This show meant a whole lot to me growing up. I was about 10 when it first aired, and I simply got lost in it. Great characters and great stars including Bernie Hamilton. Rumor has it that he was a down to earth man in real life. RIP to David Soul and Bernie Hamilton.
Yes teary eyed here as well, the show, the guys & all the memories of the 70s & on. All our own memories with them intertwined. It does break my heart to watch episodes where Starsky suffered when only a few years later pretty much everything Starsky went thru Paul was put through in one way or another . Losing his adorable daughter & heroic & purely beautiful wife. Thank heavens the work Elizabeth & Paul put into the fight against aids predominantly kids saved their beautiful son Jake . I’m not religious but 1 little angel in heaven with mum & the strong & vocal son ( like Dad) Here to provide a MUCH MUCH needed reason for Paul to go on . Many times I e been watching them & been reduced to sobbing for ALL the families who had to endure that shit. They didn’t jump on the that as fast !! To many homophobs in the 70s 89s 90s & probably still to much ignorance . sBUT When the blood transfusions etc started showing up , finally a murmur. Another beautiful Soul Princess Di embracing victims , she did it with Leprosy too.. Ok off m6 soapbox pick up the pieces of my ❤️
Most underrated show ever! Iconic status for sure,,, painted a perfect picture of the 70’s,,, I can remember my pops grabbing me every time this show came on. they were The truest definition of what cool was and the striped tomato was the first of the cars that was tagged as a star.. before dukes,,knight rider etc...
This show was iconic. 70's was about being cool, but the concern for crime was big . Thesel guys made law enforcement look cool, and popular with children. The shows toy merchandise was about the most popular of any drama show ever.

Definitely wasn’t underrated. Everyone who was anyone watch this show in the 70s. Still holds up to this day. Love this show
