You are freaking awesome man. You explain those small details that some of us don't automatically know, but can comprehend when someone tells us. Thank you.
My wife and I enjoy all of your videos! We have been able to upgrade our home in so many beautiful ways thanks to your content and your view on home improvements. Keep on doing what you do! We look forward to each video!!!
Dude, seriously? You rock! I’m a diehard, longtime woodworking fool. I like solutions, not perfection and/or repetition. Well done. I’ve watched several of your videos. Love the attitude and approach. Cheers from Idaho! Message me if you ever come out this direction. We’ll share simple fixes.
If only I had a garage to do this in. I’m super handy and creative but I don’t have tools, yet. Looks like I’m gonna have to buy myself some tools for Christmas. Definitely saving this one in my DIY vids. Thanks for the upload 👏🏽 just got yourself a new subbie.
Love your videos! Two things I would change on this project are: Rout a recess in the top of the doors as a pull so you can get rid of those metal pulls which are sticking out and may injure someone or tear clothing. Put a vent at the opposite end of the cabinet from where the fan is to facilitate the free flow of air to flush hot air out of the cabinet. Trying to blow air out with nowhere for air to enter will strain the fan and cause a higher current and use more electricity.
Hey Glenn .... get yourself a Franklin stud finder and you will never be sorry as it will be your go to sensor from now on ! By the way, it shows you the complete width of the stud .... no more drilling holes in the wall ! :-) Dennis in Western Canada
I recently installed a steel door and frame into a metal studded wall at my work to enclose my office space and what made it fairly easy for me was pre-drilling the holes in the door frame and then using 4" self tapping screws to secure the frame to the wall studs, using wood shims as usual for plum.
I want to be like you when I grow up. Jeez this is amazing!!! I’m only good in the kitchen. But this is def an idea I love an since my wife is the crafty one. This is an idea I think I want to follow. Thank you for this and all your videos!!!
excellent video, you are awesome, the quality of your videos and the way you explain everything is just perfect, i always learn something new from your videos. thank you.
I made the floating shelves with the 2x8s from your other videos about 6 months ago. Came out awesome with some stain and boiled linseed oil as a finish. 👍👍
The original inspired me so much I build a similar setup. WiFi led back panel with floating tv. Under it spaced by about 7" a floating 3 open compartments and 2 with walnut doors on the front. Opens downward like yours.
Yea, Procrastination can get us sometimes. Best way to get over it is make it to-do list and put it everywhere you think you're going to be. If you keep seeing it you're give in.
Great video -- love the tape on wall idea for marking stud locations. I noticed, though, that you attached the wires for the extended outlet to the same screw terminals on the old outlet. That's against code. You should have attached the new wires to the second set of screws on the outlet (if not already taken) or add pigtails and wire nuts to split off the power (and grounds) for the extension to the power strip/added outlet.
Hi, The terminal was not used. The existing wires was going in the quick connection holes on the back of the outlet. I added the new wire to the terminal. If that makes sense.
@@DIYCreators Perfect! It went by quick and it looked like the bottom terminals were open -- I didn't see that the existing wires were in the back! Once again, great video, as usual -- love your channel!
It's great to see you again it has been a while 😊 I pray all is well and I guess with the new house you have been very busy did you move out of Florida? Me I'll be here till the day I go to heaven
As an electrical engineer, it might even be valuable to instead use passive cooling. Just drill some holes in the back side top of the cabinet, and some near the front on the bottom. Natural air convection makes warm air rise, so this automatically pulls cold air through the bottom ,with warm air exiting through the back whilst having no noise.
So, with the fans, is there a toggle to reverse the direction of the fans so that you can have one pull are in, and another push air out? It would seem that would be the ideal method for maintaining a preferable temperature in the cabinet.
its important to note that receptacles are mounted to studs so it may be much more trouble to fish a wire to the receptacle if the stud is on the side that you're going to.
I recently found your channel and I’m OBSESSED! Do you have a video on what to get for starting out? Preferably on a budget?? I’m hoping to find some used tools on marketplace, but not sure what I should look for first!
Not sure if your fan was an intake fan or an outtake fan, but you should have at least 2 similar to how PCs are. One fan brings in cool air the other pushes out the heat. Just a recommendation
Hi Glenn, I've missed you! Think you could do a bunk bed build? I'm planning on finishing my basement and turning it into a studio with a master bed and a bunk bed suitable for adults. I'd love to see how you would accomplish that. I like the 4x4 outdoor builds and plan to replicate that for my furnishings. Love your creativity and gadgetry!
You are freaking awesome man. You explain those small details that some of us don't automatically know, but can comprehend when someone tells us.

beef up the cooling fan and add mesh so than the air that is going into the console wont suck up dust. just my thought 😊
