Well it is still good enough to 3 star Apocalyptic Shadow. I used it for that. It lets you cheat out a weakness implant earlier than you are supposed to. Firefly and Boothhill can do it too and way better but it is still something that is relevant to mono quantum.
@@aliadel1475 Yeah, in concept it is a pretty good team (if not one of the best) for bruteforcing. The problem is that the only 5-star hypercarry in that comp is REALLY dated.
Xueyi and Seele: I guess that's why they are still good in their respective modes (Xueyi in AS and Seele in PF) without mono quantum needed 😆 The have that height buff
@@ladyhdwastaken Like how you mention Seele being good in PF instead of - idk - Jade, a Quantum Erudition that literally swept PF as a whole. Plus with the new AS, Jade on second half is an absolute shredder.
Mono fire is pretty respectable these days. Back in the ancient past you could run 3 fire units and silver wolf and it would work pretty well. These days Firefly is way better and implanting weakness. Once we get Fugue mono fire will really come into its own again. Is mono fire just a break team in disguise? Kinda but that’s been fire’s identity since the game released, with Himeko leading that charge at first and now Firefly. Also calling mono quantum dead is a tad harsh. It still performs respectably even if it’s fallen out of the meta, it really just needs a dps more with the times than Selee to be very good again.
The moment Mihoyo decided to give DPS units built-in weakness implants like Firefly, mono quantum already lost its edge. Mono quantum really needs a better DPS than can take full advantage Sparkle and make Fu Xuan more favored. Lingsha and Aventurine are better than Fu Xuan currently because they are sustains with desirable niches (Break and FUA). Sparkle could've been as good as Robin and Ruan Mei if Mihoyo cared to make a good Quantum DPS in 2024.
I feel like the entire elemental toughness mechanic is shooting themselves in the foot. They made the entire game revolve around bringing units of specific elements to counter specific toughness types, but then they realise that it severely limits the uses of any gives unit. So now 50% of the units that come out just ingore this mechanic entirely and deal toughness damage regardless. Like, why have the mechanic in the first place if youre just gonna make units ignore it.
They are break DPS so of course they can implant their own weakness. They had to make Firefly as braindead as possible to play, after all. That's still only two DPS with weakness implant. Firefly's benefits her team, and we all know HMC is carrying Firefly's weight so hard. Boothill is different since his benefits himself alone (stacks for pocket trickshot) and it's tied to his ult and has *some* utility of pushing the enemy back on the action order. Bronie (SW) is still the best single target def shred/res shred unit in the game. People acting like "oh she's obsolete because mono qt is obsolete" is silly. I use Seele only in PF and she doesn't need mono QT there (and SW sucks in PF anyway). QQ I use on quantum weak floors of MOC (when they exist) and Sparkle is basically mandatory since RIP my skill points otherwise :') I think that scenario with QQ is the only time it's relevant now. Even Xueyi doesn't need mono QT.
They basically need a new quantum dps with some broken mechanic. Seele and QQ are outdated 1.0 dps characters. They do not have the crazy multipliers of modern dps. Something like gaining 50% damage bonus per every quantum stack on an enemy so you get 250% damage bonus at full stacks. Personally though I hope they reign in the power creep. It is too much. At this rate we will have 3.0 supports that do normal attacks that outdps Fexiao in her best team. We already have supports that do a million damage per cycle. I did not expect that something like that would happen were even the older dedicated dps characters could not compete with supports in dps.
Ice simply could borrow mechanics from Remembrance path in Simulated Universe, where being Frozen puts you in "Dissociation". The status works just like Freeze does, except there are mechanics that: Increase Damage dealt to those enemies while Frozen, Makes sure Critical Hits always land on those targets, Ignores Freeze resistance, Removal of the Mechanic by Player's action deals extra damage. The mechanic is there and almost all of these ideas could be decent blueprint for it to work. We don't even need a new path for it, too. Trailblazer has Super Break despite the fact Break is a Stat mostly conditioned to Nihility in SU.
@@nyes4596 Remembrance might come. It’s the most “Complete” Alternate Job/Path that might come. They have talked about also Propagation, but that’s way later down the line. Remembrance will be tested on TB new form in 3.x, a DPS who inflicts Action Order disruption(Dissociation?)
Mono quantum used to be a team I used a lot until they started getting weaker with each version :( This makes me feel sorry for this team, hoping that in the future we will have a new DPS for Quantum
mono quantum didn’t get weaker the enemies just got way stronger and tanker while mono quantum itself never got any supports to help them out and stay relevant. Most of the mono quantum dps character kits are out of date now and weaker than our current dps characters. Also moc is heavily break focused right now and the follow up teams are very strong
I think Freeze would be more interesting if it was added into the DoT archetype. DoT typically wants enemies to move fast to get more procs but the problem is it would also make enemies pose more threat to the team as they will deal damage faster. Freeze fixes all that. It cancels enemy turns while pushing their next turn forward. It just needs an effect where it would extend the duration of debuffs so the accelerated turns wouldn't burn through the team's debuffs. It also fits well with DoT since they love getting more Effect Hit Rate. Maybe Freeze could also make DoTs crit if need be. Sure there would be balance issues with it but maybe they can just make a debuff that does all of the above and Freeze is only the cherry on top that is not 100% guaranteed every turn.
i feel like they shot themselves in the foot with DoT by having only Lightning, fire, phys and wind be DoT types. Now, they could add more but then stuff like BS's E1 would lose a lot of value, though i guess that's not too big of a problem cause you'd probalby not want to use triple DoT and kafka should be a mainstay in DoT teams unless they literally just make kafka pro max, so your DoT team would be Kafka, DoT DPS, DoT support, DoT sustain (praying for the last one the most honestly.) LEAK TALK AHEAD Unrelated, if they powercreep kafka i'mma be mad, i'm not asking for her to be meta for the remainder of the game but please don't let her become the DoT's equivalent of SW, not for a bit, we haven't had any time to use her either as DoT has only been sorta alive since black swan, it's already getting fucked and 3.x will be summon meta. we do have a sus leak of a quantum DoT healer (which sounds insane to me but whatever, could just say fuck it make it count as bleed or some shit.) and 3 new 5* Nihility units in the beginning of 3.X, so i have hope.
