I have shared this on my FB page and thank you Emma and Sophie Thompson for caring and actually doing something about it! Fracking is destroying the landscape and underworld of Earth in America , polluting rivers, the soil and making sink holes and just plan stupid to rape the earth over and over again! Britain is not as big and will suffer irreparable damage if we do not stop these greedy pigs now! Thank you both! WE are on your side!!! (and Emma Thompson, loved you in every film role you have done!)
Well done your information is spot on and the politicians and power that be, who are using data from The US, as you point out it is not comparable to our tiny Island,. I have to remind myself this everytime I think I am not sure if I like all those windmills on the landscape. I live in The windy North East of England but I have also lived in Texas so I do have some experience and enough knowledge to have a fairly well-informed opinion. We need more high profile people like Emma and Sophie to fight the good fight.

I like how you have thrown some comedy into the video! You are so right about David Cameron saying La La La La La all day everyday. He even forced the Queen to approve fracking in one of her speeches. It was in the news awhile ago when David Cameron was talking about Fracking.
P.S. How would Mr Cameron feel if we all went and started fracking under 10 Downing street!

No evidence that extracting the gas causes any major problems and burning it causes minimal pollution, natural gas is mostly methane which is one part carbon to four parts hydrogen, CH4, the exhaust is water vapour and a small amount of CO2 which can be offset by planting trees.
Anyway, all fuels are renewable and are constantly being produced, the process of making these energy sources is still going on.

Whilst I certainly don't disagree re: fracking , what exactly is the plan to generate a consistent and reliable 35GW (and increasing) of energy for the UK's current requirements?
At present, there's the *capacity* for up to just under 12GW of wind power; with a realistic capacity of maybe a third; so say 4GW, averaged out; once windless, less-than-optimal wind and *too* windy periods are factored in.
Available Solar power will be considerably less than that, given the climate and geographical location of our drab, dreary Isles along with the unusable period of darkness known as 'Night-time'.
So what are the currently available options to us?
