    I am only 8 minutes into this video and am so thankful I found it! I'm not always good with the charts and sometimes just need to see it being done to get going. Thank you!!!!

    I don't think I'd ever have figured out how to join these squares without this tutorial, so thanks much!

    Thank you so much for taking the time to teach this pattern. Ive been attempting it for a couple of years and usually give up in frustration and move on to another project. Your video finally made the connection make sense.

    I am currently working on this project in a light yellow color as the top of a nursing cover. I am doing 4 panels of 7, because I decided to do my panel edging after I complete each panel. The only thing I'm really doing differently is at the beginning of my panel edging, I start with a slipknot and work right into that chain 3 space so it matches with the other end a little better.

    Thank you so much for teaching this. I subscribed to Knit and Crochet Now TV where I pay monthly for the patterns and for 1 year I have not understood how to move to attaching motif or square 1's to the rest. It's written at Yarnspirations and Knit and Crochet Now TV there are no Notes to understand how to attach these . Now I can complete this THANK YOU and you teach very well!

    THANK YOU for this video! I found a free pattern for this and it was like reading a foreign language. I found a video on Annes Creative Studio but she only explained the motif and that was it. She kept saying things like and the rest of it is stitches you already know how to do then you can add the fringe and you're done. And the video ended. So I was really bummed thinking I'll never be able to make one until I found this video!

    Thank you very much. I like Yarnspirations patterns and can read them but watching someone interpret them is great. I was experimenting to see whether I liked the pattern before ordering the yarn. I share your dislike of sewing but this looks worth it. Just a tip - pull a little more yarn through your needle so you’re not pulling miles through every time.

    Just found you via YT recommendations. Yay! Love this pattern. Have a couple of WIPs on tap right now, including the Warm Up America blanket that is happening right now for the month. But THIS will be my next new WIP. Thanks so much!

    I have found that using the flat slip stitch technique for joining granny squares works great when connecting your panels, if you're using a solid color. Great video!

    Thanks so much! I saw this pattern being made on Knit & Crochet Now on a PBS channel, but the joining of squares wasn't explained very well. You've made it very clear to me & I found it super easy to follow along with you. 😊

    Thanks SO much for making this video! My sister wanted an Irish lace blanket and I just did not prefer the wording of the pattern. Your video was a life saver and I'm really enjoying this tedious blanket! Can't wait to finish! 😜

    I was wondering have you done this in any other colorways? I was considering doing the center motif blocks in red with white row edges. I rarely have problems with their patterns, but they used different terms than I'm used to. Your video cleared it up beautifully! TFS!!

    What if you don't have access to Aran yarn? Can you use regular 4 weight yarn and still keep the same effect of Aran?

    • @TeamMattymon
      @TeamMattymon  4 года назад

      I’m not an expert, but I’ve never had issues switching to worsted for any of these... I think it’s just the overall weight and tightness of the knots?

  • @tracygoode3037

    Help! How do you keep your tension even on this to maintain size? I've managed to get ONE panel done that the squares all stayed the same size. The next squares got smaller and smaller no matter how small a hook I used.

    • @TeamMattymon
      @TeamMattymon  4 года назад

      I have a huge issue with this too. Honestly it’s something you develop with a lot of crocheting. Before doing this video I’d been doing back-to-back projects for over a year. I’d say just keep on making the squares until they get more uniform and go from there!

  • @Prymelady
    @Prymelady 5 лет назад +3

    A couple things. First off, on round 2, you end with a DC in the first SC. Not the chain 1. I know this pattern well. Second, you crochet way too loosely. It will make your work look sloppy. Third, when doing a chain, the yarn goes over the hook the same way it would doing any other stitch. You are bringing the yarn over backwards. I have been a crocheter/knitter for over 30 years. I am a pattern designer as well.

    • @coquigirl0789
      @coquigirl0789 4 года назад +4

      Um, that was extremely rude. Yes, he does crochet loosely, but that doesn’t mean it’ll be sloppy per se, more like his gauge will probably be way off. Nothing wrong with that, everyone does things differently. Just because you’ve crocheted for 30 years doesn’t give you the right to blatantly criticize someone’s hard work. The nerve!
