LandCruiser Mega 6x6 Tackles the Sandstone Canyons of Anza-Borrego

- Our USA adventure continues right where we left off in Anza-Borrego. In this episode, we take the Mega6x6 and the Black Truck through Sandstone Canyon. It's a tight fit, with only an inch or two on either side of the trucks.
Mia's dreams come true as we stumble into 15 classic Ford Broncos as we make our way out of Fish Creek. It's clear that Mia definitely has the car bug.
The FJ49 gets towed out of Anza-Borrego by our new friend Josh in his RAM Prospector, before we head to camp and get stuck into cooking some Birria Tacos with the one and only Marco from OVRLNDX.
Big thanks to Marco, and also to Brad from TrailRecon for showing us through their backyard. Can't wait to get back and do it all again!

Old Ford Bronos are the way to go. I use to have a 1969 Ford bronco and I loved it so much!! My parents made me sell her I a still to this day hate that they did that to me, they were afraid I would become a gearhead, which I am to this day damnit!! And I was born 1979 so only a 10yr difference for me wit the first bronco I owned and will never be able to a Ford one ever again, dosnt matter anyway I'm dieing now from Lymphoma from serving in the military. So o well such is life!! Live it up little ones. Find your first love of vehicles and to hell wit anybody that tells you otherwise!!!!!!!!!
Great video Justin and crew, it was good to see Mia's look on her face at the Broncos. The trip was so spectacular and go the Aussie Toyota's. Can't wait for the next episode.

No two ways about it. Looks like there's going to be a RHD conversion done to a baby blue 1st gen Bronco in the future.
Sandstone Canyon gave my 80 Series it’s first bit of real body damage. 15+ years ago, you could go much farther up the canyon than you can nowadays. “Farther up” is where I achieved my damage patch / badge. Good times.
Great job on the video folks! Thanks for making it. I hope it wasn't too much of a hit to Ashton's ego to have his brother tow him out. Looks like a Bronco Raptor is in Mia's future.

Despite the issues with the FJ, you guys were having SO much fun! As a former FJ owner and currently a Jeep Wrangler owner, I'm envious of this adventure. AND, to run into a herd of Broncos -- how cool. Lastly, I could smell those tacos cooking. 😋 I'm curious to know what happened with the FJ. Cheers-

You’d likely be fine, I’ve seen other vehicles that daily drive 40s…it just gets expensive when you put new rubber on every year or so…

It's a bit sad that the boys worked over a year on that car to then have it break down in the middle of the best time in their life😢 but Mia seeing the bronco's makes it worth it😊
Can't say I followed the build closely but the bits I did see the 1VD Toyota motor was an "interesting" choice for the FJ build. The damage that motor has done to Toyota's reputation for 4WD's especially in industry in Australia may never be repaired.
@@MrNeroDiablo good part is as far as I know in USA you can go to a scrapyard and get a new V8... Just put it on the truck and ship it home
@@haikaithefurry9869 Are you talking a random V8? AFAIK the 1VD was never sold in the USA, you can't buy a 1VD from a wrecker here is Australia as no one is prepared to warrantee them, the cheapest way to rebuild them is buy a new one off Toyota, don't worry they carry them in stock. The secound hand motor will have to go through quarantine so it will need to be cleaned pretty extensively, I assume the FJ is on some kind of carnet de passage so it will need to leave with the bits it arrived with.
I think at this point as much of a letdown it is, stick it in a container and send it back to oz, trying to fix an unobtainium motor especially when its not a essential i.e. they are not stranded, would be an exercise in expense and frustration. It might also be worth reconsidering the 1VD and getting something a bit more robust and industrial. Although that's the young fella's decision. YMMV and all that.
