That's the 'nicest' I've seen Noel and great to hear him speak so warmly about Liam. There's still hope for the future?! Great interviewing by Rob too!
Met Noel Gallagher outside a pub in Highgate about 15 years ago. I think I went up to him to talk to him, and he actually took time away from his mates to have a brief chat with me. So down to earth.
Never watched a Rob Brydon interview before. He was brilliant. Funny, let Noel talk, got stories out of him and also just kept it light and fun. Subbed
Love that Noel felt like a competition winner when he met Jerry Seinfeld, but didn’t even blink whilst sending a picture of himself and Bruce Springsteen to Bono 🤣 Really great interview.
This was Beautiful to Watch Cheers Rob, your a bloody legend for this channel. Watching WILTY clips over and over is great, but this is much more intimate
How am I only finding this channel now?!? I love Rob Brydon and he has had some fantastic guests on too, with not many views. This channel needs more recognition.
Rob has this great thing of bringing out the realness of celebrity. The interview looked like 2 great friends just having a conversation,It's probably the only time I've seen Noel (and I've seen loads of his interviews) being so sincere and not his sardonic arrogant nonchalant interview persona. Rob & Noel on stage together? now that would be something I'd like to see. Brydon & ... The best pod on RUclips
Only just come to your channel recently Rob. And I've got to say, it's a fabulous watch ! You should have your own chatshow on telly. Brilliant, how you get the best out of your guest's. Noel in particular, is definitely a favourite of mine. His music with Oasis back in the day, shaped a generation i grew up with. His music now, is his freedom of expression that touches many of us who grew up listening to his unique awesome style as a songwriter. One of the best of our time.
Excellent interview cheers lads! I've watched quite a few Noel interviews and although he's definitely a very direct, straight talking fella he always comes across as a genuinely great bloke.
Hey Rob! I’ve recently become a big fan of yours through Would I Lie to You - an American with no idea how good that show is. Thank you for doing this - especially with Noel. As a musician and singer, Noel had such a big impact in my life. Really cool to see this
What a totally brilliant interview. Definitely no ego's just two 50 odd year old chatting and telling stories. That ladies and gentlemen is how life should be. Not this Instagram/Facebook shite.
Yes, RB is very very experienced host these days and knows just what he's doing. I suspect with a little extra polish he could have a good extra career as an interviewer, using that must be a very extensive list of people he knows both socially and through his WILTY role. With his quirky humour and impression ability to liven things along a bit it could a whole lot of fun. The key is gaining trust from your guest/interview subjects and Rob has that ability in spades. As we see here - Noel is confident and relaxed in his familiar surrounds and able to be no-one but himself. Brilliant.
Noel is like a younger generation Michael Caine when it comes to storytelling. This reminded my of my early teens listening to Slade, The Sweet, Mud, Wizzard etc. Strangly, decades later, one of my schoolfriends became lead singer of The Sweet! I love Welsh language rock stuff, people like Meic Stevens and Geraint Jarman been around since the 60s. One of my all time favourite tracks is a more recent thing, Gwely Hudol, by Dom.
If you listen to the old russel brand radio shows from 2006 up until when it finished 2008 they ring him nearly every show and he's hilarious in those.
He has mellowed now. In the past he described himself as a "right c@nt you really would not want to be around" which is a big part of why the band split up. Which he did deliberately. Control - he has to have it and he could not dominate Liam, so he shut it down. Killed the biggest band in recent history - so yes, a bit of a c$nt.
@@Spartanm333 Liam is a moronic man child buffoon. That's what destroyed the band. Touring and recording with a 5 year old will do that to the musical and lyrical brains behind the band. Noel got fed up babysitting a baby.
@@kifwoo1 Wrong. You need to listen and learn to read. The whole band got up to antics including Noel who has admitted he took every drug and tablet that was offered to him. That's rock and roll. At the studio, Liam was a dream, one take he smashed it. Noel killed the band because he didn't want to share the toys with his baby brother who was a better front man, better singer, more stylish, more media pull and critically, more liked by the fans - he has said this as a matter of record. He thought he didn't need Oasis any more... his solo career has proved that a mistake. And it was Liam and Bonehead's band originally. Noel was late to the party, a roadie at 28. Together they created magic, we all can agree on that. Noel acted like a spoilt, arrogant twat in the final years and he ended Oasis - my point.
I don't know whether it was triggered by the Knebworth documentary or Liam's current success, but Noel seems to talk about Liam with less anger these days. He sounds reflective and almost affectionate and mentions Liam more and more in interviews. It's a bit sad when you consider they haven't had an actual conversation in 12 years.
I think it is part the documentary but more the fact that Liam has toned down his personal criticism of Noel and his family on Twitter. Something Noel alluded to in a recent Jo Whiley interview, although he still said the relationship between them was 'done'.
When are you going to interview David Mitchell? He can't be that busy supervising comedians murdering trees that he can't make time for his WILTY buddy? Mind I suppose you could always just do a solo one where you interview yourself doing a Mitchell impression ...
I loved this, the chat was great and genuine. No bullshit just genuine chat about life. Seems like chats get better the older people get! Thanks Rob for a great interview, well not an interview more a chat. I have seen a few of your interviews now, great job!
Yer just can't not like this bloke....talented, modest, yet knows his place in music history will never be altered and he only keeps getting better...good on you Noel and great interview, thanks Rob...🙂
Noel & Grohl - maybe…? definitely…! It even sounds good already… and a studio tour, mics, mic pres… plug ins, outboard ❤️👍🙏 Heineken with Harrison, meeting McCartney awesome

Yeah, how about....no.
the fact that David Mitchell refuses to join this podcast goes to prove how shitty this series really is
Does it sound better? You both have poor microphone technique!
Was good while it lasted. Now moved to spotify? Not signing up/into yet another medium.
@@jhogrute Serious question, why are you here commenting on it?
That's the 'nicest' I've seen Noel and great to hear him speak so warmly about Liam. There's still hope for the future?! Great interviewing by Rob too!
Not really. He gives him credit for being a good singer at the time, but he still hates him.
@@endezeichengrimm who can blame him. Liam always comes across like an arsehole and Noel always seems chill
They both speak nicely of each other in interviews and Noel recently said he’d be down to getting back together

Met him in LA many years ago and i literally said “ Hows your mum doing?” off the bat Had a 5 minute chat about Irish mothers. Nice lad
How is it that Noel is so down to earth, and yet has such a huge ego at the same time 😂
He’s an enigma
He's probably the easiest person in the world to interview.Every interview of his is an entertaining watch.
Because he sends himself up with the ego stuff
Because he has confidence not ego.. Big difference
But he is an enigma haha

I've been lucky to discover Noel is a great guy. He's very friendly, humble and easy to chat with. Wonderful!

Yep. Agreed. A funny, easy going interview. A really good series. And a really good episode. Noel has so much to tell! Fascinating!

One of the best Noel interviews I’ve seen , super chilled
Also rob should do a comedians in cars with Jerry Seinfeld 100%
would love to see Noel as a guest on Would I Lie To You
HA I reckon he and Lee would have a good laff - most likely at RB and DM's expense! But it would make for some fun TV, no doubt.
They must have asked him, surely? Maybe he'll do it now Oasis are back together.
I bet he’d have incredulous stories even more fantastic than Bob Mortimer.
Two masters of their craft having a conversation. Wonderful.
