Tim is a conundrum for me. He doesn't ever really sound like he's straining, no matter what octave he's singing in. He seems comfortable everywhere. And that last bass note, it was a surprise for me ... but why should it be? He is a bass, after all, and I'm very familiar with the tambour of his voice and his range. Why is it still surprising? It's just so strange. And THEN (and then) he can still do those quick vocal runs in all of his octaves, AND he makes it sound natural and easy. That's really remarkable to me. Thanks for your reaction. I always like hearing your analysis.
I love how even though you can understand and explain how he can hit those notes, you're still amazed by it. It's like a rainbow; you understand how the sunlight is refracted by the water vapor, but it's no less beautiful. Thank you.
Every time I hear Tim I’m speechless for a minute! Then my brain catches up with my ears! He is so very talented and unique in all his awesomeness! I just don’t know how to describe this man! He sense of humor and he’s so humble as well! Just WOW!!! BAM!!!!
Another great song & beautiful cover by Tim. His range is insane. "Since I Don't Have You" was a 1958 hit single for the doo-wop group the Skyliners. Country music singer Ronnie Milsap had a hit with the song in 1991. Tim added 2 extra songs at the end "Sincerely" & "Gloria".
I love how you broke down each of Tim's layers... each sound like an individual singer. (It seems that Tim has learned a lot form Peter Hollins) As usual Tim has provided an excellent production of a iconic song. He is so talented and I appreciate your own talents on display here. Thanks Jen for opening my eyes and ears to nuances I wouldn't have noticed on my own.
@@JenniferGlatzhofer : definitely we want Tim Foust to do more of blues/ jazz songs with Home Free. It manufactured in Tim Foust world based on his genre.
Love your reactions - you analyze, but still enjoy!! Tim has said he was still singing tenor in high school, and his voice changed “late”, and he has worked hard to keep and expand his range - for all of us to enjoy!
The way you mimic " YUHOO and BADOO" were perfect ! hahaha . Chef's kiss .. Still waiting for Home Free's cover of DO YOU HEAR WHAT I HEAR and their original song SNOW GLOBE for this Christmas season .♥
This is my absolute favorite of Tim's solo work. It's so beautiful that it makes me tear up. You know, how when something is so beautiful it makes your heart clench up and you take that sharp intake of breath. Yeah. That. Love your reaction and analysis.
Jen, thank you. It is so great to watch your reactions. It is wonderful to have someone who appreciates this beautiful music. Please react to his "In My Room". I promise it will blow you away. Enjoy listening to this again and again.
Tim has even more incredible music on this album of his.....it's remarkable. The original by The Skyliners in 1958 has been one of my favorite songs as far back as I can recall
Excellent! As I've come to expect from the Analysis Queen, another informative and intertaining (love your humour) reaction. You only point out about a dozen things I missed or didn't realize - but I'm used to that. That's why I come. How can Tim have such a range and sound great everywhere! It's a good thing I watch the original video first because I get so wrapped up watching your great facial expressions and listening to that gorgeous accent (I'm Canadian) that I forget to watch the actual video and just stare at you. As a Bond film once said about you - "Nobody Does It Better".
Hi Jen, I always enjoy your reaction & analysis videos, especially when it’s Home Free or solo projects from the guys. I love your way of analysing and explaining what you hear (and sometimes see) so someone not quite as knowledgeable as you can understand. And I love how you clearly enjoy the music. I’m always both thoroughly entertained and learning something whenever I watch your videos. So thank you for that. About this song and Tim’s voice(s), talk about a match made in heaven 😍 I hadn’t noticed that dungeon deep growl under the bass line at the end, so thank you for pointing that out 😊 Much love from Denmark x
if sombody had never heard Tim sing , thry would not be able tell you what his normal voice was. amasing. great job as always Jen. Christmas is coming, would love to hear your analysis of HF ( do you hear what i hear) ,i think it epic.
