole new playstyle for IL and also allows him to use an Atk boots instead of a spd boots. JL + Ruan Mei is basically just the usual hypercarry and u just replaced pela for Ruan Mei for a slight dps gain and weakness break efficiency + delay.
@@joaquinchua3348Blade makes the Team fun tho. My first team is Ruan, Jingliu, Blade and fu xuan and i enjoy using it. I dont have Dhil, but he looks very fun and strong. Hanabi will bump him back to S+ Tier most likely.
i got Blade , his Signature Lightcone and Ruan Mei on day 1 of this patch (under 20k jades) have 5k jades left so i started saving for Sparkle it seems she's gonna be on 2nd phase so enough time i think if i Lose 50/50 i can just buy $100 jades to get her 😎 not really interested in Black Swan.. if she is on other patch i might try to pull her but i rather skip her for Sparkle on same patch Because Sparkle have Hutao+Yae Miko personalities, twintails ,peak body type,pretty cute face and like her design because short kimono style is sexy for me
Guys please keep in mind that Sparkle is by default 100% equally as SP positive as Ruan Mei or E1 Huo Huo until E4/Bronya LC... And she is LESS SP positive than S1 RM!! FYI both me and my family is currently dying due to your reaction to my back😂😂😂
while i do think e1 is cracked especially for dot teams, many will pull for the LC because of the 60% BE it gives, making the 180% BE she needs more achievable. Ofc, some will argue that it is easier to s5 memories and should be used over the signature LC as you can 3t ult rotation with it. But not all has s5 memories or even going to pull on a certain banner just to get s5 memories. Many will most likely use their stellar jades on the new character banner or the rerun banner., It is like incessant vs tutorial again. Tutorial is arguably better and more universal, but should you missed it, your next option is incessant
I only have S3 memories and I still use it on ruan mei no problem. In fact im overcapping enough on BE% that I can afford to trade pieces between her and bronya for speed tuning.
@@FanticSama i never said it is hard. i mean if just for the sake of hitting 180 BE, you can just use 4 thief, talia ornament with BE rope ezpz. But if you wanna balance faster ult rotation and high be, you will have to compromise a few things.
@@backers0416 i have ruan mei with 180+ BE, ERR rope, 151 speed, 4k hp, 1k+ def. with s2 memories in a week. Its not the best but for me its still easier building mei than building any crit based character, honestly.
@@yuelian7663 i feel you on the crit building part. It's one thing you get crit main stats, it's another thing to get both crit rate/dmg substat, and it's another thing to get these substats boosted as you level up the said relic.
The only reasons i need sparkle is bc my danheng been so much headache in the moc since he is so sp hungry. But really ihve bene with ruan mei for while and i could say if you aint building mono quantum or danheng, ruan mei is must pull, seriously her buff is nice for dual dps especially for upcoming Pure Fiction, also she made many character alive again lol, ihve been seeing people trying standard banner characters that people was saying "gaebage" with ruan mei and they works pretty well w her.
Ruan Mei has low skill floor (easy to use while being good) while sparkle has high skill ceiling (harder to use but results in more value). If your casual go Ruan Mei and if your a game clearer and focus on meta and such opt for Sparkle.

