It's awesome when he says that "Starsky & Hutch", in his opinion, is the "love story between 2 men". It called for a lot of guts to say that in 1977.

Yes. The fact that it was not an easy thing for David to say on television in 1977 just shows that he really meant it. It came from the heart.

@@gary903indeed, he seemed an honest, warm and down to Earth guy.

David Soul was some looker, stunning! He was brilliant in Starsky and Hutch and Paul Michael Glaser.

David made that "it's a love story..." comment several times, in print as well as live; there was no doubt he believed every word. And it was so true! The wonderful thing is seeing how much they still love each other today. We all should be so fortunate to have a relationship like theirs!

Great interview. I have it recorded on an audio cassette. As i am from France a long time ago a friend had sent it to me so i could hear it.

It's funny, given what we see depicted on television and in film these days, that some critics in the 1970s actually considered Starsky & Hutch to be too violent!! 😄

I never felt the show was violent nor do I now. The love between them was awesome & we need more of it now a days. I would never watch the 2004 movie as those other 2 will never be Starsky & Hutch!! David is right those tabloids are BS!

Surprised at his loss of words, appearing nonplussed...in interviews of recent, he always seems witty and relaxed; might just be the result of life experience, etc.

I think he's just play-acting as well as being irritated

He was actually quite shy and uncomfortable with interviewers in the early days.

Quelles bêtises peut raconter la presse ! C'est bien que David Soul remette les pendules à l'heure, et s'énerve contre tous ces mensonges, pour rétablir la vérité sur son rôle dans la série et sur leur relation entre Paul et lui !

I thought the VCR tracking was making me nostalgic. But, it is more likely that If I am watching something old enough for tracking to be a thing, then it is probably free of most modern day woke/pc crap.
There is a reason that the number one selling artist of 1977 is Mr David Soul.

It was Bi-Shi- because the show was a hit and not all the crap that people wrote cause they were suppose to be good friends don’t really know but it was a good show for the seventies. But now Starsky & Hutch would not work in the twentieth first century . No freaking way besides those guys are to old now .