Hoyo: Here's Sparkle, we gave her a trace for mono quantum teams. released in penacony btw Hoyo: Here's Black Swan. She's a DOT unit and she's really strong. Released in Penacony btw Black Swan and Sparkle: Busted units struggling for air right now because also Hoyo: ha ha follow up attack and break meta ha ha ha ha Also in Penacony :)
I just went back to building this team again yesterday! It's going to be so much fun to shred everything now that I have SW's energy lightcone. Kinda wish I had Fuxuan instead of Lynx but we've got a lot of offensive support sets now.
To hop onto the freeze debate, I think freeze could have a place in the meta, but not in break teams, it would be great for DoT teams. Imagine an ice character like black-swan, where frozen enemies "explode" like arcana dealing toughness damage, apply a dot damage amplification(something like dissasociation), and has a higher chance to freeze broken enemies.
I believe mono quantum team would be back if they released a 5* quantum destruction or nihility that can reduce the toughness bar of enemies regardless of weakness and can also take full advantage of sparkle's buffs.
We need Silver Wolf that can select the implant element and apply it AoE. If you hate break dps, then make it so the implant doesn't worm if any parry member has over 150% Break Effect.
Then you'll need a new support to replace Silver Wolf, who will be useless in that team. I think they'll instead make an entire new team that replaces every Quantum character we have now. They are all made for single target, except Fu Xuan, but she's feeling a bit outdated already.
@@Mr.MasterOfTheMonsters Seele is single target since when? She's a closet erudition unit. QQ is a closet destruction unit. SW is the only one who is pure single target and regardless of eidolons will always be pure single target. And single target isn't even bad... Boothill IMO is better than Firefly by a long shot (he requires a brain to play though so RIP auto players) and he is purely single target. He only struggles in pure fiction which is not even a mode made for single target so who the hell cares
One thing that wasn't mentioned about elements that inflict a Crowd Control debuff on break like Ice and Quantum: Practically every boss now has something called "Control Effects Resistance". It is a THIRD resistance on top of Effect Res and Debuff Res and the way it works is that if the Crowd Control effect gets through the other two, there is a flat chance that cannot be changed by Effect Hit Rate that the debuff will simply not apply. If you look up the Debuff application formula now, you will see that Crowd Effects Resistance is completely separate from the formula. This means that Entanglement will NEVER be consistent because there is always a 20-30% chance the Entanglement is just blocked for being classed as a Control Effect.
Ive been getting a Lot of mileage out of my all-Fire team (Jiaoqiu, Gallagher, Himeko, Asta (asta also using penacony planar ornaments for extra type dmg)). Jiaoqiu add increased dmg to all enemies on hit, and his debuff works as a Burn for Himeko's extra dmg. Gallagher keeps everyone alive while also potentially doing break dmg and skill point building. Asta buffs everyone on the team with increased type dmg and speed is always nice to have. Himeko implants more burn, does more dmg with the burn everyone else does, and has good followup and aoe ult. Used them to defeat Sunday and Doom guy Echos earlier, which is hella convenient. :D Also i sincerely hope they give us an ice abundance character soon so i can have all paths of ice! Thanks for the video! I never think about things as deeply or numerically as u do, but its fun to learn about thru ur videos :D
As someone who still uses mono quantum and clear all content. I have to agree mono quantum isn't as good as it used to be so i wouldnt recommend it to new players. BUT heck i love it and it still works for AS and MOC.
Good discussion on the flaws of these earlier archetypes, however I think it might have been worth going over the 'Propagation' (basic attack/skill point spam) archetype as well since one of the two main mono quantum teams is also part of that together with Dan Heng IL - and it has also fallen off since Sparkle was the only direct support they ever received.
its not just mono team comp that has been falling off, but the whole standard hyper carry DPS comp, they need to release a tool(Support unit) that can help older units shine again while being consistent regardless of the enemy types or weakness, my idea is stacking damage that can detonate that scales with the raw damage, and for Aoe, 50% of the whole Aoe damage that will detonate on a single enemy or buff allies to enable super crits that does double your crit stats
ice nihility that implants a deep freeze debuff, that decreases freeze and ice resist by a lot, gives a special debuff that increases damage when freeze is applied on already frozen characters and applies exo toughness, freezing for one more turn and thus mono ice is born with teams that don't necessarily require a sustain or ice weakness if enough characters can apply freeze
I feel like there's not enough of a conversation on the rise of Mono Quantum and what made it so interesting, especially with Qingque specifically. - Simulated Universe got a huge update with the Swarm Disaster and with it came Propagation, a path made for her and DHIL. It helped that the swarm enemies were weak to Quantum while the normal enemies and bosses could be weakness implanted by Silver Wolf to make that team's sailing much smoother. -- Propagation unlocking at the end also meant normal SU runs were much easier for that team, helping with the planar ornament grind - Qingque's tile drawing counted as "taking an action", meaning certain blessing that triggered for consecutive actions applied to her. This also charged special abilities like path resonance and boss special attacks, giving her a unique benefit for having bad luck on tile drawing - Before Sparkle, there were good options as other supports. Tingyun and Pela were great buffers / debuffers and skill point generators, especially if you were running into enemies with their respective elements. The weekly bosses all had elements that could work well with a psuedo-quantum team until Sparkle's addition That said, while I know a lot of more recent teams all feed into each other (especially FuA and Break), I personally think that's less on Mono Quantum and more on a departure from the Hypercarry team. Nowadays, there are strong DPS comps with good sub DPS that also act as buffers and healers that all feed into each other. The follow-up team is so fluid that it's crazy to think that there used to be units that were mostly used as skill point generators like Luocha. I feel like this game is going the way of making all of its units do damage and that's really the only way to make old teams work. The Mono Quantum supports weren't built for this new meta and I feel the only way it would ever succeed in the future is with entirely new units.
