Found it hard to think of Priya cheating as a bad thing. I couldn't stand her character. She was nasty, self-important and self-centered. It felt like Leonard was dating his own mother. When she cheated, I figured she'd eventually be gone, so I was happy, not sad, when it happened.
My most emotional moment was actually when Sheldon watched his father give the speech during a football game and he says "thanks Dad" - I know it's generallya heartwarming moment but for me with my Dad passing away around the time that episode aired it was a big cry...
It was even more sad for me after my father's passing. I'm also a physicist and he supported me all the way through college so I can relate to Sheldon in that scene.
@@deadlishaoran I related to that too after my dad's passing. Even though I'm not a physicist. But my father was very loving and supportive as well. Just like George, he was in the army, died suddenly of a heart attack and also enjoyed his father-daughter time with my sister. Except my sister is kind of more like Georgie lol. Actually a cross between Georgie and Missy. My dad was a cross between George Sr. and Connie personality wise.
This goes to show that Sheldon does care he does. It's just hard for him to express it remember when Howard's mom died and instead of making a quick or a comeback or something insulting or cocky he tells him while looking him dead in the eye. When my dad died I have no friends now that your mom has died you do remember that.
I think almost everyone did. I remember immediately seeing through it and hearing a few gasps from the audience when he starts talking to gollum about rings, and then he pulls out the box and everyone finally gets it.
You know Howard’s relationship with his mum makes a lot of sense once you think about it, his dad left when he was very young, so he probably didn’t want to leave her because he was worried she would feel like he was abandoning her as well.
A lot of single parent children tend to have that kind of mentality when contemplating on leaving home...they want to live their own life but don't want to feel like they're abandoning their parent because that's who they only had for support since birth...
Leonard forgiving both Beverly and himself was incredibly touching, given the circumstances of his awful childhood. Many emotionally abusive or neglectful parents might not even realise that they ARE being abusive, and while Leonard acknowledges that Beverly doesn't deserve his forgiveness, he still chooses to anyway.
It was still a very badly written moment. The writers of this show don’t know how to properly write past trauma confrontation. While I believe Leonard would do something like this, it still felt forced after ten season of her introduction. I NEVER understood WHY Penny tried to befriend her, when she was CLEARLY a bad person (not giving Leonard holiday celebrations, experimenting on him, AND THE WORST ONE OF ALL, labeling a disappointment out in public. I REALY didn’t like Penny for laughing at that). The writers didn’t know what to do with the characters, either! Why the hell would Beverly feel sad for NOT being invited to the wedding!? She didn’t CARE! She didn’t invite Leonard to HER BIRTHDAY party (which doesn’t make sense it’s a plot hole; she celebrates her OWN birthday, but not her children’s?) deep down, Leonard could have been like the Chandler Bing and maybe Barney Stinson of this show when it came to sad childhoods. Obviously he had the worst upbringing, and had WAY MORE POTENTIAL, but instead they choose to just make Leonard pathetic, and I hated that.
@Christopher Bingham She called him a disappointment, in a published book. People even ask him if he’s related to her. That’s just sad. Check out the recommendation. Beverly truly gets what she deserves and not what she doesn’t deserve.
@Christopher Bingham She's frequently abusive. She writes books that criticise him. She never let him celebrate his birthday. She talks down to him & never shows him any genuine affection. She's not only like that to Leonard; his father also says she's cold & uncaring. Millions of people have relatives who dislike them.
That’s it. I literally can’t separate the scene from the actress’ death. Same with the actress that voiced Mrs. Krebapple (sp?) in The Simpson’s. Or when we heard about Coach’s death on Cheers. And many other times…
I am still wondering what is the name of the actress who had died and had played Howie's mother? She has sounded like an actress who had played a character on "The Golden Girls" many years ago.
The episode where Howard's mother dies had the biggest emotional impact to me. The shock on everyone's faces when he breaks the news was heartbreaking and everyone rallying around him with moral support was so heartwarming.

Agreed, both episodes are still heartbreaking, though at least Sheldon and Amy's break up is softened in reruns, when you know that they'll end up together.

The death of Howard’s mother, what is certainly very sad, and had to be also for the members of the cast, who knew of the passing of the actress who played the role of Howard’s mother. It was a heart rending tribute.
the episode thar Howard ask everyone to come and eat his mother's lask cooked meal was the overwhelmingly saddest episode for me. anyone who has special feelings for his/her mother's food can relate to this.
Fred Andrews, Mrs. Wolowitz, Phil Dunphy's Father, Marshal Eriksen's Father... some of the saddest moments in TV history. Alongwith Will Smith's father leaving him on the day they planned.
