Because I was requested by a crocheter to form the diagrams to break down the steps. They didn't ask for me to film the entire blanket but just create the diagrams for them so the written words made more sense to them. I was doing what I was asked.
Thank you, Mikey! Seeing it in diagram, it seems much easier than my brain ever wants to mess with. That's why I usually stick with very simple patterns. I think I'll give it a go!
This blanket has been in my mental queue for YEARS but I still haven't gotten around to it. I even have the yarn for it. Seeing this video pop up on my feed reminds me to actually make it! I'm so glad it is charted. Charts are all I need. :)
Thank you so much for these diagrams. I sat down to start this afghan tonight. Whipped out the first motif, started the second and then got completely lost. I'm not a beginner--I've been crocheting for many years. I've crocheted many advanced patterns, but my brain was just not making the connection on the join. After I gave up for the evening I thought to myself "I wonder if I can find a diagram for this pattern online". Imagine my surprise when I found this video. All it took was one look at your diagram and it everything dropped into place. I can't thank you enough! My sister is getting married and I want to make this for her as a wedding gift!
I'm sorry, I am so behind with a lot of people complaining that I am not moving fast enough. I took tiem to draft up the diagrams to assist and was hoping it would be enough.
I would love to see a tutorial about reading the patterns that is a bit more in depth. There are some stitches that seem straight up but when you watch the tutorial later by an expert they do things I just don't see in the patterns. How would you make a symbol to show that the five stitches you were supposed to make were made along the post of a treble crochet of the previous row? They sure didn't communicate it in the diagram and it completely changed the whole item. I never even tried diagrams until you started explaining them to me, so I'd love to see a tutorial on even more complicated moves you find in them. Thanks. I've enjoyed making several of your items and learning different tricks from you.
We have a 33 minute indepth tutorial on diagram reading if you want to review it. Hopefully this can help you out. ruclips.net/video/YhEyV5D6Lew/видео.html
Stitches that are post stitches have their own symbol. It looks like the symbol for that particular stitch, but there is a hook/crook at the base of the stitch, which should go around the top of the post in the diagram. The direction of the hook determines whether it is front or back post. I can't imagine a charted pattern that uses post stitches NOT using these symbols. But if there are five in one post, they would be smooshed together, visually, so perhaps you just didn't register that clump of the post hooks on the chart. The hook that curves to the right (backwards C) is front post. A hook that curves to the left (looks like a C) is back post.
I'm looking for a pattern to do an afghan for my granddaughter in pale yellow without looking like a baby afghan. I think this is it! Thank you, Mikey, and feel better!
Hey there, just found your channel. This is a great tutors!! I’m wondering how to make this smaller? I don’t know how to do the math actually. I want to make a shawl with three panels but 15 squares may make it too long. Do you know if the math would work out if I did 10 squares per panel? I’m not a beginner but I haven’t done many patterns that are complicated and have never made squares to be joined together. I’m a bit nervous about this one. Thanks for any advice!
Thanks for breaking this down to diagrams. Looking at the pattern is a little overwhelming but I think your diagrams will help make this easier. BTW I can’t read the diagrams and it still looks easy to understand. Thanks!
Is there a video for this or something similar? I’m sure I’m the only one who does not do well with patterns. Lol. I’m sure eventually o could get it but ugh lol. It seems so much easier to actually see someone do it and then it like ohhhhh. Ok I got it. 😊
The way you went through the diagram like that just opened up my brain to them!!! Thank you so much!!!! I actually understand the graphs now!! That’s amazingly helpful, I’ve been trying to learn those on my own for years.
This is just an overview of the pattern. The diagram is available if you go to the video description if you want it. I don't plan on filming this as a stitching tutorial.
It's very hard to find things on your website I tried clicking the picture and it brought up the page I was first clicking on instead of the pattern I clicked on. Do you have a list of all patterns you've uploaded with a picture so I can find what I'm looking for? Like a thumbnail photo?
Can’t find the diagrams on website, clicked on link in the video description but goes to a different pattern. Can you please provide direct page link. Thank you.
Every time I make this blanket it gets snatched up so fast, this blanket makes up so gorgeous. The first time I made it, it was such a hot mess… I wish I had this video back then 😂
Hi Jessica, I have a question for you. Did you make all the motifs first and then joined 15 of them together for one row? I am not sure what to do. Please help!!!
I absolutely love your tutorials! Thank you for this review. I was wondering if you could, if you don’t already have a tutorial for it, show me how to correctly join panels using the whip stitch. Thank you! ❤
Thank you so much! I knew you’d have an easier, better way of doing it. It’s that very stitch that has kept me from doing a Granny Square blanket. I know it’s simple compared to other things I’ve done and made but it seriously had me intimidated. Again, Thank you so much! ❤️🧶
Hi! I have this pattern. Dont remember where i got it though? Lol i made it on my day off. Yes! I did the whole afghan in 1 day. And it's really beautiful.
Anyone have issues with tension on this? My squares appear to be too small and as I added the first border the border became wavy. I don't want to continue until I resolve this.
@TheCrochetCrowd so sorry. I found the issue. Turns out I misread the pattern. I figured it out as soon as I looked carefully at your diagram. Frogged the last two rows and all is well. Thank you so much Mikey!