To fix MonoQ there's a couple approaches really. I think new characters are one of the worst ones though, because that inherently means replacing the characters you used to love instead of making them specifically viable again. The DPS quantum set is already pretty strong as well, so the best way is probably to add a support set specifically on quantum units, for quantum units. Perhaps it could even have its own exponential stacking, the effect being multiplied by 2^n lim n=3, where n = the number of characters using the set
Hanabi wants to carry a slow quantum high damage dps that waste a lot of Skill points. Silverwolf debuff is single target and she is also slow to get her ultimate. Doesn't do any damage to contribuite to the team when she doesn't have her ultimate. Fu Xuan is also slow and do absolute nothing besides tanking and generating Skill points. Slow dps are always destruction looking at all the character he got. So Silverwolf's debuff have no synergy
@@mauriciorosademoraes9209 Fu Xuan is arguably the strongest sustainability provider + give some crit rate buff. Silver wolf was fine before DPS characters started applying their weaknesses themselves. And we have Seele and Qingque as DPS options. Both are 1.0 DPS who can't catch up the newer colleagues. Some kind of glass cannon character can return live to the concept but I don't think hoyo will do that
@stannumowl Fu Xuan is not the best sustain because can't regen fast the ally that received 1 target damage from a Boss like Gallagher's pet. And she loses 40% ~ 70% of her max against powerfull AoE attacks from bosses ou multiple strong elites that can't be broken easily. Aventurine lacks against single target but stills much better than Fu Xuan, and doesn't need to get his ultimate to heal more the allies and recharge her own healing which sucks because Fu is too slow to recharge that ultimate decent. She can sustain with E0S1 but E0S0 Fu Xuan is just a Time Limited sustain, you gonna die one time, there's no salvation then you need to kill fast the enemies or use Ruan Mei to entend the break state or putting slow and delay
@@mauriciorosademoraes9209 her s1 is not so important (personal experience). Gepard's lightcone works just slightly worse. I don't have Aventurine to compare but what I know for sure is that Fu Xuan is the only sustain unit on my account who didn't have an issue to keep team alive anywhere except max difficulty SU. And this is taking into account Lingsha, Bailu, Gallagher, Gepard and 4 star units
I still think that weakness implant of damage dealers to be a horrible idea. It's just bad if you want the game to have sustainable meta. We could've had a number of supports having these niches instead. Fire weakness implant on Jiaoqiu seems nice instead of Firefly. Fits his poisoner theme as well.
This just kills Break as an archetype. If they can't break by themselves they become basically useless unless the boss is weak to their specific element, and completely useless in AoE scenarios. The only reason Rappa isn't massively held back (and to be clear she IS held back, just not massively) by this is that she has Weakness Break by any other name, and is designed for PF where toughness bars are smaller. Putting the implant on another unit is just not fun. Now, if you pull for Firefly on her initial banner, she's going to be garbage for a patch and a half before JQ comes around. You didn't pull FF because you had no way of knowing she'd become useable in 3 months? Have fun not being able to participate in the Break meta. Now if you want you can pull for JQ and wait 6 months for a FF rerun. The one way this'd be acceptable is to put the Weakness Implant on a character like Harmblazer or March Hunt who everyone gets for free.
@@masterplusmargarita You're putting reality into theoretical situations. If someone like JQ did get AoE weakness implant, he would be released right next to Firefly, and can even be before her. Also, it's entirely possible we would get 4* equivalents, and be put together with corresponding 5* banners. Hoyoverse just doesn't make them. DPS not being able to function without proper support is an entirely normal situation in the gaming landscape. Weakness implant superbreak has a really high ceiling for being almost universal.
Mono quantum is not a real archetype, it’s just Seele or Qinque hypercarry lol, which def has better options now as Silverwolf has unfortunately been eclipsed by current options.
2:17 "and then we got Aventurine, Robin and Feixiao" I love how as each of their portraits showed up on the screen, Jing Yuan's began to get pushed off it
ah yes, silver wolf aka the biggest HSR scam where everyone thought she was THE kazuha of HSR only to have her kits being built-in on more than half of the damage units in the 2.0 era. This basically ends the possibilities of other mono-elements as well.
I know this is kinda niche but Gepard with one of his eilodons plus his signature ligthcone is (I think) one of the most realiable freeze appliers on the game. I am a ftp but I somehow ended up with E5 Geppy and his ligthcone. I wish I had more opportunities to use him, I've grown quite attach to the character.
One of the most reliable freezers is M7 with enough speed and Effect hit rate, she could perma with every ult(this is specially good in overflow energy scenarios or with enough speed and Eagle set)
I am an E1S4 Gepard haver 😆Yeah, I liked running him or March 7th with DOT because of their freeze reliability but Hoyo said "lol freeze res everywhere" and there goes my fun
Can't say I agree with the claim that there's no inherent synergy between mono quantum when one of the biggest weaknesses of QQ was how SP hungry she was and Sparkle added an absurd amount of SP generation and increased damage based on that - it's a tailor made support just as much as Black Swan is, even if it has more universal application. The teams problem isn't particularly deep - it's just using early characters that have been powercrept and the character that had the most synergy gained from the mono quantum pushing support was a 4 star.
Well,by coincident or by design we are very close to a mono fire team centered around super break Firefly built on fire implant enables the team which Lingsha/Gallagher as sustain and the upcoming Fugr being the super break enabler If Fugue gives Weakness break efficiency then you can technically also remove ruan mei for someone like Asta for example
The only debuff that can help ice freeze team, disociation And more broken if you can constantly "pop" the disociation debuff like rememberance blessing
TL;DW A year old Meta team of year old units is not as good as todays units. And the game is actively pushing towards multiple metas for better choice.
