No it's good to have Dan there because his advice highlights exactly what you shouldn't do, and/or it's just the same copypasted advice you'll hear from a lot of people IRL who don't understand what you're going through. Not that I'm complaining, it's entertaining to have him there.

Everyone has emotions, they just express them differently. He's not super outwardly emotional, but it comes through in things like actions.
I've been in the same situation he's in, and the whole time I was saying "Dude, you gotta get out, you gotta get out now while your heart is still intact."
I got fucked emotionally in a bad way by trying the whole "Oh, she'll come back to me, we'll get together, it'll be great," and it just NEVER works out like that. He's gotta get out before he's ruined. It takes a LONG time to heal from something like that.

Lessons for romantically inexperienced guys under 25:
1. Quit yearning for external validation for everything you do.
The reason you fail to be satisfied by your achievements is because you've spent your entire youth setting up your life to advance the things that matter *to you,* but then you choose to evaluate it by whether other people praise you for it. Keep that up, enjoy it, and understand that the rest will come; women need people to have sex with, too.
2. Very often, rejection doesn't say anything about your general attractiveness. You really just might not be her type. Don't underestimate how many different personality characteristics, *and* habits, *and* interests, *and* social circumstances need to match before someone you're interested in will also be interested in you, and also actually be someone **YOU** would enjoy spending time with.
