As an amateur with woodworker, i typically feel overpowered with the entire arrangement ruclips.net/user/postUgkxrYREG3-7f1Aqk9ams3ZESRNzGnfdUtyQ . Be that as it may, this arrangements drove me through with much clarity and effortlessness woodplans. Works i now work like a genius. That is great!
I know its an older video, but just want to say I love that you are using finish carpentry's CA glue and activator in this video. I admire you both and your attention to details and careful approach to each part of the job. My two favorite carpenters on youtube, hopefully one day we could get you two together for a collaboration.
Great work and a lot of care taken on those long mitres, not to wobble the track saw a little and mess the line. Also great to get it all square and line up on the glue up.
Those miter cuts in 1/2" plywood with a track saw are impressive, I would have thought impossible, nice work. Just finding straight 1/2" plywood in and of itself would be a challenge.
Just a small tip guys. If the receiver in indeed located in the space under the TV and the lid is put on, you will need to install a silent fan to draw cooling air into that space. Even solid-state receivers get warm, and if the air isn‘t circulated, it will overheat. The build of the shelf in absolute genius and the finished shelf is a real eye-catcher 👍👍👍
I love the way you showcase "Finish Carpentry TV" CA glue and activator. It's nice that you support another YT presenter! Love your vids, thanks for taking the time to filming and editing it. I don't think people realize how much effort it takes to edit videos.
In my country ALL walls are either brick (for older houses) or concrete (for newer houses) so watching work on houses build like that is extra interesting. They look like some kind of theatre stage setting.
Awesome project! That big clamping on the ceiling, in France we call that "Ciel d'ébéniste" translates to cabinetmaker's sky! Used it everyday for most of my lutherie work, super cool technique!
Great concept. I plan on using this technique to build a floating mitre saw station in my garage so I can store my table saw underneath it. Keep up the good work.
Liked the way did framing for the floating shelf. Not bad👍🏻 The finish on that ply actually looks beautiful, & didn’t have to do any poly, stain, etc....cool cool Cheers✌🏼
Wow wow wow.., you need to build more of these hanging shelves and cabinets SBC & Paerau Bell. Excellent work . I want one now!!😁😎👍plus the Plywood feature wall looks amazing.
Very nice. As a recommendation if you do this build in the future is to place the L-brackets so they attach to the wall above the shelf. Steel's preferred directional force is tension. You still have plenty of margin installing underneath but you would get less flex and higher margin placing them above.
The stress block diagram of a cross section of the horizontal part of the steel would still show a compression in the lower part of the member, therefore doesn't really matter. As long as the whole angle is well fixed into the timber, buckling (which is the compression failure mechanism) will still be resisted by stopping rotation of the angle in the lateral direction. :)
Well that will never ever ever fall off the wall. I do them the same but surface mount it to the wall , so just screw the frame to the studs, not half as strong as that one but does the job. Look forward to seeing the next project Scott
There are other strong means such as using metal but not sure if they are any better. They could have made it a little thicker in framing but it would probably be far stronger than what is needed. What they have is strong enough with room to spare.
Couple suggestions. Double your brackets. One on each side of the king stud and throw a couple L brackets to disperse the stress down. May as well be sure your use of a shelf that size isn’t limited. Put your hidden shelf below. A couple cheep hinges and a magnet to keep it closed is really Easy. All you need is a small hole to feed your TV power cable and infrared sensor wire through. Also if you are comfortable with moderate skill carpentry add a side pocket drawer. Check out hidden shelf storage videos. Easy place to store remotes etc or a firearm depending on your tastes. Have fun!
Here’s a tip...skilled/talented people don’t sit around wishing for things...they make a ton of mistakes and build crappy stuff knowing well and good....it’s all a process! Stick with it! Remember this… Do what you love, if you’re not having fun ....try something else… Repeat this process until you’re happy! This makes the world a better place for me!
This is amazing, looks beautiful, and finally someone builds a floating shelf that can hold some weight. Wish I had you guys to build me one right now lol, I have a new 77" lg C1 that I'm mounting, but I want a floating shelf to put my sound bar on below it and hide wires and some wall plug ins.
nice,..very nice and clean. Very good job, nice to watch. I have the same shelf for at least 5 year, but underneath i put white stone, as a decoration with LED:)
Your wife obviously doesn't change her mind as frequently as mine does... I made a boxed ladder frame and bolted it through the drywall knowing it wouldn't be there forever then covered it with a sheath made of plywood. Sure enough, 4 years later, the shelf came down. Had I done it this way, there would have been TONS of drywall repair! I will say, this is a VERY strong shelf and it looks great!
Nice build! We did a similar one but with a hidden Drop Down drawer and steel frame. there are vent holes and velcro straps to hold the cable box & a mini pc inside. Also the owner told us that he used the edge space as a short arm compartment with a trigger lock!
Great job same kind of work That I do. I think I would put the hatch door on the bottom with a couple grommets on top for the wires that way you can access everything without moving the tv

Racist pig
Watching this on the toilet at 5:48am before I leave for work.
Too much information haha

Prune can be a great help as they are high in fibre and also contain sugars that aid the intestinal digestion process.
How many wipes??
I hope everything came out alright!
The plywood wall and the floating shelf are definitely my favourites of your projects. Real quality craftsmanship by you and your team
Im always impressed with the small spaces you work in. No large work shop. Very efficient both on site and in your work shop.
There are so many “one chance to get this right” moments in this build. Bravo.
There is never only one chance. Everything can be fixed
I have been trying to build the perfect floating shelf for years. You did it. That mounting support system is top notch..
Love how Paerau is mister confident man doing all the scary 'this has to go perfectly cuts'. Great build guys!
Man, the piece of plywood inside the mitered piece to make the glue up easier is something I never thought of or have seen...genius!
Glad I checked back. This helped solve a problem I am having on a client build. Hope you're doing great!
It's always interesting how much extra work goes into doing something that "shows" less material.
Some of your best work this, as a carpenter and a content creator.
What you guys do with ply wood is so cool and inspiring.
To make long mitres like that needs accurate tools and nerves of steel. Bravo!
Love that festool is extremely expensive but is the best... for carpenters is nothing better good to see this...

