    my grandma killed herself this year when her mental state took a weird spiral, everything you’re feeling is valid. it’s confusing and it’s hard to cope with because you have to accept that they did it to themselves, i remind myself everytime i think i could’ve done something more that she didn’t want to be here anymore.

      I’m so sorry for your loss.
      It’s hard to not feel some sort of blame or guilt; I believe a big part of it is knowing people kill themselves because they find life too hard to live, and at least part of us believes “I failed them by not making them happy enough or feel loved enough or by finding a way to fix their problems”.
      However, you’re totally right that people are responsible for their own actions, and they didn’t make their choice because of you. People have such complex inner lives; sometimes their inner turmoil doesn’t reflect the people in their circle at all.
      Here’s to the memory of your grandmother. I hope she’s resting in peace ❤️😔

    The way you’re being open and ‘upfront’ with your emotions is something I really like about you and the way you comment on the stories ! It makes me a lot more involved and empathetic with some internet strangers stories. I hope you’re able to not carry too much of all of this in your life ❤ take care of yourself !!

    Okay for the first story I am soooo uncomfortable. She said her sister was as 10 years older than her
    , she and met her husband freshman year of college making her sister 18-19 so OP WAS 8-9 when he met her 🤮!!! I feel like he really took advantage of her vulnerability in that moment. He probably knew how much OP looked up to him and used that to is advantage. I hope OP is okay and able to move on.

    Someone I know that was reaching out for help was given medication & it made it 10x worse for them it was scary because you feel helpless not being able to help them. Took at least 1-2 years for them to recover from that plus they are afraid to even get medication again.

    On a lighter note, you low-key match the background again. 😂

    For the ex suicide story: it is not the boyfriends fault at all. People all the time threaten to kill themselves so that they don't get broken up with and we know that you need to leave when that happens. She cheated and wasn't able to deal with the consequences so SHE took her own life. The boyfriend did no wrong imo

      I agree! other than his response to her saying that she was going to, I think he could have gone with out saying that& sending the picture of him kissing the girl but it wasn't the reason she did it. it just wasn't nice

    • @karsonchristianson5046
      @karsonchristianson5046 2 месяца назад

      @@jamie.nelson98 it wasn't nice but before this happened she cheated on him. Is sending a pic of you with someone else to your cheating ex mature ? No, but normal/ acceptable? Yes I'd say so. I had pretty much the same happen to me only I found out that she cheated after. She went to the grippy sock hotel and residential places 4 times in the 18 months we were together and she and everyone just said it was depression anxiety when it was actually bipolar disorder. It ended because she broke, beat up her grandma and step mom, bit a cop, got tranqd during the 72 hr hold etc. she was threatening to break into my house, attack me, wished my dog died etc. after she got out. Once she called telling me that she was on the highway about to jump out in front a car because I didn't stay with her. I asked her if she'd like for me to call for help. She said no. I asked if she'd like me to call her dad, she said no. So I said there is nothing for me to do and hung up. I think I ended up texting her dad just in case, but I'm saying these threats happen all of the time. Thankfully she didn't kill herself and so I feel rooted in my belief that my and that guys response was right, but if she would have, the only change I could see making would be calling her dad instead of texting.
      These threats are super common especially in younger relationships and you just need to leave, their decision to do whatever they are going to do is not on you.

      oh my, so sorry that happened to you that sounds like a terrible situation to be involved in :( but like I said, I agree it is not on him at all - 100% not his fault.

    I don't think it's weird in her situation to help with her late sister's kids like that. My husband and I are thankfully both alive, but our mums and my sister help a lot with our son and take over bath/bed/dinner/nappy duties just to give us a break from time to time. Raising kids alone would be so incredibly hard and I'm sure being close to her niblings would feel somewhat like being close to a part of her sister too.

      I agree! But I do think it played a part in them feeling like she was kind of replacing her sister so I understand why things unfolded the way they did

    • @Astarothiart
      @Astarothiart 2 месяца назад

      @jamie.nelson98 I agree too, it's such a hard situation. Under normal circumstances she would just be considered to be doing very normal and loving aunty things, but the situation makes it come across a lot differently for sure.

    I have BPD meds that can help manage the symptoms, but there is no treatment or cure. I do individual therapy and a therapy called DBT. I have been in therapy for about 4 years and still have relapse moments. I have been suicidal since I was 12. I am 32 now. I have come a long way, but I still have a long way to go if I ever get there!

      I wish you all the happiness in the world!!! im so glad you have found things to help you cope. I don't know personally how it feels but being around BPD has rlly made me realize how hard it is to manage and I hate that there is no treatment. I really hope that one day they can find one!

      @jamie.nelson98 I hope so too, some days are better than others but having a good therapy team and good support team at home really helps. I went about 28 years undiagnosed so I have alot of undoing to do but any progress is good progress!!

    32:21 do not feel like you have to hide your emotions when discussing suicide. it’s a very real thing, and it needs to be talked about in a less taboo way. I have always hated the whole “suicide is selfish“ topic because while yes it is selfish, it is more selfish to make that statement about someone’s passing. and bouncing off what that one asshole said on Reddit about the girl killing herself being her fault or how did she worded “that’s on her”…ew yes, suicide is that persons choice, other peoples actions and the situations that lead up to that point is not that person who committed’s fault. sorry this was disorganized, i’m a tapper and have a lot to say haha

    • @jamie.nelson98
      @jamie.nelson98  Месяц назад

      agreed!! thank you for saying that. I definitely can empathize a lot with the feelings of su*cide I have been there and have a handful of people close to me who have been there in even more extreme ways than me. definitely agree its not "on her" as most people who commit don't even feel like they have a choice to begin with. like the only decision that would be good for them and everyone around them is if they just removed themselves from the world, which is NOT TRUE of course but I know that's a common theme with su*cide