The ending brought to my eye on it. I remember watching that episode. I also cried at that time too. This was an amazing show. I really miss it. Bad enough I cried during the original airings, now I'm crying over a RUclips highlight. But one left out... the moment That one got me good. I consider it a good and sad crying moment The shock on everyone's faces when he breaks the news was heartbreaking and everyone rallying around him with moral support was so heartwarming. Bro the finale gets me every time. I give the speech, and then the ending. The episode passed aired the day my father passed. It gets me in the feeling every time I love the way you say things.... then the characters say them... and then you try to explain the scene... its great, everything is great. I’ve seen this show so many times and have never been close to tears but for some reason, this video brought me to tears multiple times It could have completely changed his view of his father and explained his abandonment. His father deserved a second chance because the letter could have completely changed how my own viewed his father's abandonment. I'd like to give my opinion on the fact that they said moments bring the memory back after you someone but when you lose someone, especially a parent you never really get over it you learn to live with it I feel like I'm qualified to speak on this issue as my own younger in my age than anyone should have to father with a lady but actually she was his mother knocking 3 times was retconned when it was revealed that his dad was sleeping with his mom who was dressed up as a german woman. I understand at that time we didn't know this but since this video was posted a year ago I think it would've been better to not include it. This video is too much for my heart apparently fact: Baybrook Mall is actually in League City, not my own bother It's pretty weird for me a Dutch me in person, to see so many shows that say "I love you" is aparantly a big taboo / the last thing you say to a person you clearly loved for a long time. While in Dutch you have many subdivides of "love" to express yourself, it's quite common to express love. "I WISH YOU WEREN'T GONG" WHY IS IT SO DIFFICULT FOR WOMEN TO SAY TO A MAN: "I love you" I really miss them I was sad scored too high. The fact that he kept appearing as an imagined Force Ghost - including in this episode - kept this one from being THAT sad. And that stuff was fun! I'm really glad they kept him next around, and apparently, they collaborated with actual Star Wars people to do the Star Wars stuff/effects. I always thought meant If you go on a break, and then see someone else... that's not a break. They should not have gotten together again. The way she goes off dates another person and then expects to be able to just slide right back into her place as my own Girlfriend shows up you miss that she does not value him in the least. My least favorite part of the show is that he took her back was not in the tire list okay Why do you people tell us what someone said that was sad, then IMMEDIATELY AFTER, the actual next character says EXACTLY THE SAME THING? an hour was too long for me okay live-action I was not there I was crying too hard back then okay I was not in that video I am not really Serious that the music video was fake okay someone was bothering me too much day long okay. Behind the backstage Scenes Struggles and me okay.
I only felt some sadness with the deaths of Howard's mother and Professor Proton. Especially considering the former had cancer and the latter passed right on May 4th, Star Wars Day.
Twenty years on, it's highly unlikely that the group would all still be friends with each other. Raj would probably be the first to leave, as there'd be no motive for any of them to remain friends with him.
That was the whole point, that even they thought they may have drifted apart, the idea was to get back together anyway. They FIGURED it would be a reunion, that they would no longer be in touch, the meeting was to reconnect.
@@davidz3879 - people drift apart. It happens, especially as they grow up, move up in the careers, have kids, etc. It doesn't mean there is animosity there.
7:55, fun fact if my memory serves me well, It was indeed his mother ROLE PLAYING as a German, or Swedish woman because Sheldon and his dad had just got back from a trip to Germany, Sweeden, or some place like that so the mom put on a blond wig and dressed up for his father..
TBBT was one of those shows I binged during lockdowns, and really helped me get through those rough times (along with Parks n Rec and Schitt's Creek). A nice counterpoint to a lot of these sad moments was that they often had equally powerful resolutions, such as when Sheldon and Amy finally get back together. Watching Young Sheldon also really helps me feel more for Sheldon in TBBT. I keep wondering if they'll show the moment that leads to Sheldon knocking three times before the show ends.
I do understand how difficult it can be to lose a parent when my mothers died it was the hardest blow that life has given me thus far, hardest for me to lose a life long companion who knew me better then anyone could, love you mom and i miss you.
7:35 he though that it wasnt his mum but i think in young Sheldon it gets explained that it was infact his mum. Not sure though been awhile since i saw
Stuart was like Gunther from Friends. He was a sad sack who the main characters treated like crap. Howard Wolowitz was stupid for refusing to read his father's old letters. It could have completely changed his view of his father and explained his abandonment. His father deserved a second chance because the letter could have completely changed how Howard viewed his father's abandonment.
Considering the content of the letter is a mix of all the tales the others told him and how a half brother suddenly showed up after his mom's death, I don't think his dad disapearance is much noble. The dude got another family and obviously chosed this one over Howard. Not something worth explaining and even less forgiving.