Tim is such an amazing artist. His awesome 5 octave range assures his is comfortable singing in each of his vocal ranges ! He’s so talented and able to sing each part but can harmonize with his own vocal ranges perfectly ! That ability to sing every part and harmonize with himself is unbelievable and so beautiful at the same time. It is phenomenal that he can sing like Frankie Vallee one minute and drop to bass in the next minute. He also sings with his entire self. You see his emotions in his face, his expressive hands and legs moving around so never stiff! Tim’s the entire package for an artist !! ❤❤

"Where are we going today Mr. Peabody. Set the Wayback machine to 1960 Sherman. When Doo Wop ruled the airways and the Skyliners sang When I Don't Have You." This sounds so much like the original that you forget that instead of 5 people singing and harmonizing, there is only one. Great cover and a wonderful reaction to one of the great songs of the early '60s.
Fun fact, when Tim started singing in school, he was a tenor. In fact when I got to meet Home Free at a show, both Tim and Chance both told me to work on my higher range if I wanted improve my low range (I'm a natural baritone but can also sing into tenor), so I wanted advice from both of them.
Jennifer, you have a beautiful singing voice; I would love to hear you sing a whole song, any song! Yeah, I understand that you are here in this video as a voice analyst, but WOW!
I would love to see Tim Faust and Tim Waurick do a duet. Both of them have an incredible range (bass to 1st tenor). While I can "fry" notes at the lowest that Tim F goes, his head voice is already in my falsetto, and his falsetto I don't seem to be able to even contemplate (i.e., no sound at all comes out). What's even more amazing, is that it is all a capella and all him. INCLUDING the vocal percussion!
Would love to see you react to the Thomas sisters. Lucy Thomas on her own is beautiful and when she duets with her younger sister..ie...The Prayer..you will get goosebumps. Lucy has also released a song...Broken Dreams from a new musical Rosie which is due 2024. As you mentioned musical theatre i thought you might like to react to Lucy. Jen, thank you so much for your posts. I love Home Free and all their talents BUT I know nothing about music or singing (it is an area in which I lack any talent and so I have never delved into). I just knew that these guys were phenomenal, not why or how. Your videos have educated me and you never talk down to ignoramuses like me. Thank you so much.
Jen, You need to find a way to strap down your eyebrows. If you keep watching Tim then they are going to fly away one of these times that he hits a high note and you send them to the sky! As always, love your breakdown of the songs I love.
Don’t tell my fiancé, but I think I have a crush on Tim. Haha! Shoot.. he probably knows it! 😅 I waffle between adoring him and Austin. I’m going to see my first concert in May & I am dragging my fiancé along, because he is now a Home Fry as well. Haha! Thank you so much for these reactions! (Or I was too boy crazy to pay attention… I had a crush on the quarter back of our football team who was also in class! Ha!) but, I love learning from you! Thank you!
Jennifer! Well I was one of the first comments to this one but for whatever reason it didn't save. I'll try again. I love this style of song. I can recall my parents listening to this genre of music back in the early 60's when I was very young. I thought for sure with Tim singing you'd get some low note practice in but not so much this time. 😁 High notes instead! That C#4 was it? I can just barely hit that but it's out of my comfort zone. But I heard your lecture, I'll keep working on it. I would never want to upset you! 😅 Great reaction and analysis as always Jennifer. 😊
I'm old enough to remember the Skyliners original version of this song. And and beautiful as Tim's cover is, I found myself just a touch disappointed that his is a note-for-note, beat-for-beat copy of the Skyliners. It certainly appeals to the nostalgic part of me, but I tend to think there isn't a lot of point in doing a cover if it sounds exactly like the original (except that IMHO Tim's voice is much better than the original lead singer's). And THEN, Tim came to the last section where he mixed "Sincerely" in with "Since I Don't Have You" and added gorgeous harmonies and more elaborate backing vocals. Result: Spectacular!!
Can you reat to stan walker and the levites , don't dream its over or amazing grace he is from new zealand and i seen a couple voice coaches react to his songs, id love to see your reaction

I sang this to a girl I was infatuated with when I was in High school... she called me a creep and kicked me... that sucked. Since then, two failed marriages and no more attempts to sing a "love song" to anyone... My dog even ran off, never to return. And I have a middle to low tenor voice. And I’m 76; I completely agree. These songs of his bring back a lot of memories.
