I just built and hung a desk on my daughters wall using french cleats. This was my first time and I was too very surprised at how strong they are. Great work very good inspiration.
Superb video, there was not background music, no chit chat at all, the manufacturing procedure was straight to the point. KUDOS! You have a new subscriber.
This was pretty great. I saw a more recent video and you sure have come a long way in just one year! The burnishing technique you did in this build as well as the dust brush for the cords was awesome. Thanks so much!
There are lots of ideas for installing a floating shelf. Your shelf has strength but allows for storage and aesthetic versatility. One can hang the flat screen tv on the wall of rest it on the shelf. Your unit was very well done. Thanks for posting your build process and installation of the shelf. Well done!
Haha, i was watching the Video and when i saw the you guys walking pass power meter box when taking the unit inside, i was thinking it was NZ. Keep up the great work, i've made heaps of furniture from Birch Ply, its a great material, as a Cabinetmaker, i enjoy stable ply over timber
Timmeh! You and Mark from Dainer Designs are my favourite Aussie RUclips woodworkers! Well, there are a lot of great Aussie woodworkers on RUclips... but you two are *awesome!* Such inspiring! Much amaze! Very OMG!
Good video and amazing work. It looks very elegant. Unfortunately this is too complex to build for an average person specially without those tools. Thanks for sharing your work.
Très beau, très épuré, j’adore ce style de meuble de salon. Ça me donne envie de continuer à m’équiper en matériel pour réaliser ses propres meubles. Félicitations 👏🏼
Looks great! You always have the best plywood. Way more plys than the big box store offering. I learned something while watching you build it that I will use. Use a scrap straight edge as you're flush bit guide looks alot easier than trying to clamp a guide offset the diameter of the router table thing.
Thanks! I prefer to use birch plywood for furniture pieces. it has much cleaner ply and stronger. Glad you were able to take something from this video :)
great job out there, but I still believe that, if you choose floating shelves method screwing it from the bottom would've been more stronger than french cleat. I like and I use too much french cleats but I don't recomend it for heavy duties. thats me. But in the end, It turned sooo gorgeous. Well done.
Great video, thanks for sharing. I have to get going with my rather constrained built but your idea of using the draught stopper is fantastic! One thing that did have me biting my nails was your technique with the table saw. Please brush up on the safety aspects by watching some very pertinent videos on that. Also use of a dust mask when working with fine dust and gaseous things. Cheers.
Good design and I ordered the plans not expecting that most of what you used is not available in my country ...namely the hinge system and the wood. would be good to mention that in the description.
I will make note of that. However, I do mention where I get my plywood and hardware in the description in this video for everyone to see regardless if they buy plans or not. In the plans I also provided an alternative to the hinges from amazon which would be more likely available to most people. And I cannot know where to buy plywood from or know what is available in every country. But It is a common material. If there is local plywood supplier they should have or tell you where to get similar material.
To cut a square hole with jigsaw.. you just need to drill 3 corners. The 4th is not necessarily needed as the last corner can be cut by jigsaw cuts itself.
I just discovered your chanell and i love the projects that you do. Is it possible to slow down the videos to normal speed to appreciate the work you do
Thank You so much for this video.. I have few doubts: 1. How can I wall mount the same for a brick wall ? 2. Do I need to use French Cleats for brick wall or Normal 2.5 inch screws would be sufficient
buenisimoooo !! very fine !!! what kind of disc you use to cut like that is a very clean cut no marks on the playwood how many theeths ???? wich do you recomend me ???
Great work. I'm in Auckland too and planning to do something similar, but I'd like to make it about 3m long. Any tips oh how to best join two pieces of plywood to cover this length?
Thanks! I would probably make it as 2 separate units rather than try to join it as a join will always be hard to get seamless. Alternatively you can use an oversized sheet of ply which is 3m long
Dude, thanks! I built two of these cabinets, and now I have a gorgeous 11 foot media console under my TV. Well done.
As someone who grew up in a family of a cabinet maker I love that you kept the clean wood and even plywood and not painted everything white!
That’s not only excellent craftsmanship but it’s also a rugged work of art! The tools you have are next level! Inspiring!!!