@@davidjohansson4556 I am in fact. I can play any team style i want and still clear all content in the game. Cause the Devs have worked hard to make good synergistic teams available.
i think it’d be really cool to see a character that can apply dissociation. maybe an emanator of remembrance? ive always thought that mono teams were a cool idea so i’d love to see some more characters that use the concept to their benefit
I think the moment we get a good quantum destruction character is the moment mono quantum will be on the map again. It definitely wouldn't ever be meta defining but I could definitely see the possibility of it being a good off meta comp
Good video! Maybe instead of just freeze they should make a character focused on dissociation. It was one of the moc buffs when jingliu came out. Also the type buffing passives can still work design wise. The obvious example is Acheron’s trace wanting two nihility to maximize her damage. Zenless does the same thing with all their characters. Maybe in sparkle’s case, she provides a lot of utility already so the same type buff makes you not miss out as much.
I'll be honest, they can't just ignore like half of the elements, at least making them feel like an element. DoT has some feeling of being an element since their element relates to their DoTs. But the other elemental debuffs deserve to be focused on too. Sure, element relates to breaking weakness so its not completely irrelevant outside DoT, but we have like an Imaginary set that synergizes with Entanglement. Honestly, they just need to reduce the effects of slows some if they want to avoid permafreeze, or just say after a freeze occurs and they get put back on the bar that they then can't be frozen until they take a turn. Certain teams and units can pretty much one shot a lot of bosses at this point. So having bosses be controlled a bit isn't that absurd.
jingliu, pela, ruan mei, gepard/march? technically a team, sort of, somewhat, maybe would work (yangqinq can be replace jingliu if someone doesn't have her, or misha for area damage)
I absolutely love the idea that Ice could be the perfect candidate for a monotype team. Something as simple as a new 5* releasing with a talent that's like "All Ice element characters on your team can apply the "Chill" status effect based on their regular Effect Hit Rate" and then a kit that plays around that would just be >>>>
Devs definitely make Quantum destruction 5 star soon . But I hope her kits is not same as Xueyi . Also Lynx isn't good in Mono Quantum team . No Quantum characters want her aggro weight from her skill . So she is too relay on ultimate to heal . It will be good if there another DPS that is like Yunli counter Poor me not enough tickets to get Fu Xuan .
It seems like Hoyo is going to just be jumping from meta to meta leaving old units to be useless in current MoC. Mono Quantum -> Destruction -> DoT -> Break -> Summons
I feel like a nihility support that can apply disassociation (like the SU remembrance blessings) could help make a mono freeze team become somewhat meta
I agree. There's some occasional hints at some kind of mono type team thing with Planetary Rendesvouz and assorted support traces, but I think it's overall healthier for the game not to have actual monotype teams be a thing. It is kinda funny to look back in hindsight when Silverwolf was hyped as the "Kazuha of Star Rail" and that no account would be complete without her. I can't really blame everyone back then for buying into the Mono Quantum hype though, sometimes you just can't predict what 'fundamental rules' Hoyo would 'break' - in this case releasing like 3-4 five star DPS characters in a row that either implant or ignore weakness typing. EDIT: Forgot about the weighted curio as recently as DU that basically screams "Yeah, remember Mono Quantum?"
I still think they could make a mono element support if you think of it more like how mono teams usually are in Genshin instead of a pure mono-element team. For those that don't know, in Genshin teams are usually called mono-x if they have 3 characters of the same element + one character from another element that can help the rest of the team, usually this has been done with Kazuha for his damage boost and resistance shred, sometimes Zhongli for his shielding and lower resistance shred, and now probably Xilonen too for her damage boost and resistance shred. In HSR they could have a harmony or nihility character that increases damage significantly if 3 characters on the team use the same element. This could be restricted by only working against enemies weak to that element, so that it wouldn't be too versatile. They could even be a sustain character, because preservation and abundance characters have become less of pure sustain characters and more half sustainers, half something else. Depending on how the specifics of this type of character works, I feel like this could make mono-teams designed to counter enemies with specific weaknesses. If the buff was a damage boost it could also stop the DPS characters we have now that implant weaknesses from taking too much advantage of it, because Boothill and Firefly don't benefit that much from DMG% buffs. And at least for now, most of the elements don't have a super great 3 character core that works well together, except for quantum with Seele/ Qingque, Silver Wolf, Sparkle, and Fu Xuan/ Lynx, where one of the supports could be switched out for this mono-buff character. Depending on the rest of this theoretical character's kit and their element, they could make some other elements have a 3 character core.
As someone who still like using Mono Quantum, basically you have a lot of Def Shread because of the set and enemies always is weak to you, Free Crit-Rates because of Fuxuan (And specially if you have Sparkle LC), and amazingly high Crit-DMG because of Sparkle. If you have E1 Fuxuan it gets even better... I think Mono-Quantum is a time-bomb comp, we just need a last character to fit in place of Qingque and it'll be meta AF (DanHeng IL would be so much better as a Quantum character 😢)
There are a couple issues this comp has I think. 1) 2.x has just power crept old dps characters and Seele and QQ just can't output the same numbers, and 2) we've entered an era where dps characters are just applying their own elemental weaknesses or ignoring weakness types, making Silver Wolf's old utility rather unimpressive in comparison. It's a bit sad because Qingque is still my favorite character in this game but it's gotten a lot harder to justify using her.
The difference between SW's weakness implant and the implant of break DPS's like Firefly and Boothill is that SW additionally shreds enemy resistance to the implanted element. FF and Boot have it for the purpose of toughness reduction. They would be significantly less usable without it, as you say. Silver Wolf's weakness implant serves the purpose of allowing any DPS's to be viable against all enemies regardless of element. She is incredibly versatle and powerful regardless of Break teams not needing her. Mono-Quantum itself is still one of the most fun teams to play (and a personal fave of mine). Hanabi is the lynchpin of the team, and when she was released the team was complete. Her best team is still Mono-Quantum, even in spite of working well with so many other DPS. The team is not as relevant right now simply due to the game's current focus on modes that favor Break and Follow Up teams. Crit/Ult focused teams will always be reliable outisde of content where its specifically set up to favor Break/FuA. A good example being Simulated Universe's many modes.
