Who's here in 2020? For me I've always loved Genesis, especially the albums from the 70s and 80s. These guys just ooze class and professionalism.......Will never tire of their music or presence.
Phil did say in a separate interview that his favourite part of the tour was that they were laughing so much together. He said he missed it, and he was even surprised that Tony was as loose as funny as he was during this tour. I think if he hadn't had the health issues towards the end of the tour, he would've done some more shows with them sooner than he did.
Thank you so much, 2022 Genesis and Phil still THE BEST forever. We love you forever too. From Paris..., Thanks with all my Respect forever too ! Take care of yourself above all. Peace and Love.
No bs, I was stunned the first time I saw him in some videos and pictures from the 70s. He was like an angel! Then he aged so beautifully. What a handsome guy, fr❤
I'll never forget, while looking through a pair of binoculars, slightly behind stage, I saw Phil Collins spill a glass of water at a Genesis concert at the LA Forum around 1982 or 1983. will never forget it.
I seen many pictures and video of Tony smiling and laughing. When feels comfortable with the poeple he around he smiles . He very serious about the music and playing of the of instrument. The video of Throwing It All Away you see Tony relaxed and silly.
He’s right about the varilights, that was the first time I saw them and they didn’t even use them for the first song or two. And suddenly these lights, a row down each side of the stage I think, all turned to point up to the middle or something, and it was the most exciting and dramatic thing I’d ever seen. Plus they changed color. Their use on that tour was so tasteful.
That was one of the biggest leaps in lighting technology ever. Much has been written about Phil's influence on the sound of the 80s, but little has been written about Genesis' influence on the look of every rock concert since they decided to fund Varilight R&D
Yes , Tony is cool! But in several interview s he very introverted person. Until this video because he’s with people feels very comfortable being around. That’s how it is for aintroverted person many times .
'..send the singer up' ....Mr B thanks for un-hiding your sense of humour...brilliant. Great to see the guys enjoying themselves. Thanks for posting this.
Great band right the start with steve and pete prog years was great still great live went they went poppy nice to see them all back together and having fun didn't no tony could have so much fun great shows as always all great musicians good video of what goes on
Tony has a serious eye for lighting and stage design, if hes the one determining the line between good old genesis spectacle and theatrics versus going too far and being gaudy. Very few bands ride that line as good as Genesis did!
Banks , c est vraiment le meilleur musicien que j ai pu voir en concert. Quand tu écoutes, tu as quitté la terre, tu es dans Genesis. Et il faut attendre 10 ans pour revoir cela.
Banksian Central Yes! This is me... I like the editing that you did. I always tried to catch Tony smiling also with my photography. This is the best documentary done on the band! Did you see my app? Genesis i now What I Like? This is the link: bit.ly/genesis-ipad-app
Armando Gallo Wow, OK. Thanks for your kind words, sir. Glad my editing skills weren't too bad. I agree that this documentary was fantastic. Yes, I've seen your App. I want to get it at some point, but don't own the appropriate hardware to use it at the moment...But from what I've seen and heard it looks fantastic. Great job there!
very interesting to see the personalities behind the scenes but I would have liked to have seen more music clips. Not necessarily full songs just hear some of the music in these.
It's funny how Tony says the vari lites were amazing in the 80s but now are ubiquitous, when no one seems to use them to such stunning effect as Genesis themselves did in the 80s...
"see, yuz guys are in a caravan what flies through the air like in Hitchiker's guide to the galaxy", Tony says "but I get Vertigo" ha ha ha!! glad Genesis have been grounded enough to simply say "no" to probably all kinds of entertainment coke head ideas through the years.
You forget or do not know that the person submitting the idea is Mark Fisher (RIP) who has designed some of the most innovative and unique stages that have ever toured. Having worked on production crews and met Mark several times, I can truly say: He was not some coke head. See here: www.stufish.com/
sturoc0 yhea, his work is beyond brilliant. The Genesis and Pink Floyd stages he designed are my all time favorites. The Metallica stage is pretty awesome too.
Ich glaube den Bandmitgliedern ging es in erster Linie immer um die Musik und nicht so sehr um die Präsentation und das ist auch gut so. Effekthascherei gibt es schon genug - lieberQualität.
Hin Bieger ludicrous!! That tour was sad. Crappy set list, changing the key of songs to suit Phil's aging voice. Thank God he still kicks ass on the drums though.
No Genesis without Tony Banks
I've said the same thing, many times.
prog's greatest melodicist.
Truth!!!
Who's here in 2020? For me I've always loved Genesis, especially the albums from the 70s and 80s. These guys just ooze class and professionalism.......Will never tire of their music or presence.
Genesis sin Tony, sería como un árbol sin raíces.
Banks is my hero and I’m a drummer, just love his inventive and unique keyboard sounds, playing and songwriting.
Lo amo, el es el sonido Genesis... sin duda
It’s cool to see a documentary from the eyes of Tony Banks. It gives you a different perspective of Genesis.
P.S. Really good to see the smiley, human side of Tony Banks too. Probably my favourite member of Genesis and still great looking too.
Absolutely loved that tour. Saw them 9 times. They were really still having fun as well. Great times.
Omg I love watching their rehearsal so funny Tony Mike and Phil are.
I’ve always fancied Tony Banks he’s incredibly handsome 💕
Just love them...pure class. That's about it really!
Good to see the guys laughing together so much. 😅