Pro Tip for casual/F2P spenders. Slowly build the 3 teams: DPS Crt, DPS Dots, DPS Follow ups. As a F2P, Sparkle is a skip. Currently Finished DPS Crt, Loucha/Blade/Jinglui/Ruan Mae. What I should save for is for Kafka to Black Swan or Dr. Ratio/Topaz to Sam(CN leaks says Sam is a followup sub dps). RN a must have are Jinglui/DHIL Team or Seele Mono Quantum in a F2P standpoint. Seele Mono Quantum can clear any content as its already viable. Erudition is doomed until Raiden Mei arives. JY and Argenti is a bait (They are not so flexible like Seele but thank god she is quantum)
im a returning player, i have blade, ruan mei e1s1, seel and i have build my ratio since my pela is already well invested, but thats basically all the limited 5 stars i have. Do you have any advice in going forward, again im a returning player and feeling very lost, i cant even clear moc 1 rn btw
@@Ezim-sb6pg farm only musketeer relics. build dr ratio. you need to get fu xuan return banner man. kafka is temping tho since once you got her, even without black swan shes gonna be good long term. build up those support 4stars tingyun, asta, pela, yukong. MoC is an endgame content, you need better levels and relics any f2p team can do it 1-7 easy. only advise is play the game long term if you enjoy it. its like genshin once you reached the end game you only spend around 1h every day for dailies. or even 5mins if you are just burning fuels.
Hypercarry = Sparkle. Whatever else = Ruan mei. I still think Sparkle will be better than Ruan mei because she will give something more unique: sp (and sp slots). With her e2 and lc she will give 64% dmg bonus and 12% def reduction, besides 80+24% cr dmg, 15% cr and +12% speed. Quantum dps will get +30% more quantum dmg. She offers way more to hypercarry than Ruan mei, It's an easy skip for me.
Bro sparkle gives 150 cd if you have her lc for free and it's always up. Passively increase sp cap 5 to 7 gives 48 damage bonus and if momo quantum it 78% damage bonus just by using sp. Gives 4 sp in her ult. Gives 50% advance forward.
Sparkle is not overall best value 'cause it is still damage buff focus, her SP generate is for herself so overall 1 SP positive, she is a better bronya that work with FUA and no SP negative RM offer less dmg but is more universal useful, break efficient and delay help non hardcore players better as they reduce the damage taken from being attacks or get hit with Crowd control debuff. As well as she works better for dual dps and DoT. I say just get both 😂
Skill Support Dreamdiver Increases the CRIT DMG of an ally by 36% of Sparkle's CRIT DMG +16% for 1 turn(s), and also Advances the unit's action Forward by 50%. When Sparkle uses this ability on herself, the Action Advance effect will not trigger.
Out of frustration i built lynx back when she came.... Ppl overhyped her so so much.... I felt she could do stuff in the MOC .. it was big lie ... I threw her down started using bailu and got myself huohuo bcz for God sake i cant jeopardize my chance of getting jingliu over fuxuan by any means... Thus by far i only use seele and SW as only usable quantum units... And aslo got ruan mei... Have kafka so im going for black swan no matter as im hard skipping blade😢... After getting BS 😂 i assume i could try for sparkle or maybe save for Acheron.. as i already do have bronya tingyun and now RM😅😅😅.. i wonder what choice could be better...and another thing i will not pull for dang hand no matter what...😂😂😂 So.. whats your take here ?!
A well buildE6 Lynx solo sustains everything the game has to offer. She sustains better then bailu. But thats about it. Shes not a Fu xuan or a Luocha of course.
Both can buff all team comps and both offer different things so theres not really a way to properly compare them.. Ruan Mei is niche too, she gives an overall team buff but in a game wherein dual DPS still doesn't eclipse hyper-carry.. you go from damage boosting 1 dps to dmg boosting 2 dps, but even with 2 dps it'll be less of a dmg boost than with 1 hyper-carry. It makes 2 dps teams more viable (sure) but thats if you care to have 2 dps, a lot of new players don't have enough to build a sustain, 2 dps, and still have pulls left over for RM (regardless of E1S1). Thats the issue with YT content creators and their accounts, a lot of them have been playing since 1.0 & 1.1 and don't really have to experience the limitations of being a player that (perhaps) started when JingLiu released.. thinking they'll be able to pull a 5StarDPS + RM + DecentSustain and build them effectively to the theory-crafter specifications, isn't likely. Its like when people post their 0 cycle MOC 10 clears, just because you aren't doing those rotations doesn't mean your account is in bad shape, but if you ARE NOT TRYING TO MIN-MAX then aiming to meet theory-crafter specs isn't ideal. The HSR content community needs to emphasize getting essentials for your account, and RM is not an essential, she's an optional enhancement. Or else you're going to get new players trying to win 50/50 with both Blade and RM and ending up with E1 Bailu, Xueyi, Tingyun, and a whole lot of resentment because they think their account has bricked.
Ill go for sparkle later since ruan mei is a very good unit. I only want spakle for my dan heng xD . I have bronya and ruan mei; im going for jing yuan , jingliu , acheron, aventurine , robin maybe and huo huo :) ill get hanabi later , but if she runs with jing yuan ill try to get her
@@namikodo-37 At E0 Bronya has little synergy with DHIL unless you have her E1 and her lightcone. In my case I recently got Ruan Mei and I will go for Hanabi since I have Imbibitor. I don't know who to pull after her but I want Aventurine, Jingliu and Topaz.
Imma skip sparkle because she looks like a kid so im going to skip respectfully and save my jade for sam, duke inferno, and/or gallagher. I wish the best of luck for anyone on their next pull.

The thing is sparkle is better bronya and bronya is still better than mei so sparkle is better than mei simple as that.

I got very lucky with my Ruan Mei artifacts. I use the messenger set (speed set), with a pennycony set on ERR rope, Memories of the past S4 lightcone, and I have 169.8 break effect.
Headpiece 18.7 break effect
armpiecr 23.9 break effect
body 17.4 break effect
boots 23.3 break effect
Now if I can only get an S5 memories of the past, and do the 3 turn ult, my Ruan Mei would be perfect.

