Nature does not distinguish among physics, chemistry, biology. We need everything to tackle challenging problems of humans. Very excited to see a physicist explains mechanism of cancer.
i will never be surprised if a psychologist, physicist, philosopher, chemist, biologist, informaticist, engineer or anything will do research in a big field much different from his: sectorizing is itself limiting human, while true culture must be beyond that, thank you!
Leon Schuit it was not very explicative it seems you only need to block one side to block it all; and collagen is an example of vehicle of tumor. dunno maybe he published papers on Arxchiv or something
Block what exactly, I mean collagen is a rather essential protein in the body, it is literally one of the things that keeps you together, so you can't block that. What is interesting is to find out how the metastatic cells are "pulling" the collagen fibers and, if it's specific to those cells, block that. (The answer to this is probably that this process is not specific to the metastatic tumor cells, seeing as we don't have genes that are especially there for "tumor usage", wouldn't make sense from an evolutionary point of view.)
Mr. Betz; you sir are exactly right, no one field will find the answer, it is only by working together that a cure will be found. Well done!

Very much enjoyed this talk. Multidisciplinary approaches are necessary to continue to advance.
complimenti - molto bella la lezione
i like this a lot
Together as various professionals we stand to solve problems but divided we achieve nothing !!!
Tedx talk is about simplification... it seems
SimonS7r yep, I think so too!
Nice ❤
I'm wondering what he proposes to do to prevent metastasis, cut up all the collagen in our bodies? That'd have some disastrous results :P

Very bad mic quality, crackling static noise makes it annoying to listen to.
Wiking it is the german accent, kidding, love germany
I enjoyed this video and hopefully we will find a cure for cancer in the near future
