  • I feel like there should be a drumroll...
This is the LAST episode of the Spur Cabin building series! Eleven months have gone by since I started this build, and it all comes to a conclusion in this episode.
In this video, I'll FINALLY paint the door, stain the deck, and I'll also install a solar light on the outside. But that's not all! I'll take you for a quick stroll down memory lane, highlighting a scene or two from every month of the build. You won't want to miss a second!
Thank you to everyone who has made this adventure possible. By everyone, I mean YOU, the viewer. Without you, this channel would not exist. So thank you again, for bringing all of this to life. I appreciate you watching @LifeontheMoose. Come back next week for a brand new build.

I think I have said it before...I am 73 female...and you inspired me to build me a little garden office. My son picked up the door I built out of 2 antique windows ,,that is about all the help I have had. it is coming along. You inspired me to do this.....PLEASE NO SQUARES OR LEVELS ARE ALLOWED ON PREMISES. lov from south alabama.

Hi, Patrick! 11 months? It seems to me so quick, and here we are... 11 months together enjoying each minute of cutting, painting, sanding, etc... This makes many of us a close friend of you, working together (at least in mind, but certainly for many of us with the wish of really be there giving you a hand, or both hands 😁). I can't wait to see the next adventure at Life on the Moose.
Thanks for continue bringing us these wonderful moments.
    See you soon, my friend!!
Keep safe! Hugs from this Brazilian friend. ☺
Btw, just to let you know, we, here in my house, paused the video to grab a cup of coffee to toast the end of this project with you... it was fun! 😉 So, Cheers!!

Can't believe 11 months of anticipating your Friday Videos have flown by. Have enjoyed each of them as well as learned something, most intriguing is the subfloor/ insulation and admittedly have watched it a few times, it's such a simple concept you'd think everyone would do it that way. Can't wait for the next project. See you next week! 👍🙂

Hi Patrick, good choice on door colour. That coffee bean colour complements the cabin really well, so does the porch. All in all, a very nice, well-built cabin that should stand the test of Time and still be there for your Children's children in the Future. Give yourself a pat on the back... but do be careful NOT to break an arm doing it. lol. Greetings from Perth, West Australia. Cheers, Frank.

I'm excited for the outdoor kitchen, and can't wait for future projects. I think back on winter and worried about you in the cold and falling off the roof...and the wildfire smoke from up North that you worked thru, but the most relaxing video was installing insulation video..lol...I'm funny that I'd rather put up insulation and sand or Plaine than anything. Great Job and Can't Wait for the next steps.

You had me confused till you flipped the floor over and I then realized why you did it that way. So you could insulate from above and close it in do no critters could get to the insulation. My other favorite was your choice 22:08 of acoustic guitar music throughout the build. Thank you got your build. I am inspired to do something now. Till we meet again…Slainte’ Patrick me boyo! ☘️😎

I’ve so enjoyed watching you build a cabin. At 75 I’m not taking on any major projects, but I so enjoy watching others build a little cabins and a bigger cabins. But I did buy me a turtle sewing machine last week. But somebody had set some stuff on the top so I’m gonna try to refinish the top of it With the wood. Everything else looks beautiful. I found a place to buy new part so I will beginning a new belt for for sure. And I just wanted it so bad because I remember sewing with my grandmother at somewhere between five and six years old as she overlooked making sure I didn’t put the needle through my finger. I never was really into sewing, but I wanted that Sewing Machine really bad after she passed away, but my parents gave away her sewing machine because I guess they wanted out the garage and didn’t know I wanted it. So this is as close to match that I can findand I’m going to enjoy it when I get it finished and it will be in the house. At this time it’s in the garage but in a particular room is air-conditioned so it doesn’t get beat up so thank you again for sharing your cabin and I’ll be watching more as you post them.

Patrick, you're such a kick in the pants! Pop a cork on the bubbly, kick back, and reflect on the accomplishment. Your journey on this build has been very entertaining and a little bit scary from time to time, considering the possibility of you falling and breaking your neck! (But, then again... if you fell and had broken your neck, the episode wouldn't have ever been published. So, there is that.)
Also, I have noticed how precise your measurements and cuts are, so I would like to ask... are there many bloopers of cuts and flubbled tasks? If so, you should consider making a "blooper" video.

I'm hoping to build a cabin in the near future, and one thing that I have always felt intimidated by is electrical, so I found that video to be particularly empowering. Like most you are a Friday ritual. Love the whole build! Hard to pick one video since I learned a lot. The metal trim around bottom and siding were something I’m using when I build a shed

Wow, almost a year of watching the cabin build, seems like yesterday you were just starting the road to the cabin! Well, good job! The video that inspired me the most was the one with all that sanding. LOL, just kidding, just kidding!😂 I really enjoyed the subfloor building and the wood mill videos. I actually drank an adult beverage with you when you celebrated, it wasn’t champagne, but the type you used the corks as door handle. Can’t wait for the complete reveal video. Cheers!

Purdy brush is a strong indicator of knowing what's up with painting. I've got some from the 90s that have been ridden hard and still work great.

The video I appreciated the most was the one in which you showed how you insulate the floor while building it. I had been wracking my brain trying to figure out how to both insulate a floor and keep it out of reach of rodents. Your method looks very promising.

    • @LifeontheMoose
      @LifeontheMoose  25 дней назад +1

Hey thanks so much! It’s working great so far, here. I think one key is leaving it all open underneath the structure…with no “skirting.” No chance for moisture build-up, and not ideal for rodents.

Very nice to see the finished cabin all wrapped up and ready for decorating! Awesome job Patrick. I have done a lot of things without help, but never tried something quite this big. My favorite video was probably to do with the siding and the next best was when the tung oil was applied, it really made everything come to life! The most nerve wracking one was when you were putting up the ridge beam. I did a lot of leaning and grunting and did my best to help but in the end you still had to do all the work. Cheers to you on a job well done!
