    4:46 "These radius arm Bushings are toast".................. Really?.... they already had poly-bushings you can clearly see and they looked perfect. The 'coin-operated' slant of this show has them wasting money and I'd declare performance. How funny is there getting junk-yard coil springs to replace the factory 'lowered' SVT springs that are obviously 'tuned' by FORD. They re-used the factory LIGHTNING front sway-bar since it was the same size as the Addco that of course they got for FREE. Stock Lightning's with the factory wheels and factory size 275 60-17's just barely scuff the paint of the front frame on full lock turns. Lightning's have a 2" drop front and 1" rear drop (when I replaced but saved my factory shocks with Bilsteins it was a bitch compressing them to get them in the factory 'lowered' space. The Gen I's will hold turns like glue. Not to mention Gen I's come with factory traction bars. Some aftermarket outfit is going to hope to match a Special Vehicle Teams Lightning's handling. For them bastardizing the suspension is nothing but BUY THIS CRAP....Factory Lightning's came with Performance Friction Pads. The stock rotors will go through hell and not warp -- go ahead and put some vented and slotted Chinese rotors on and watch them crack."First thing we did was ditch the leaf spring with a snubber on it". I've seen many 11 and 12 sec Gen I's with nothing but the stock rear suspension. FORD/SVT actually cooked up a reinforced center section with huge reinforcing fins/webs on the 8.8s that are unique to LIGHTNINGs. (look for it in this video) Anyone think the factory rear suspension/rear axle is not tuned to the max?................ They geniuses retain the stock Lightning Front Sway Bar and replace the Lightning's stock rear sway bar with a thicker Addco sway-bar. Add in those four-foot long traction bars and they have tossed all that SVT's suspension work in the dumpster.

    • @centraltexasfoxbodies
      @centraltexasfoxbodies 4 года назад

      Those arent factory traction bars, those are slapper bars and are adequate at best, traction bars are way better option.

      @@bmstylee no mr bill... These american companies shouldnt design things to nickel and dime you to death while they make billions..
      Most people would have to have that done at a dealership.. Which means if they design it to be in a stupid spot that takes a tech 4 hours to change... Thats 4 hours you have to pay them to do it.. and they know that..
      They know fully well they could of made it a 15 min job but they would never make any money. Cause you could buy a $10 part and do it your self for free. Instead of paying a dealership $95 an hour plus parts..
      You want good engineered vehicles that are well designed and eay to work on.. You buy old german or old japanese vehicles...
      Theyre engineered like tanks and is why lots of them are still around on the road..

    Do any of you ppl ever answer questions that can really help "Joe American" w/ his truck issues ??
    I have a 1999 Ford F-150 w/a 5.4 V8. I understand the aluminum heads are very thin where the spark plugs thread in. That's why I've had 3 spark plugs already blown through the threads having to be fixed w/helicoils. I understand they can't be fixed twice. Solve this problem for good.
    Questions :
    a) do you know of this problem ?
    b) do you have a recommendation you could share ?
    c) are there aftermarket or other heads available that don't have the same problem & could fit this engine ?
    Thanks for your generous consideration,

      You Sir are a moron, the I-beams are forged steel they can stand Hell. Regarding your "...i found a good shop back in the day that would heat the entire beam and re arch them back to straight even though it says....." Sadly you are clueless.

    The EBC slotted and dimpled rotors are amazing but their green pads are definitely street pads. Even if your F-150 isn't a track monster, if you want better stopping power for these heavy trucks use Hawk pads instead.

    in part 1 of this series they specifically said "We both wanted trucks as close to stock as possible" by now, each of these trucks has had twice if not 4-times their actual market value dumped into them in _bolt-on performance parts..._ I feel like I'm watching memoirs from two Technical high school auto shop students in the second half of their senior year being filmed by the AV Club dork so he gets rides to school for the rest of the year...
