I can't believe you ate the cat food. I have a cat and I didn't waste the food. I used the tomato paste to make spaghetti sauce. I just used regular felt that I had at home. So far mine is free. I did buy denatured alcohol that I still have after many years. I made a few of them and use them once in a while. I feel mine was basically free. And it was fun to do.
Thanks for the demonstration of how to make a "Fancy Feast" alcohol stove. I have the tools. Now I have the know-how. I would like the stove you made, but most of all I appreciate your videos. I have to go warm my feet, now. Press on.
I use an 8.4 ounce red bull can that I use for the pot support weighs about half as much as the tomato paste can. I've used both fiberglass and carbon felt, it's a toss up on which is more efficient.
Good DIY video, will the stove be autographed? I made one last year but used bondo fiberglass mat instead of the felt. Be nice to compare the burn times.
Great video, i fell out of my camp chair when i saw you eat the cat food. Thanks for that! I would be honored to use your homemade stove on the Colorado Trail this summer for our attempted thru-hike. Thank you very much for the chance
Midwest Backpacker awesome! We are shooting to start early July and finish by mid August depending on the weather. My pups do 10-15miles a day for 6 days a week. If it’s super exposed to the Sun we hike at night and rest during the day. We are super excited for our backcountry vacation this summer and I’m excited to finally call my pups “The Thru-Hiking Shibas!” Thanks for all your videos. I hope our hikes join someday. I would just love to pick your brain for a day
Were you coughing up the cat food or a hairball?? 😂 😆 😝. I LOVE my cat can stove! I think it’s a right of passage for every backpacker to make an alcohol stove at some point.
You know...potted meat/ham comes in the same tin as the cat food. Then again, maybe that isn't any better, or awful in a different way. 🤪 Why not? I'm in. I need to build a new one anyway...and I don't want to eat cat food (or potted meat).
Don't need the stove. I found it easier to find a person with a cat to get the can from... I asked for one can and got eleven. I didn't need to eat any of it.....
I have made 2 of these stoves already but had to use Paper towels as my wicks due to the cost of the carbon felt. Plus both mine are crooked. I would love to own a real one from your methods. I did not eat the cat food I gave it to the dog. You got some big .... eating the cat food. As a Chef I know it will not kill you but YUCK.

Can’t believe you actually ate it! Would like the stove but think I’m gonna try building one myself. Thanks for the easy step by step process.

I would like to get in on the stove giveaway! Nice tutorial!
You can also buy a disposable aluminum pan at the grocery store. Those are a lot thicker than foil.
Would love to have a alcohol stove you've made. If I don't win, may attempt to make on my own, though will feed Fancy Feast to my Kitties. 😸

I woul love to get the stove! But, also...what is the advantage of an alcohol stove vs my lightweight fuel stove??
You always know how much fuel is left.