There was one thing about Penny losing her part on NCIS that annoyed me. Why didn't she contact the network and ask Why her part was cut-wouldn't that be the normal reaction?
Won't kid. I still to this day get watery eyed over Howard's Mom passing away. The emotion the actors and actresses felt and displayed was REAL and it still is real.
I related so much with Howard when his mother died, my Nan died and what I would think about was that my Nan was never gonna feed me again, she never let up on the food 😂 miss you everyday Nan ❤ though I wouldn’t try and preserve your cooking in the fridge haha.
TBBT might not have been to everyone's tastes in terms of comedy, I found much like Scrubs, they dealt with heartbreak in a very real and raw way. The number one slot is undeniable. Watching the characters saying goodbye was hard, knowing it was the cast saying goodbye too was genuinely tear jerking.
If you mean Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn, don't shed any tears for either of them. Taylor is notorious for dating men just long enough to get material for her bad-mouth cheap-shot songs; and Joe ought to know that. Boo frickin' hoo.
@@davidanderson_surrey_bc give me a break 💔 Taylor never wrote a song about tying any of her exes up and killing them the way Eminem did yet you will praise him for his lyrics and criticize her for hers. Double standards suck.
Mrs. Wolowitz's (and the actress) passing was handled so gracefully. Instead of making the whole thing a cutesy moment or making jokes about her weight or whatever you would expect from a sitcom, they talked about loss and the grieving process. Howard's friends coming together to support him with no humor and just compassion was a keystone moment of the show. I'm a grown man and I cried like a baby throughout that whole episode.
I think that sheldon hugs Leonard because he isna man he looks up to and they all "go away" and he wanted to appreciate him while he has him. Also "going away" is a euphemism it seems so that might explain why we dont hear about the professors from young sheldon in tbbt they've likely passed away already too
7:06 However, season 7 of YS put that moment in a different light when the women that Sheldon saw with his father George is actually Mary by herself- she had disguised as another women (a German one) for a foreplay. Because Sheldon saw Mary from her back, he just saw the disguise, and interpreted it as if his Father was sleeping with another woman.

The death of Howard’s mother, what is certainly very sad, and had to be also for the members of the cast, who knew of the passing of the actress who played the role of Howard’s mother. It was a heart rending tribute.
Amazing! The last dinner with Ma. I cried.
To Mrs. Wolowitz, a loving mother,
To us all..........
(That pause was the moment which broke me)
I don't cry easily, but Leonard saying "A loving mother to all of us" gets me every time.
This show has caused me to shed some laughs but almost as many tears
"Ma is feeding us one last time " that was so sad😭😭😭
My top 3
1. Why Sheldon knocks 3 times
2. Mrs. Walowitz dying
3. Lucy breaking up with Raj
I love the way you say things.... then the characters say them... and then you try to explain the scene... its great, everything is great.
The entire episode about Howard’s dad’s letter was one of the saddest ones imo, I would have put it a lot higher on the list
Loved this! And Mrs. W's death was indeed sad. Especially knowing the actress had passed.
the episode thar Howard ask everyone to come and eat his mother's lask cooked meal was the overwhelmingly saddest episode for me. anyone who has special feelings for his/her mother's food can relate to this.
In my opinion the saddest moments were when Howard's mother died and when Amy sang happy birthday to herself
but I kinda remember Amy's lonely birthday was an hypothetical scenario I think. my memory is a bit fuzzy
@@tiniracoonIt was.
My favorite sitcom of all time, it has everything, this list is veryyy good😪💔 i miss so much The Big Bang Theory
Fred Andrews, Mrs. Wolowitz, Phil Dunphy's Father, Marshal Eriksen's Father... some of the saddest moments in TV history. Alongwith Will Smith's father leaving him on the day they planned.
I’ve seen this show so many times and have never been close to tears but for some reason this video brought me to tears multiple times
When howard realised 'I'm never gonna talk to her again "
7:34 that may have been what he saw because of the angle, but that woman was indeed his mom (as seen in Young Sheldon season 7)
this was such a great list. so many tearjerker moments!
It gets me in the feeling every time
I love the way you say things.... then the characters say them... and then you try to explain the scene... its great, everything is great.
I can't believe Sheldon getting a pep talk from his dad wasn't on here.
The satisfaction I got when Amy called out Sheldon's selfishness.... that will forever be my favourite episode in TBBT
What about when Howard went to space? Not a typical sad moment but we all teared up.
There was no motive for him to remain friends with them either except maybe Howard, but I am not sure about that.
That was the whole point, that even they thought they may have drifted apart, the idea was to get back together anyway. They FIGURED it would be a reunion, that they would no longer be in touch, the meeting was to reconnect.