My rendition of mono quantum is: Xueyi / Seele as the main dps, Jade as sub, Sparkle to buff, and Fu Xuan for sustain. Granted this team really only works against bosses that are already quantum weak, but it works very well on the red bug boss. I could swap Jade for SW but then there isn't really a good aoe option anymore. I still haven't built my QQ btw.
It could be argued that Mono Quantum has added potential dual synergy of high skill point usage. Seele and Qinqe use a lot of skill points and Fu Xuan/SW/Sparkle are highly SP positive (and sparkle gives extra damage per SP usage) If a new Quantum dps that uses a lot of SP comes out, it could scale into a complete beast.
Despite how far it's left behind, monoquantum isn't completely useless as long as they have SW. Also, anything that utilize heavy SP consumption (like against SAM) or single basic attack DPS is still open to possibility in the future like how relevant propagation is in SU. Perhaps not necessarily a quantum Imbibitor Lunae.
I could see a Support who turned Frozen into the Dissociation effect from sim-U giving Ice types a boost... At least a bit. Onto the main point, honestly I think the only reason Mono Quantum got as far as it did was because of how bonkers the Quantum set was/is. Once other units started getting a remotely comparable set to use it was inevitable that Mono-Quantum would fall and fall hard.
i regret getting silver wolf a lot bc i thought she could help me with my lack of elements at the time by changing the weakness when i got her i realized how limited she actually was shes kinda sitting abandoned at the moment shes the FIRST character i regret not even regretting jingyuan but even he is getting a buff soon making him even more useful
i wish we had more viable archetypes and that the buffs from the various endgame activities (SU, PF, MoC, AS) made those other archetype viable. I think as a new player what hurts diversity the most is the lack of access to good defence units. If you werent around for aventurine and skipped Fu xuan you end up facing challenges that expect you to survive a lot so if your janky comp unable to quickly push huge dps is going to struggle
Not related, but the possibility of mono fire is in the horizon, not only because Firefly implants solely fire weakness in the same fashion as silverwolf (sp negative) but she is the hypercarry.
I guess Mono quantum needs a better 5* dps. Takes advantage of Sparkles buffs, maybe do more damage when theres debuffs so Silver wolf feels valued more outside of weakness implant. Maybe unleash a blast follow up on weakness break or explodes entanglement faster and makes it stronger or something so they feel unique compared to superbreak, like they have a break ability but they're closer to a regular dps or something
4:02 I’m kinda curious what people think of this current trend Hoyo has of releasing characters that are of a certain element but just end up being able to do weakness damage regardless. It does make sense for Boothill, Firefly and Rappa don’t get me wrong I’ve had the displeasure of having a Trotter shield its weaknesses and my FF not being able to do anything anymore happen too many times but still. We have another unit coming out soon that is able to do that with their ult as well so clearly they intend on putting more of it into character kits but they’re a break unit so this argument is a tad less valid.
I think they kinda shot themself in the foot by expecting people will create different teams for all elements of coverage, when people tend to like to invest in a couple premium characters of their liking. it's also just expensive to build that many characters. but yeah, I'm kinda getting tired of it too, it it's overshadowing all the previous characters. I mean it was kinda cool with xueyi
Mono Quantum got surpassed because over time there was not much incentive to group units of the same type in one team. It makes more sense to group units based on how well they work with each other, which is not always something you can achieve if you want a mono-element team. And in those situations there's no incentive to ignore those benefits (from not doing mono-element and grouping based on synergy) because there's no buffs to make up for ignoring them. I think the only shot Mono-Quantum and other mono-element teams have would be if something like elemental resonance in Genshin gets introduced where certain buffs are given if you have a certain number of a specific element/type in the team. But that also introduces its own headaches such as how to ensure this doesn't unintentionally buff other teams such that the bar just gets set even higher. And even then it doesn't address how units of the same element/type need to synergize to some degree (like Ganyu and Ayaka or Bennett and Xiangling) and not just be grouped for the sake of making a mono-element team.
I have built full super break team, but mono quantum is still my main team since I started. It definitely isn't as good as, you know, *full premium modern 5★ teams,* but it's still very good and clears MoC/AS just fine. I don't care at all about a new quantum DPS though, because Qingque is my favorite character and the whole team is for her. My best bet is another support to capitalize on already quantum weak enemies, instead of using Silver Wolf to force the team anywhere.
At this point to fix a hp support for blade that doesn’t give the 4 star a huge boost even tho he needs it. It’s to just let the characters get buffs from how many times they can take hp away from themselves or others. The faster they take hp from themselves or others they get a stack/buff/boost to increase damage
I feel like the main issue is that Seele is sorta an aoe dps and Silver Wolf is entirely single-target. Like, if SW's skill had like a 50% chance to apply in a blast, that would help out Seele so much and SW wouldn't be as obsolete in general. We also weren't expecting Fu Xuan to get power crept so fast.
I started playing around 2.0 because i want sparkle and want to build mono quantum, but as the game progresses i don't think saving for a 2nd silverwolf rerun is worth anymore. The game just caters towards break and FuA and nothing else, any other team comp will have bruteforce it. I really hate the fact that MoC just skyrockets in boss HP scaling too fast and the buff they provide are so specific, if you wanna low cycle something, you have to use the intended playstyle/ have high eidolons to bruteforce it.
built mono quantum just because i fucking love qingque and silver wolf and then got really confused when they became my meta pick and now qingque is sitting on the shelf
Makes me sad that it's only a year in and i barely ever use qingque again as she is my first dps... But ik i'm gonna be pulling the moment they come out with a character that plays around entangled, it has so much potential
In my opinion, the mono quantum team has failed because it lacks versatility. The only character dealing damage is Seele or Qingque, while newer teams, like Dr. Ratio's FUA team and Firefly's break effect team, have all members contributing significant or even massive damage to enemies. The more damage you can deal, the better, especially since new modes and enemies have much higher HP and tougher standards than before.