@@GenesisFan01 Yeah, sigh. 😉♥️
"Ehm... I do suffer quite badly from vertigo!" :D And he seems to enjoy so much destroying their plans... Tony is simply the best! :D
You can tell that he wasn't a fan of the pyrotechnics either. "Ozzieish" 🤣
10 million $ stage Mike's not happy with the curve.
watching this just makes us miss them more, thanks for posting.
This video is exactly 22:22 minutes and seconds long. I love Mr. Tony Banks. Thank you for posting. Peace!
What an excellent document. It feels we are part of the rehearsal. Thanks a lot (-:
Glad you enjoyed it.
@@BanksianCentral Wish I could meet Tony one afternoon, for no special reason, just to enjoy the feeling of being so like-minded.
GREAT PROG BAND GENESIS ONE OF MYS FAVORITES BANDS FOLLOWING FROM 70s
GOOD TIMES 👋
I replayed those radio bloopers at the end more times than I can count
Thank you so much, 2022 Genesis and Phil still THE BEST forever. We love you forever too. From Paris..., Thanks with all my Respect forever too ! Take care of yourself above all. Peace and Love.
No doubt about it Tony is still an absolutely gorgeous looking guy - every handsome indeed truly a stunner and I envy his wife the lucky lucky lady.
Your so right! I believe this is even more true because his tremendous talent.
No bs, I was stunned the first time I saw him in some videos and pictures from the 70s. He was like an angel! Then he aged so beautifully. What a handsome guy, fr❤
.... God Bless these British lads .... cannot thank them enough how I became part of them and viceversa ....
I'll never forget, while looking through a pair of binoculars, slightly behind stage, I saw Phil Collins spill a glass of water at a Genesis concert at the LA Forum around 1982 or 1983. will never forget it.
Living it up!
Genesis does not just create a song but also takes into account artistic lighting & stage decorations in every performance .. GOOD JOB TEAM WORK 👏👏👏
Love this man. The best, period.
Absolutely brilliant Tony, thanks for this!
Tony always looks like he has a million new ideas in his head that he is waiting to unload on us....
I only know Tony from his music. This shows some of his personality that is good to see.
Love these guys....
I always smile and crack up a bit when Mike backs up when Phil was trying to sing In Too Deep :P
Only Tony taking that initial get-together seriously!
I seen many pictures and video of Tony smiling and laughing. When feels comfortable with the poeple he around he smiles . He very serious about the music and playing of the of instrument. The video of Throwing It All Away you see Tony relaxed and silly.

The long songs are long -love it Tony!
Genesis always had a first class concert sound system and acoustics. Sound checks are a must.
Tony is one cool dude. 😎
Yes , Tony is cool! But in several interview s he very introverted person. Until this video because he’s with people feels very comfortable being around. That’s how it is for aintroverted person many times .
I love how every footage of them looking at the stage rig shows them staring up with whiplash effect because of how huge it is!🤣
'..send the singer up' ....Mr B thanks for un-hiding your sense of humour...brilliant. Great to see the guys enjoying themselves. Thanks for posting this.
Tony the most important of GENESIS,,He is GENESIS
@Nelson Robert Willis this band worked out so wonderful probably because the inputs of the members came together in an "own special way". 😉
Best video of the internet
Nicely edited , and fun.
whish we could go back in time
"You have a 4-string? Give it to Daryl." Killed me! Hahaha! Thanks for the upload!