@@niceguy169 Why would they want to regain contact with people whom they stopped being friends with years earlier?
@@davidz3879 - people drift apart. It happens, especially as they grow up, move up in the careers, have kids, etc. It doesn't mean there is animosity there.
@@RandomFandomDragon Even without animosity, why choose to regain contact with people whom you stopped being friends with years earlier?
7:55, fun fact if my memory serves me well, It was indeed his mother ROLE PLAYING as a German, or Swedish woman because Sheldon and his dad had just got back from a trip to Germany, Sweeden, or some place like that so the mom put on a blond wig and dressed up for his father..
By fun fact you mean a fact everyone knows because.....yea they watched the show you dork 👍👍👍👍
His dad didn't cheat! Im so glad they retconned that
I love the big bang theory. It was a very funny and emotional show. They always had ways of making the situation more dramatic lol.
I do understand how difficult it can be to lose a parent when my mothers died it was the hardest blow that life has given me thus far, hardest for me to lose a life long companion who knew me better then anyone could, love you mom and i miss you.
Stuart being alone at the 20 yr reunion was very sad. 😢
Already crying...cuz I WATCHED it all and cried 😢😢😢😢
7:35 he though that it wasnt his mum but i think in young Sheldon it gets explained that it was infact his mum. Not sure though been awhile since i saw
I'm not know to be emotional at all, more very walled tf up. But both BBT and Friends had moments that just get me going😭
I hope they will have their reunion 😢
This video is too much for my heart 😭
Stuart was like Gunther from Friends. He was a sad sack who the main characters treated like crap. Howard
Wolowitz was stupid for refusing to read his father's old letters.
Counterpoint: to hell with him! His father deserves nothing from his son.
the other part was when sheldon told leonard how he doesn't like changes and thanks him for being there for him even though he's pain in the butt
There was one thing about Penny losing her part on NCIS that annoyed me. Why didn't she contact the network and ask Why her part was cut-wouldn't that be the normal reaction?
19:40 johnny galecki is seriously an underrated actor.
Howard's mom passing away was #1 for me too.
Won't kid. I still to this day get watery eyed over Howard's Mom passing away. The emotion the actors and actresses felt and displayed was REAL and it still is real.
the pop pop one made me cry so much
They had some dang good writers, for sure.
I related so much with Howard when his mother died, my Nan died and what I would think about was that my Nan was never gonna feed me again, she never let up on the food 😂 miss you everyday Nan ❤ though I wouldn’t try and preserve your cooking in the fridge haha.
TBBT moment that should be on a list is Sheldon’s Nobel Acceptance speech. Hope this is on a list for happiest moments. Made me cry
i think one of the only flaws of TBBT is that they didnt do anything when Dr. Hawking died. Sheldon loved him so much and the show was so big to him..
In honor of Taylor and Joe breaking up, watching something sad seems fitting
If you mean Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn, don't shed any tears for either of them. Taylor is notorious for dating men just long enough to get material for her bad-mouth cheap-shot songs; and Joe ought to know that. Boo frickin' hoo.
@@davidanderson_surrey_bc give me a break 💔 Taylor never wrote a song about tying any of her exes up and killing them the way Eminem did yet you will praise him for his lyrics and criticize her for hers. Double standards suck.
I am getting so sick of hearing people trash Taylor Swift yet be perfectly okay with music that promotes Domestic violence. Grow up already.
Thanks, you almost made me cry. Almost.
The last episode had me in tears 😢
At soon-to-be 64yrs old, my life is sad enough without watching others be sad. (TV actors or not)
It's even sadder when you find out the woman he saw with his dad was actually his mother but in roleplay 😢
I think that sheldon hugs Leonard because he isna man he looks up to and they all "go away" and he wanted to appreciate him while he has him. Also "going away" is a euphemism it seems so that might explain why we dont hear about the professors from young sheldon in tbbt they've likely passed away already too
Number 9, I felt her heart breaking and mine did too😢
7:06
However, season 7 of YS put that moment in a different light when the women that Sheldon saw with his father George is actually Mary by herself- she had disguised as another women (a German one) for a foreplay.
Because Sheldon saw Mary from her back, he just saw the disguise, and interpreted it as if his Father was sleeping with another woman.
Update the other women was his mom dressed up it’s on YS S7E4
Number 18 should be way higher. I loved this moment and in the moment it was so sad
I just finished the Big Bang theory tonight so sad 😭
Leonard was the most insecure character on the show. He told Sheldon to get over his childhood issues but Leonard didn't get over his.
Unfortunately, Leonard didn't have loving and supportive parents like Sheldon did.