I sincerely think monofire has potential. rn i just need to get the core piece: Firefly but the compo has: sustain+ break: Gallager implant: firefly buff to fire: Asta, Yaoqiu detonate burn: Guinaifen def reduction: yaoqiu, gui easy break with multi hit: Asta.
imo all mono quantum needs to be back into the meta is just a quantum dps that matches the power level of current dps characters.. and no, i dont mean a fua or break character, just your standard hypercarry
I think mono quantum is good, it just needs more love. I think at a minimum it needs a new character, most likely a 5* destruction. The elements are there, they just need something (someone) to tie it together.
I think you forgot that break teams exist. The firefly team actively strives to be mono. Having more characters that are fire allows for faster breaking of toughness bars. And this works great because of weakness implant. The future of mono is break teams.
only thing we need for mono teams are a brand new relic set that encourages it. like "if there are 3 teammates that shares the same element with the wearer, wearer gains some debuffs" kind of relic set. and it MUST surpass the quantum set. like it should give crit atk or element damage AND def ignore (preferably a bit higher value than quantum set) because releasing new characters to fix something is not cool, its overused and boring...
I remember I started out in 1.0 and pulled Seele, I loved her gameplay. After 1.0 I stopped playing and came back for the tail end of 2.0, and am playing til this day. I pulled sparkle hearing she’s good for Mono Quantum, I pulled Fu xuan… but my Seele just isn’t good enough for any endgame aside of maybe PF. Sure, her Relics aren’t anything to brag about and I use her on the Herta store LC, but it’s just so much easier to clear with Acheron or Firefly. Now I regret pulling Fu Xuan because it made me not have enough jades for ruan Mei and I use sparkle with Acheron and Yunli. Seele is on the bench. I thought she would have a good use in the Aventurine first half of current apoc, but though she cleared the cubes fast, he Damage plummeted once it came to the single target damage against the boss with no cubes to procc resurgence. I was so excited to make her work, wanting to pull her LC on her rerun, but I feel like the only way to make her work is to slave away in her relic domain and pull for eidolons.
Compare this to Genshin, where sure, some characters are outdated like Eula, but then there’s also characters like Xiao and Hu Tao who are still relevant in version 5 because of the supports they received. I still use both of them regularly even if I have neuvilette, Raien, Mualani. But in HSR units become outdated incredibly quickly unless you really vertically invest into them.
I have E2S1 Fu Xuan, S1 Sparkle and hyperinvested in my Seele relics, and she still isn't strong enough for endgame 9/10 times. She does like 280k max with her ult. While Superbreak Sampo/Sushang with cheap builds are here dealing 150k with a single skill.
@@darksplash873 Some characters are outdated because of a change in design, but powercreep isn't that bad, they're just different games. I don't think Genshin is all about building fully synergistic teams where everyone has follow ups or applies dots.
my QQ can keep up with acheron team, break team or fua team... but i will wait until quantum have super break damage dps... and that will be the rise of mono quantum... maybe mommy herta is nihility quantom super break ?
I don't a comeback for mono quantum is that unlikely as i think the only piece thats missing for now is a dedicated Dps character that isnt from 1.0 (sorry QQ and Seele powercreep got to ya) As long as a new main-dps 5 star quantum character releases i think every other support is still good enough in the current meta. SW is used in acheron teams Sparkle is still used in hypercarry and Fu quan is still considered a great sustain if not a little worse than Aventurine And i think theres alot of potential to making a character based purely on utilizing Entangle. i imagine a mix between Firefly and Kafka where its a break dps that can trigger extra entangle explosions. Lets just hope hoyo wont abandon the entire element to only be support units
I don't know about you, but my mono quantum still work wonders. Idc about the time since there's no reward for clearing fastest as long as I can 3 stars it. I only got problem with the last stage of every endgame contents, but everything else before it are doable to be max by mono quantum. I got FuA team anyway so there's that.
The mono quantum buff sparkle has is a joke of a trace really 45% more attack? That's not even as much as Bronyas ult where she gives it to everyone unconditionally it would be more fitting if it was like Res pen
Mono quantum really carried me in the early days, I wanted Fu Xuan but lost the chance. Nowadays I'm saving on Aventurine, having all my quantum units benches sadly.
the problem with mono quantum is that it isn't an actual archetype the devs intented for, i believe. At best it was an afterthought of SW's skill mechanics, a "lol what if a player runs all quantum". The only way they "fix" mono quantum is by releasing better quantum units because they don't care for it to be an actual archetype like break or FUA. It's inevitable and i doubt they care to do anything about it.
Idea of an ice nihility that applies freeze and is a dot support Basic-deals ice damage to single target Skill-blast- freezes enemies with 65% effect hit rate and advances enemies forward by 50%. Skill also applies frostbite to enemies which pauses debuff duration (except itself) and deals damage on enemy turn( counts as dot) Ult-applies freeze to enemies and advances enemies forward by 50% Ult applies frostburn which records all damage before an enemy takes a turn and duplicates 25% of recorded damage on enemies turn lasts for 3 turns not affected by frost bites pause also counts as dot. Talent immobilized enemies take 50% more damage Trace 1 enemies affected enemies take atk% dmg from allies Trace 2 ehr into dmg bonus Trace 3 on enemies turn dmg dealt by allies gain 20% res pen This is a half baked idea sorry

Mono Quantum really has a lot of SHORTcomings, it really needs a new HIGH impact carry to ELEVATE their performance to new HEIGHTS.

I guess that's why they are still good in their respective modes (Xueyi in AS and Seele in PF) without mono quantum needed 😆

Mini quantum si definitely one of the team comps of all time, QQ can still force her way through enemies
Jade
It still performs respectably even if it’s fallen out of the meta, it really just needs a dps more with the times than Selee to be very good again.
idk my qq seems to be holding up well in first half
The moment Mihoyo decided to give DPS units built-in weakness implants like Firefly, mono quantum already lost its edge. Mono quantum really needs a better DPS than can take full advantage Sparkle and make Fu Xuan more favored. Lingsha and Aventurine are better than Fu Xuan currently because they are sustains with desirable niches (Break and FUA). Sparkle could've been as good as Robin and Ruan Mei if Mihoyo cared to make a good Quantum DPS in 2024.
