    What’s touching to me is that the writers wrote this death in the show because the actual, beloved actress who played Wolowitz’s mom died in real life. Very real emotions throughout this entire episode and beautifully acted by all.

      It reminds me a bit of when the actor who played Mr. Hooper on Sesame Street passed away. They wrote his death into the show, focusing specifically on Big Bird's reaction, and IIRC they aired the episode on a holiday when many parents would have been home to watch with their children. As in this episode, you could see the genuine raw emotions of the cast members.

      I think i agree with him. He did in a way go through it alone. He isolated himself, sure. But not by his own choice. He was stuck in his head thinking about how he should've handled it differently and nobody quite understood how he felt. Missy had Georgie, Mary had God(and georgie), and Meemaw had alcohol(but also her boyfriend Dale). People think of him as emotionless, but truthfully his emotions were inside and expressed differently, but still valid. Quite sad to think about. Howard has people around him who do know how he feels at least.

    You have to believe Howard, given his history with Sheldon, was expecting something really insensitive or hurtful to be said when Sheldon asked to say something.
    To me, it was almost like Howard was letting Sheldon say it because a part of him wants the excuse to be angry at someone and put this hurt on them.
    But then Sheldon says something very heartfelt and it actually helps, in some small way.

      @kingstonshacklebolt1431 8 месяцев назад +36

      @@hsd287Howard didn't hate his mother. On the contrary, him and his mother had an extreme codependent relationship, and sometimes anger towards a person in the codependent relationship is common. This show had a running subtle joke that all of Leonard's male friends had a severe mental disorder that nobody acknowledged except for Raj's because it was so obvious. However it's pretty obvious that Sheldon is Autistic even though the show creators claim he isn't. Raj had extreme social anxiety towards women. Howard was extremely codependent with his mother to the point of being rendered childlike in certain ways, as are most adults who have always lived at home with their parents. Leonard was the only "normal" one in the group and therefore the reason why Penny chose to be in a relationship with him. You should see how a person in real life reacts when the object of their codependent relationship dies, it is not pretty.

    I lost my mother recently (early June). It was unexpected and heart wrenching. I felt like my body weighted down and my chest had a crushing itself. I was in tears bawling like a baby in the hospital when they told me she passed away (i'm 30). for the first week I barely ate or slept, luckly my grandmother and my two brother was around to help me in small ways (though it was hard for them too since they also lost a daughter and mother). I also had a big family who were giving me support as well as some of my mom's friends. My moms cousin who I treat like a uncle, told me to take my time to grief and know that though many people were in my situation know who can say "I know how you feel", since we all are very different.
    It hit me really hard because she basically passed away in front of me on her bed. she went into Cardiac arrest, she looked at me one last time before she started slipping away. I tried doing CPR, but it seemed to late (I didn't know what I was doing). The police and EMT came about a few minutes later to help, but it was already too late. I feel it would take about a year (maybe more) to get over my grief.

    Up until that point Sheldon was the only one with a dead parent, now they are 2, so he can understand the best how Howard would feel, especially since he knows Howard only had his mom since his father, while not deceased, hasn't been in his life since he was a kid. That was really sweet of him to cheer up Howard, pointing out that even if he lost his mom, he's not alone either, he still has his friends who loves him around to get him through that. It makes me tears up.