Sparkle is just better if you have dhil, qq, seele or xueyi. Ruan mei is better if you don't have any of those or don't build those units. Anyway, sparkle have better design so a must pull for me.

Ruan Mei for sure, she utilizes break effect stats, delaying enemy turns, buff damage by 36% and resist pen on top of that, enabling two dps even for dot teams. She is pretty viable in MOC considering most bosses have ice weakness. Second to Bronya i would say for now or close to her
hanabi is soooo needed for my dan il i literarly have no good buffers and the ones i have, asta,tingyun,yukong have no eidolons so the skillpoints gained will be insane for me
It could be true! I would ask though: Check your Tinyun speed.
If she is faster than your IL, then Tingyun is more SP positive than Sparkle at IL E0.
Sparkle is SP positive as well and will definitly help, but with her current kit, please don't expect too much is all I'm saying.

@@Nosiop09 She need to use SP every turn to keep the buff on, Ult should be full with 3rd Skill use which make her give you 1 SP positive. 1 SP every 3 Skill, a better Bronya in this case.
But should still works well with DHIL and able to give you about 4 x3 attacks turn before the SP starting to go out of order unless sparkle get hit and has another Ult ready, need 2 SP positive in the team too

Ofc its sparke + IL, if ur talking about more fun. Sparkle is basically a bronya that can spam her skill every turn and still be SP positive. 50% action advance can function as an extra turn as long as sparkle doesn't double IL's spd. Giving IL extra turns without consequences is crazy and opens a whole new playstyle for IL and also allows him to use an Atk boots instead of a spd boots.
JL + Ruan Mei is basically just the usual hypercarry and u just replaced pela for Ruan Mei for a slight dps gain and weakness break efficiency + delay.

while i do think e1 is cracked especially for dot teams, many will pull for the LC because of the 60% BE it gives, making the 180% BE she needs more achievable.
Ofc, some will argue that it is easier to s5 memories and should be used over the signature LC as you can 3t ult rotation with it. But not all has s5 memories or even going to pull on a certain banner just to get s5 memories. Many will most likely use their stellar jades on the new character banner or the rerun banner.,
It is like incessant vs tutorial again. Tutorial is arguably better and more universal, but should you missed it, your next option is incessant
I only have S3 memories and I still use it on ruan mei no problem. In fact im overcapping enough on BE% that I can afford to trade pieces between her and bronya for speed tuning.

@@backers0416 i have ruan mei with 180+ BE, ERR rope, 151 speed, 4k hp, 1k+ def. with s2 memories in a week. Its not the best but for me its still easier building mei than building any crit based character, honestly.
@@yuelian7663 i feel you on the crit building part. It's one thing you get crit main stats, it's another thing to get both crit rate/dmg substat, and it's another thing to get these substats boosted as you level up the said relic.
The only reasons i need sparkle is bc my danheng been so much headache in the moc since he is so sp hungry.
But really ihve bene with ruan mei for while and i could say if you aint building mono quantum or danheng, ruan mei is must pull, seriously her buff is nice for dual dps especially for upcoming Pure Fiction, also she made many character alive again lol, ihve been seeing people trying standard banner characters that people was saying "gaebage" with ruan mei and they works pretty well w her.

Ruan Mei has low skill floor (easy to use while being good) while sparkle has high skill ceiling (harder to use but results in more value). If your casual go Ruan Mei and if your a game clearer and focus on meta and such opt for Sparkle.

Pro Tip for casual/F2P spenders. Slowly build the 3 teams: DPS Crt, DPS Dots, DPS Follow ups. As a F2P, Sparkle is a skip. Currently Finished DPS Crt, Loucha/Blade/Jinglui/Ruan Mae. What I should save for is for Kafka to Black Swan or Dr. Ratio/Topaz to Sam(CN leaks says Sam is a followup sub dps). RN a must have are Jinglui/DHIL Team or Seele Mono Quantum in a F2P standpoint. Seele Mono Quantum can clear any content as its already viable. Erudition is doomed until Raiden Mei arives. JY and Argenti is a bait (They are not so flexible like Seele but thank god she is quantum)
im a returning player, i have blade, ruan mei e1s1, seel and i have build my ratio since my pela is already well invested, but thats basically all the limited 5 stars i have. Do you have any advice in going forward, again im a returning player and feeling very lost, i cant even clear moc 1 rn btw
@@Ezim-sb6pg farm only musketeer relics. build dr ratio. you need to get fu xuan return banner man. kafka is temping tho since once you got her, even without black swan shes gonna be good long term. build up those support 4stars tingyun, asta, pela, yukong. MoC is an endgame content, you need better levels and relics any f2p team can do it 1-7 easy. only advise is play the game long term if you enjoy it. its like genshin once you reached the end game you only spend around 1h every day for dailies. or even 5mins if you are just burning fuels.