@oppa5346 You stated the need yourself, they needed to release Robin and Sunday, and Sparkle took the hit.
@@AzureDrag0n1There’s Xueyi too as a quantum dps, pairs well with SW
About the new path, leaks suggest otherwise 💀

@@rhiel1728 you are so valid for this
mono quantum didn’t get weaker the enemies just got way stronger and tanker while mono quantum itself never got any supports to help them out and stay relevant.
Unironically, Misha sustain stonks could rise. He does have an eidolon where there's def shred on his ult too.
i feel like they shot themselves in the foot with DoT by having only Lightning, fire, phys and wind be DoT types.
Now, they could add more but then stuff like BS's E1 would lose a lot of value, though i guess that's not too big of a problem cause you'd probalby not want to use triple DoT and kafka should be a mainstay in DoT teams unless they literally just make kafka pro max, so your DoT team would be Kafka, DoT DPS, DoT support, DoT sustain (praying for the last one the most honestly.) LEAK TALK AHEAD
Unrelated, if they powercreep kafka i'mma be mad, i'm not asking for her to be meta for the remainder of the game but please don't let her become the DoT's equivalent of SW, not for a bit, we haven't had any time to use her either as DoT has only been sorta alive since black swan, it's already getting fucked and 3.x will be summon meta.
we do have a sus leak of a quantum DoT healer (which sounds insane to me but whatever, could just say fuck it make it count as bleed or some shit.) and 3 new 5* Nihility units in the beginning of 3.X, so i have hope.

Qingque is my favorite character in the game. I’ll never let her go
I just went back to building this team again yesterday! It's going to be so much fun to shred everything now that I have SW's energy lightcone.
Kinda wish I had Fuxuan instead of Lynx but we've got a lot of offensive support sets now.

@@ladyhdwastakenima build her more when I get more eidolons for her
Glad to see people here loves Qingque.
QINGQUE MENTIONED!!!!!!
I believe mono quantum team would be back if they released a 5* quantum destruction or nihility that can reduce the toughness bar of enemies regardless of weakness and can also take full advantage of sparkle's buffs.
I mean e6 xueyi's pretty good at that too imo, tho shes not 5* :]
Isn't that just Xueyi ? But you need spoon with lot of break effect on her relics .
Also i sincerely hope they give us an ice abundance character soon so i can have all paths of ice!
Man I swear I love your thumbnails lmao. It's so adorable and hilarious
I remember cheesing through Simulated Universe with the Remembrance Path and using March 7th (Ice) and having her Ult Freeze enemies endlessly.
ice nihility that implants a deep freeze debuff, that decreases freeze and ice resist by a lot, gives a special debuff that increases damage when freeze is applied on already frozen characters and applies exo toughness, freezing for one more turn
and thus mono ice is born with teams that don't necessarily require a sustain or ice weakness if enough characters can apply freeze
-- Propagation unlocking at the end also meant normal SU runs were much easier for that team, helping with the planar ornament grind
- Qingque's tile drawing counted as "taking an action", meaning certain blessing that triggered for consecutive actions applied to her. This also charged special abilities like path resonance and boss special attacks, giving her a unique benefit for having bad luck on tile drawing
- Before Sparkle, there were good options as other supports. Tingyun and Pela were great buffers / debuffers and skill point generators, especially if you were running into enemies with their respective elements. The weekly bosses all had elements that could work well with a psuedo-quantum team until Sparkle's addition
That said, while I know a lot of more recent teams all feed into each other (especially FuA and Break), I personally think that's less on Mono Quantum and more on a departure from the Hypercarry team.
If a future character could apply the "disassociation" debuff when the enemies are frozen maybe ice type would be saved
@Undead_Grius i think you missed how super break works. They can already be broken to deal super break.
Mono quantum is not a real archetype, it’s just Seele or Qinque hypercarry lol, which def has better options now as Silverwolf has unfortunately been eclipsed by current options.

ah yes, silver wolf aka the biggest HSR scam where everyone thought she was THE kazuha of HSR only to have her kits being built-in on more than half of the damage units in the 2.0 era.
Mono quantum. Still use it.

OMG MINI QUANTUM MENTIONED!! I LOVE MY GIRLIES!!!
So having bosses be controlled a bit isn't that absurd.
jingliu, pela, ruan mei, gepard/march? technically a team, sort of, somewhat, maybe would work
(yangqinq can be replace jingliu if someone doesn't have her, or misha for area damage)
It will be good if there another DPS that is like Yunli counter
Poor me not enough tickets to get Fu Xuan .
I quite like xueyi's kit though? it's pretty good against swarm boss
@@theangryepicbanana Indeed . I just edit my comment .
It seems like Hoyo is going to just be jumping from meta to meta leaving old units to be useless in current MoC.
Mono Quantum -> Destruction -> DoT -> Break -> Summons
Mono Quantum was surprisingly good in 2.7's Apocalyptic Shadow tho. It's not MoC, but since it's an endgame mode i guess it kinda counts.
I feel like a nihility support that can apply disassociation (like the SU remembrance blessings) could help make a mono freeze team become somewhat meta
Probably add something like activating quantum entanglement damage immediately everytime the enemy getting attacked
Seele and Qinqe use a lot of skill points and Fu Xuan/SW/Sparkle are highly SP positive (and sparkle gives extra damage per SP usage)
If a new Quantum dps that uses a lot of SP comes out, it could scale into a complete beast.
4:48 i genuinely got jumpscared because this is the exact team comp (and team order) i used to beat that exact Aventuring AS lmao
I could see a Support who turned Frozen into the Dissociation effect from sim-U giving Ice types a boost... At least a bit.
