The scariest thing to me is the fact that you can look at an officer and LITERALLY think to yourself “this man can shoot me where I stand and kill me, then go home to live his life with no repercussions” it is absolutely petrifying.

If she didn’t say it was a mistake, she would have been “justified” in the shooting. [note: I’m not saying she should have done this] When the gentleman was getting cuffed, he suddenly made a run for the car and jumped in the seat. The partner was then wrestling with the young man. Is he reaching for a gun? Knife? Trying to run him over with the vehicle? She could have just said “I feared for my life and the safety of my partner”. She fucked up and said it was a mistake and now she will pay.

He ran from the cops IN HIS CAR for some punk ass warrants he could’ve made bail on or gotten time served for. I’m sorry, this wasn’t an accident. 26 year veteran who was also a “FIELD TRAINING OFFICER”!!! For those who don’t know, an FTO is an experienced or senior police officer who is responsible for the training and evaluation of the junior or probationary level officers. Again...this was no mistake.

There is an incident that happened where a cop shot a handcuffed white person in the cell thinking he was using is taser, but it was his service pistol he used. I think nothing happened to that officer. I have a feeling nothing will happen to this lady cop as well... this is America..

The police was wrong for shooting him. She claims that she thought she had her taser, yea whatever. She deserves manslaughter charge . But on the flip note. Young dude was living wild, when you Check him out , dude be walking around with guns posing for the camera , then his warrant was for armed robbery, and he violated probation . They only pulled him over because he’s driving around with expired tags. Then he resist arrest and try’s to drive off on police . I mean niggas don’t want to admit he made the situation worse. Daunte is so light skinned that you can't even tell he's black. And it was a black officer arresting him, so race had nothing to do with this. Why did Daunte try to run when being detained by police. You never run when you're in police custody under any circumstances, even when talking with police, you either ask if you can leave or wait until the police leave. Daunte's dumbass decision making is what got him shot, not the fact that he was driving while black. If he was white with blonde hair and blue eyes he still would've gotten shot. However I do believe that officer Potter is not fit to be a cop and she needs to be fired immediately. There is no way a veteran cop should mistake a gun for a teaser, she's not built for it

There’s people that resist and are still alive. Resisting shouldn’t mean death. How many videos have we seen of drunk white guys resisting and they’re still alive? Why are they still alive and black men are not? Look I understand there will be times when lethal force will be used, however, that should be the LAST RESORT and there’s a real threat. Commenting “don’t resist” don’t mean anything if one group of people do it stay alive while others aren’t. That’s my biggest issue with police they know how to detain someone without killing them. We’ve had shootings where the guy was detained without incident even though they shot up multiple people with an AK. Do you not see an issue? This is why black people are upset! There never seems to be an effort to keep black men alive when it comes to the police. The young man was 20! He wasn’t old enough to buy alcohol legally! People don’t like the police so of course they’re going to resist but it’s up to the police to handle a situation safely. They’re the ones with the gun so why are they always afraid? Cops really don’t have good enough training because they keep making the same mistakes over and over again! It’s not that hard to keep an unarmed person alive. Cops just have to want to do!