I still think Sparkle will be better than Ruan mei because she will give something more unique: sp (and sp slots). With her e2 and lc she will give 64% dmg bonus and 12% def reduction, besides 80+24% cr dmg, 15% cr and +12% speed. Quantum dps will get +30% more quantum dmg. She offers way more to hypercarry than Ruan mei, It's an easy skip for me.

Depends on the account. The characters you have and the team comps you want to play. But she does seem more universal
Bro sparkle gives 150 cd if you have her lc for free and it's always up. Passively increase sp cap 5 to 7 gives 48 damage bonus and if momo quantum it 78% damage bonus just by using sp. Gives 4 sp in her ult. Gives 50% advance forward.
Sparkle is not overall best value 'cause it is still damage buff focus, her SP generate is for herself so overall 1 SP positive, she is a better bronya that work with FUA and no SP negative
RM offer less dmg but is more universal useful, break efficient and delay help non hardcore players better as they reduce the damage taken from being attacks or get hit with Crowd control debuff. As well as she works better for dual dps and DoT. I say just get both 😂

If you use follow up teams, I recommend Sparkle. At the moment it's Ruan Mei for DoT and Break. Sparkle for Hyper carry, followup and Mono Quantum
Out of frustration i built lynx back when she came.... Ppl overhyped her so so much.... I felt she could do stuff in the MOC .. it was big lie ... I threw her down started using bailu and got myself huohuo bcz for God sake i cant jeopardize my chance of getting jingliu over fuxuan by any means... Thus by far i only use seele and SW as only usable quantum units... And aslo got ruan mei... Have kafka so im going for black swan no matter as im hard skipping blade😢... After getting BS 😂 i assume i could try for sparkle or maybe save for Acheron.. as i already do have bronya tingyun and now RM😅😅😅.. i wonder what choice could be better...and another thing i will not pull for dang hand no matter what...😂😂😂 So.. whats your take here ?!
A well buildE6 Lynx solo sustains everything the game has to offer. She sustains better then bailu. But thats about it. Shes not a Fu xuan or a Luocha of course.

Both can buff all team comps and both offer different things so theres not really a way to properly compare them.. Ruan Mei is niche too, she gives an overall team buff but in a game wherein dual DPS still doesn't eclipse hyper-carry.. you go from damage boosting 1 dps to dmg boosting 2 dps, but even with 2 dps it'll be less of a dmg boost than with 1 hyper-carry.
It makes 2 dps teams more viable (sure) but thats if you care to have 2 dps, a lot of new players don't have enough to build a sustain, 2 dps, and still have pulls left over for RM (regardless of E1S1). Thats the issue with YT content creators and their accounts, a lot of them have been playing since 1.0 & 1.1 and don't really have to experience the limitations of being a player that (perhaps) started when JingLiu released.. thinking they'll be able to pull a 5StarDPS + RM + DecentSustain and build them effectively to the theory-crafter specifications, isn't likely.
Its like when people post their 0 cycle MOC 10 clears, just because you aren't doing those rotations doesn't mean your account is in bad shape, but if you ARE NOT TRYING TO MIN-MAX then aiming to meet theory-crafter specs isn't ideal. The HSR content community needs to emphasize getting essentials for your account, and RM is not an essential, she's an optional enhancement. Or else you're going to get new players trying to win 50/50 with both Blade and RM and ending up with E1 Bailu, Xueyi, Tingyun, and a whole lot of resentment because they think their account has bricked.

Ill go for sparkle later since ruan mei is a very good unit. I only want spakle for my dan heng xD . I have bronya and ruan mei; im going for jing yuan , jingliu , acheron, aventurine , robin maybe and huo huo :) ill get hanabi later , but if she runs with jing yuan ill try to get her
I actually doubt you would need sparkle for danheng IL than his eidolon since you already have bronya. Hanabi is kinda upgraded version of bronya
@@namikodo-37 At E0 Bronya has little synergy with DHIL unless you have her E1 and her lightcone. In my case I recently got Ruan Mei and I will go for Hanabi since I have Imbibitor. I don't know who to pull after her but I want Aventurine, Jingliu and Topaz.