Onto the main point, honestly I think the only reason Mono Quantum got as far as it did was because of how bonkers the Quantum set was/is. Once other units started getting a remotely comparable set to use it was inevitable that Mono-Quantum would fall and fall hard.
i regret getting silver wolf a lot bc i thought she could help me with my lack of elements at the time by changing the weakness
when i got her i realized how limited she actually was
shes kinda sitting abandoned at the moment
shes the FIRST character i regret
not even regretting jingyuan but even he is getting a buff soon making him even more useful
i wish we had more viable archetypes and that the buffs from the various endgame activities (SU, PF, MoC, AS) made those other archetype viable. I think as a new player what hurts diversity the most is the lack of access to good defence units. If you werent around for aventurine and skipped Fu xuan you end up facing challenges that expect you to survive a lot so if your janky comp unable to quickly push huge dps is going to struggle
MONO QUANTUM FUCKING MENTIONED! QQ MY GOAT
I really hate the fact that MoC just skyrockets in boss HP scaling too fast and the buff they provide are so specific, if you wanna low cycle something, you have to use the intended playstyle/ have high eidolons to bruteforce it.
built mono quantum just because i fucking love qingque and silver wolf
and then got really confused when they became my meta pick
and now qingque is sitting on the shelf
Makes me sad that it's only a year in and i barely ever use qingque again as she is my first dps... But ik i'm gonna be pulling the moment they come out with a character that plays around entangled, it has so much potential
In my opinion, the mono quantum team has failed because it lacks versatility. The only character dealing damage is Seele or Qingque, while newer teams, like Dr. Ratio's FUA team and Firefly's break effect team, have all members contributing significant or even massive damage to enemies. The more damage you can deal, the better, especially since new modes and enemies have much higher HP and tougher standards than before.
i still remember in 1.3-4 being sad about not getting silverwolf (Lost 50/50)
Now even dan heng survived longer than seele
one qingqillion damage please
As someone who only used mono quantum… I fully forgot it existed
I sincerely think monofire has potential. rn i just need to get the core piece: Firefly
but the compo has:
sustain+ break: Gallager
implant: firefly
buff to fire: Asta, Yaoqiu
detonate burn: Guinaifen
def reduction: yaoqiu, gui
easy break with multi hit: Asta.
Mono quantum when robin and ruan mei walk in
Gremlin team let's go!!!!
I cheer for QQ every single day!!
can you do a video on team synergy because I'm so confused on how to tell if your team is good aside from damage numbers
imo all mono quantum needs to be back into the meta is just a quantum dps that matches the power level of current dps characters.. and no, i dont mean a fua or break character, just your standard hypercarry
4:10 let's not forget the increased toughness reduction
I think mono types could really shine in sim universe if they decided to add an order path or something
Honestly, all they need to do is somehow implement "Dissociation" into the game outside of the SU.
I think mono quantum is good, it just needs more love. I think at a minimum it needs a new character, most likely a 5* destruction. The elements are there, they just need something (someone) to tie it together.
The title is amazing, at first I thought they meant it's a good team comp, and later realise they actually meant the team comp is literally dead
I think you forgot that break teams exist. The firefly team actively strives to be mono. Having more characters that are fire allows for faster breaking of toughness bars. And this works great because of weakness implant. The future of mono is break teams.
I cant really see firefly doing a mono team? besides lingsha and gallagher there arent really any characters you can replace HTB or ruanmei with?
@@davidjohansson4556 Fugue will fill that role
only thing we need for mono teams are a brand new relic set that encourages it. like "if there are 3 teammates that shares the same element with the wearer, wearer gains some debuffs" kind of relic set. and it MUST surpass the quantum set. like it should give crit atk or element damage AND def ignore (preferably a bit higher value than quantum set)
because releasing new characters to fix something is not cool, its overused and boring...
Mono Imaginary Break can be a thing now thanks to Rappa and HMC.
I don't a comeback for mono quantum is that unlikely as i think the only piece thats missing for now is a dedicated Dps character that isnt from 1.0 (sorry QQ and Seele powercreep got to ya)
As long as a new main-dps 5 star quantum character releases i think every other support is still good enough in the current meta.
SW is used in acheron teams
Sparkle is still used in hypercarry and
Fu quan is still considered a great sustain if not a little worse than Aventurine
And i think theres alot of potential to making a character based purely on utilizing Entangle. i imagine a mix between Firefly and Kafka where its a break dps that can trigger extra entangle explosions.
I remember everyone in 1.0 was talking about how Mono Quantum would rule the game until EoS. Lol.
Video: Ice is bad in Star Rail
Genshin: First time?
Mono quantum really carried me in the early days, I wanted Fu Xuan but lost the chance. Nowadays I'm saving on Aventurine, having all my quantum units benches sadly.
the problem with mono quantum is that it isn't an actual archetype the devs intented for, i believe. At best it was an afterthought of SW's skill mechanics, a "lol what if a player runs all quantum". The only way they "fix" mono quantum is by releasing better quantum units because they don't care for it to be an actual archetype like break or FUA.
It's inevitable and i doubt they care to do anything about it.
Idea of an ice nihility that applies freeze and is a dot support
Basic-deals ice damage to single target
Skill-blast- freezes enemies with 65% effect hit rate and advances enemies forward by 50%. Skill also applies frostbite to enemies which pauses debuff duration (except itself) and deals damage on enemy turn( counts as dot)
Ult-applies freeze to enemies and advances enemies forward by 50% Ult applies frostburn which records all damage before an enemy takes a turn and duplicates 25% of recorded damage on enemies turn lasts for 3 turns not affected by frost bites pause also counts as dot.
Talent immobilized enemies take 50% more damage
Trace 1 enemies affected enemies take atk% dmg from allies
Trace 2 ehr into dmg bonus
Trace 3 on enemies turn dmg dealt by allies gain 20% res pen
This is a half baked idea sorry