Beautiful. The grain lining up around the edges is flawless. 😊 You guys are so talented.

This is awesome simple and clean beautiful absolutely beautiful
Another master class in carpentry ! the wall and the shelf look fabulous together, real class well done
So much work to tear out that sheetrock but so worth it for the end result. Beautiful work
Liking the music in the background! Great feel to your videos, really is.
I loved watching the technical stuff in your garage, solid stuff.
Thumbs up!

Very good work. Good idea to create it from plywood.
To the untrained eye it looks like just another shelf, but DAYUUUUUUM - that is one sexy floating shelf!!! Great work!!! Love it!!!!
Nice and beautiful, no doubt you guys like perfection, I prefer 22.5° corners.
You guys are brilliant, I barely have the skill to plug in the drills. Very well done!
Real craftsmanship! Well done boys 👍🏼
Looks Beautiful, great job

Hansang Bae I don’t think he knows about the Finish Carpentry TV channel 🤣. ruclips.net/video/LaJTC5kRhkI/видео.html&feature=share.
@@GAROmx He does, he was gifted the glue from Richard.
Can glue really be enough to fold joints without screws - I would have thought pocket screws would help strength?
Fine work. Beautiful minimalism

Typical New Zealand homes are timber structures as the materials are abundant and cost effective
Stunning, absolutely stunning, true artists
Hell of a job. Well done
Awesome project! That big clamping on the ceiling, in France we call that "Ciel d'ébéniste" translates to cabinetmaker's sky! Used it everyday for most of my lutherie work, super cool technique!
Beautiful joins! Love the attention to detail.
Another great episode of Scott Brown carpentry. Nicely done!
Great concept. I plan on using this technique to build a floating mitre saw station in my garage so I can store my table saw underneath it. Keep up the good work.
Nice to see a tv mounted in the correct height. Over the fireplace is good if you want to cook it internally
Liked the way did framing for the floating shelf. Not bad👍🏻

Amazing talent and creation. Nice!
I would have done it the exact same way except I would have the metal brackets going up instead of down. Another great video!
Thing of beauty 👌🏼.
Sky now have done away with the box 🧱👍🏼😊
amazing to see such care taken over something seemingly so simple! i'd love to learn how to do what you do!
The sky box will overheat but you could easily install some small fans underneath. Nice job.👍
good music good carpentry good video 👌👌
Nice job. Kudos to the spread who plastered wall-its very straight and wouldn’t have done any favours to the finish.
"Improvise, Adapt, Overcome"! Well done! And the wrap around grain work is beautiful!
It's such a pleasure to see a thing done well!
A beautiful job of matching the grain of the wood in the wrap around. Masterly done!
You guys did amazing job. Good job to all of you guys
Very cool gents, good job. Cool tunes as well.
This is stunning Scotty.
Looks so nice

This channel makes me miss NZ, cannot wait until next time!
I think it looks great. Very solid
Love the craftsmanship!! Great Videos!!
Finally some one who doesnt wall mount tv and actually uses the cabinet to hold the TV.
I'm after something similar in my house and hands down yours is the best one I've seen

@Altair
I do not know anybody that would allow that in their home but I suppose some people will do that.
Scott man what a job.
Sick build with the plywood, I see where Finish Carpentry TV got all hyped up on the track saw. And vice versa with the CA glue.
Love the work! That's going to be a shin buster, but at least it looks good.
Hopefully no young kids running around, could be a head buster
Wish I was skilled/talented enough to build something this beautiful.
Here’s a tip...skilled/talented people don’t sit around wishing for things...they make a ton of mistakes and build crappy stuff knowing well and good....it’s all a process!

That’s what you call “fine carpentry”, mate! Good on ya! 😄👏
That's as strong as a wooden bench, weldone, good job
Big fan from the uk keep up the good work
Talented and clever stuff lads !!! Looks AMAZING 🤩
Great way to do a floating shelf
looking sharp mate, nice one!
Love this stuff! Cheers, Lads.
Seriously beautiful work Scott & Pareau. 👍🏼
Wow, those joints are perfection. Well done
Very nice! Love the grain waterfalling over the corners.
nice,..very nice and clean. Very good job, nice to watch. I have the same shelf for at least 5 year, but underneath i put white stone, as a decoration with LED:)
Now that is the proper height for a TV! A little tired of craning my neck at TVs that are placed above a fireplace or otherwise up high.

Very clean job. Love it.
Great job, guys. Thanks.
Great job guys!!!!
Very beautiful and good
All round fantastic work Lads!
Love your work Scott
Nice job Scott ! Very nice work from you both 👍
Fantastic work
Awesome job guys!

Catchy tune and great work !!
oh Scott you are such a dreamboat
Another job - and video, well done, sir.
good job guys. love your work
Thanks
Impressive work, more if only one person is doing it.
Wow, amazing work Scott and paerau.
Great job same kind of work That I do. I think I would put the hatch door on the bottom with a couple grommets on top for the wires that way you can access everything without moving the tv
Top notch job looks amazing, expensive shelf that 👌