Great to hear. Thanks for the comment
Absolutely amazing! How can 12 people dislike this? Love the modern look. The grove indent for the handle to open, was genius.
Haha thank you very much :)
OCD. It's not centered under the TV.
Superb video, there was not background music, no chit chat at all, the manufacturing procedure was straight to the point. KUDOS! You have a new subscriber.
Nice piece! Didn’t realize how strong French cleats are! Good to know.
My wife doubted French cleats before...and once i showed her...she's really surprised
samanimeguy23 I’ll definitely try it! Thanks!

You make it look easy, and correct alignment, being in square and hinging the door was perfect. Beautiful job. Congrats! Cheers, Sean
Thanks Sean
Gud
Unbelievable finished product, well done friend

Haha good eye! Thanks for the message!
Same thought exactly - "This bloke's in NZ!"
Laying down on it answered any questions i had. 👍👍👍👍
Beautiful work Sir.
Your shop is amazingly efficient and organized.
Thanks!
Timmeh! You and Mark from Dainer Designs are my favourite Aussie RUclips woodworkers!
Well, there are a lot of great Aussie woodworkers on RUclips... but you two are *awesome!* Such inspiring! Much amaze! Very OMG!
ps Tim is from New Zealand 😁
Thank you very much Isa. I have to correct you that I am in New Zealand not Australia :)
Close enough 😅
Great video and a beautiful peace of furniture! Using the screwdriver to round off the edges just this little bit was 🤯!
How freaking beautiful this project was.
Thank you very much!
I love your equipment. Very organized
French Cleat system, bloody awesome, well done.
13:40
He's not gonna -- he is! And it's supporting him! OK all concerns about the French cleat have been answered
Haha! I was pleasantly surprised myself with the strength of it
In the same boat man.
*cold sweating*
The best part .. I lay down to relax .. rssssss .. !!
WONDERFUL WORK !!
Greetings from Brazil!

Ça me donne envie de continuer à m’équiper en matériel pour réaliser ses propres meubles.
Félicitations 👏🏼
Very tasteful. Love the wall color with the light wood.

Some kind of mesh on the back or bottom or side to allow for air flow for a receiver would be very beneficial. But this is def a beautiful piece.
Thanks! I did think about that, but I don't have many devices and I figured the door would stay open when in use and would provide enough ventilation.

I have asked the local carpenter to build the same for my home . Excellent piece of work
Nice! Hope it turns out well!
Never consider a French cleat for a floating shelf like that. Brilliant
Excellent. I like the screwdriver trick on the mitres, doesn’t work too well on Doug Fir though
Perfect for ply though.
this was incredibly relaxing to watch.
Nice display of the tools inventory
This was phenomenal. I'm inspired to do the French Cleat for when I make mine, eventually.

had to scroll way too far to see this. absolutely unsafe handling with that table saw. Just needs to use a push stick.
That looks pretty good.. I was looking for a simple but strong way to hang kitchen cabinets..I think I just found it. Thanks.
French cleats are a good and common way to hang kitchen cabinets
the one I like in your channel is that you dont need to have a background music ☝️
very nice. and the Shaun Boyd test at 13:45! ha ha! very nice looking and incredibly strong.
Haha maybe with a few extra kilos :P. Thanks man
Awesome piece of furniture, though so simple. Simplicity in this case is eye catching.........good on you
Thank you!
That was ridiculously satisfying to watch 👌🏼

Looks great. Wanted one of these but my layout doesn't allow it.
I like the proportions on your design. Would you mind sharing the height and depth?

This is great, also love your extensions to work off the bench with. What vases are those? They really look great!