Great band right the start with steve and pete prog years was great still great live went they went poppy nice to see them all back together and having fun didn't no tony could have so much fun great shows as always all great musicians good video of what goes on
Thanks for this. It really is all about Tony
“I suffer quite badly from vertigo.”
He doesn't like flying. One of the reasons he's been prepared to drive 400 miles between US venues.
The close of the sketch pad immediately following that remark is perfect. (4:15)
Contrary to expectations Mike seems at least as grumpy as Tony.
I am very proud of u tony 😀
Dont say your not natural on stage because to me you are
pemain keyboard,IDOLA GUE
1.clasicnya kental banget
2.komposisinya romantis
3.soundnya elegan.
banyak belajar dari Tony banks.
Is it cinema show? Tony is a genuis!
Tony Banks was the seminal musician of Genesis.
Awesome...Thanks for posting !!
You uploaded this, way long before anybody else cool Dino 🙌👍👏👏 and i watch this today ,8 years later 😌😭😬🙄🤣
I'm ahead of the game, Diiey. 😂
Tks for posting, very funny
5:14 Love that double neck Mike has.
I would have loved to have seen the band in a capsule implementation! LOL.
Chester Thompson is a drumgod
The great Patrick Woodroffe, in charge of Genesis stage!!! Don't know if this is the famous illustrator...Anyway, this is a Gem...
Fantastic!
Magical
This is a tease, funny guys!
Oh Phil, take care of yourself.
Labor of love. very nice!
Armando Gallo If this is THE Armando Gallo it's very awesome to get a comment from you! Glad you enjoyed the video.

Banksian Central What the fuck man! What do I have too do to push you into the future!....................................... One Love, Armndo
Armando Gallo Hmm, not the response I was expecting. What can I say I just own a laptop. I plan to get it one day when I can.
very interesting to see the personalities behind the scenes but I would have liked to have seen more music clips. Not necessarily full songs just hear some of the music in these.
Tony merci pour tes albums Classiques wow tu es génial mon ami ! et ceux de Genesis , évidemment !!! Tu es aussi génial que Brahms et Beethoven
Had to laugh at the stage pod suggestion - vintage Spinal Tap.
Se darán cuenta de verdad estos tipos de las maravillas que le han dado a la humanidad?
Tony: I suffer quite badly from vertigo
Everyone else: DAMN IT TONY YOU RUIN EVERYTHING
Me:*dead*
It's funny how Tony says the vari lites were amazing in the 80s but now are ubiquitous, when no one seems to use them to such stunning effect as Genesis themselves did in the 80s...
It was cool in the &0. It was new and they where the band developed it. Now you can do all that with computer.
I always claim the same : there is no such thing as Gabriel era and Collins era ... Genesis has just one era.
7:15 respectfull phil
15:50 That flame is some funny stuff. Reminds me of the Rolling Stones' Devil Head cart on the Simpsons show.

7:15 "without the other guys"
Realmente sería uno de mis sueños hablar con algunos de ustedes aunque sea unos minutos, eso si necesitaría un traductor jaja. Genios
ricardo ariel aquino teiler a mi tambien.
Maybe they should of asked the boys before they bought the pyro ? Only a million dollars thrown away
*BIG GRIN*
Geniales, por siempre, inolvidables
2:31 It's not easy to cry at the top of my voice, is it?
What a beautiful atmosphere these three guys create... I am a fun of YES.... but they never seem happy...... never this kind of camaraderie
Great keyboard player....and one expensive production
One gigantic Angle poise lamp would have looked better and highlighted the band more.
6:34 phil :)
0:22
2:10
Calling all stations ?
I wonder who's McLaren F1 that is.
There' s a tension between Tony Banks and one of the crusty old event organisers; the one with darker hair.
Ich glaube den Bandmitgliedern ging es in erster Linie immer um die Musik und nicht so sehr um die Präsentation und das ist auch gut so.
Effekthascherei gibt es schon genug - lieberQualität.
I can't believe they actually talk and listen to the drummer!...
@Nelson Robert Willis I meant Phil but I guess any drummer for that matter
Why do "no son of mine"??
Englishmen speaking english...sure as eggs is eggs.
Oh dear, Phil's voice has gone down, over an octave, can't reach the notes anymore. Even with this they are still great.
Tony Smith makes Peter Grant look like a wuss.
Tony and Mike worried about a curve in the stage? Give me a break
Jay John it’s because they are used to stand in a line for eye contact. If the stage is curved then this is harder to do.
Waaay too much spent on the stage & lights!!
And they didn't even use it to it's full potential. The 92 tour has much better lighting cues.
Hin Bieger doesn't make sense. So expensive that they don't break even until halfway through the tour??
The 2007 stage cost 10 million.
Hin Bieger ludicrous!! That tour was sad. Crappy set list, changing the key of songs to suit Phil's aging voice. Thank God he still kicks ass on the drums though.
Hin Bieger an alternate set list of lesser played songs would have been better IMO.
I used to love their stage and light shows, but this one just looks random and awful
señores Tony banks es el Mozart del siglo xx y del XXI al igual que Génesis el mejor grupo de la historia en la musica
