- A simple meal that can be prepped in about 1 hour. This can also be used with chicken breast, as well any chicken! A very tasty meal that all will enjoy, and easy to add whatever ingredients you desire!
Use a cast iron dutch oven instead. Sear the chops and remove, then brown some onions with butter and garlic. Deglaze with some broth of your choice. Mix in your cream of mushroom soup with the broth, then add your chops and finish in the oven. One dish to clean and more flavor from the deglazing process.
Might want to consider seasoning the pork chops before searing them, and I almost always recommend adding garlic to pork, but otherwise it looks very good.
They were seasoned with pepper. Garlic is also sometimes added, otherwise the pork has plenty of flavour once the sauce is poured over. Thanks for your input. 👍
@@DaveWilcoxJrOutdoors lol that ain’t seasoning the pork chops my guy 🤦🏾♂️😂
Great stuff, one of favoites! We do a similar resipe with shoulder chops, we don't add any water but layer potatoes the are cut in half lengthwise on top. I let them go 2+ hours in the oven so they are nice and tender. One of the best easy cooking resipes around, thanks for your version!
+backyardmeat Awesome tips Aaron! I will try that for sure! I would like to add the Yukon golds from my garden in the roaster!
Looks so tasty cnt wait to make it.Great vid.
Nice cooking I try now
My wife just made this a few weeks ago...Good eating there brother...
+Heith Gagnon Cool, I didn't realize how common this meal was all over, many people like this meal. I like it with chicken as well, all kinds of chicken, and you can also use cream of chicken soup!
One of my favorite meals. Sometime will add broccoli an green pepper to to the soup
Making this tonight! Thanks
K St I hope you enjoy... it is a simple and tasty meal! Thanks. ☺
I'm cooking your recipe right now, on New Year's Day! Using gluten free cream of mushroom soup. I fried the cabbage in the same grease I seared the chops in, and added cubed ham to it. Thank you for sharing!
Abby May thank you... sounds like you will be enjoying a great meal! Happy New Year!!
Dave Wilcox Jr Outdoors It was delicious! Thank you, Dave! Wishing you and you're family a happy and safe 2018, as well!
Cream of Onion is fantastic with pork! It's full of flavor and I have found that I didn't need as much seasoning, such as sage and thyme. Yes, I usually use a little of those seasons, as well as a hit of garlic powder. But Cream of Onion soup contains enough flavor, I can cut back on the amount of salt, etc. Just an alternate method.
I cook this a lot it’s one of my favourite
Looking good my man!
Looks good Dave! I may get the wife to try that recipe!!!
+Todd Wittenmyer Thanks Todd, try this with chicken as well... I know you have a few hens to butcher, I know you will enjoy! Throw in a bit of Cajun spices to kick it up a notch!

I have made this many times, Normally with chicken legs, I always added carrots and turnip cut into small pieces and lots poultry seasoning, Like you said no skill required and always delicious.
+lifeinthailand Yes it is delicious with chicken legs as well... and you can't go wrong with carrots and turnip!
+Dave Wilcox Jr yr recipe is great.... next time wash the rice before you cook it!
Thanks, I do wash the basmati rice depending on the brand and instructions... but you are right being necessary to wash the rice! I appreciate your good advice, as I am no means a pro in the kitchen! Haha.
Dave Wilcox Jr thanks for responding lol
+Marsha Morrison no problem at all... I appreciate your time to view and help out giving some great advice! ☺
Tasty and simple, one of my favorites for sure. I normally find pork chops to be dry so this is a great recipe. Pretty good with partridge too!
+SwampDonkey530 Sure is Jeff, I agree, most times pork is too dry and this eliminates that issue! I just thought about using grouse or ptarmigan with this recipe as well, I bet it is delicious! Thanks for the heads up!
Try a quick wet brine about hour-2 before cooking
Dang, nice meal you got there. I have a couple pigs heading to the butcher in a few weeks and that will be the first meal
I make when they get back. Cheers!!
+Joshua Smith Thanks Joshua, this is a great and simple meal, and very inexpensive! I would like to have my own pigs and chicken some day here! You are very lucky! Enjoy friend, cheers!!

I just ate some muscovy duck I raised. Excellent tasting. The only duck not related to the mallard. Raising these ducks with a few meat chickens would be an easy start. It is rewarding raising your own food, and healthier. I have 3 freezers packed full of meat and veg from the yard to get us through the winter, spring and early summer until next harvest. I also do maple syrup, apple cider, goat milk and working on goat butter. It isn't easy work, but very satisfying. I work as a handyman so I have a flexible schedule to allow me to be home. One day I would like to do trapping as a side income and live off the land a lot more. Take care and plan some meat in your yard for next spring. I can walk you through the simple ways of raising meat. wiithout the heavy labour. Cheers
Damn ha ha ha all I can think is bacon
Never mind the feed love the habs board. but that is a fine feed.
+Rabbit Hunter Thanks buddy... All Habs here!

In case someone prefers their rice just plain. 🙂

They were seasoned with pepper yes... I did mention that during the video.
Give me a break , tinned mushroom soup and pork chop... travesty
It's called comfort food. Try it sometime, maybe it'll help you calm down.
ovo is my shit
If making this with chicken or pasta, add some dried tarragon, it will taste amazing. I discovered this as a student years back making good tasting meals on a budget :-) Cream of Mushroom soup is so versatile.
I cook this a lot it’s one of my favourite
Awww come on you tainted the rice placing it on the habs!!! ....lol Either way, you made it look easy and I will give it a go for me and the kids tonight....well done!
You just made a white people version smothered chops
How long u bake for
trying this rn :)
You could actually cook the rice in the roaster along with the pork chops to save on a pot and work.
Yes that's a great tip! Thanks.
Can milk be used as a replacement for water... silly me, I'm asking after the fact. I'll let you know as I'm following your recipe using pork. O'Kay, after letting my five chops set immersed in cream of mushroom for twenty min., searing the pork, put them in the pre-heated crock pot on high for twenty min; then, low for thirty min. Meat was tender and not requiring to be even cut; rather, just a fork was needed. Heck, I almost threw in some Navy Beans into the mix. Nap time... later.
Yum making this tonight thank you!
cabbage would been good to:) wit this
Looks good, I'm about to make this. I bought everything the other day.
I hope you enjoyed the tasty meal! 🙂
when did you add the flour? thanks for giving the time frame too...it's very helpful!! looks really good.
thanks again
No flour added in the recipe. The cream of mushroom soup with water is thick enough. Thanks.
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm looks awesome. Migwech
Haaaaaaaaaaaa , love when the wife packs my meals------she's afraid I wouldn't eat when I'm in the bush lol Migwech
+Kirk McCutcheon Thanks Kirk, very simple meal and always good the next day!
+Time on the line Hahaha... Norm, this would work well with grouse with enough seasoning!
