Compared to other watches like Amazfit verge, Huawei GT is much better. Display is so bright and all features are really cool. Feels really premium. I like it. 👌👍
I wish when people do smart watch reviews they would cover some of the most important aspects of a smart watch and that is interaction with Calendar, reminders and so on - what a SMART watch is supposed to do. Not everyone is interested in the sports side
Its not really intended to be a smart watch. Its more of a fitness tracker in the form factory of a watch. In fact it doesn't have a mic nor speaker and cant install additional apps on it for more notifications. Internal storage is very low and only has 16mb of ram if i'm not mistaken. it looks really cool, but if your looking for a smart watch with the normal expected experience this isn't for you mate.
What is a Smart Watch? If we're talking the ability to use apps, tell me which app is worth a damn other than a hand full? My Galaxy watch runs apps, they all suck and make the watch lag or lock up. I like the idea of a set of core functionalites and a stable device.

i have use smartwatch for many years, many brands and type. for a such a long time, i love to wear huawei watch first gen, because the shape and how it looks. but after all, again, after use many kind of brand and type, i think this huawei GT is maybe the best answer of me. Because I hate of 2 days (sometimes 1 day even) battery life, I don't use my watch to talk during call, I don't reply chat or texting with my watch. I just want to know the important notification, always keep update for certain information, have fun with some exercise menu, waterproof, and the important thing is about battery life. Maybe if huawei improve (the light OS should be not light anymore) for some menu, such as for wacthfaces (that we cannot add), that would be perfect!
It isn't much of a smartwatch as functions and apps are very limited. But it IS a fantastic activity tracker. And very kind of Huawei to give me a free one with my Mate 20 Pro.
I believe that the two weeks of battery life is with the watch LCD screen in the off/raise to on state. Having worn the Huawei Smart watch for a couple of years and now going to the Amazfit Stratos I believe I prefer the transreflective screen instead. A little hard to see in low light but it has a raise to see backlight and a constant on screen that last up to five days.
I admit the watch looks very nice, a much better looking design than the Tag Heuer Connected. I’m impressed, it looks closer to a premium Swiss watch then the connected. Ironically the Hauwei does look like a Autavia Heuer from a distance.
Just to confirm, the 5 atm doesn't mean you can go dive with the watch, its only good for swimming, you can even check that information on any watch page :)
As a fitness tracker it does not sync with any app on the market like... For instance... One that Huawei probably doesn't know about, it's called Strava. Yeah, this watch does NOT sync with strava (or any other app except Huawei Health)

Well I bought I Huawei GT 2 I'm very dissatisfied with it it is supposed to work with OS wear and I cannot get OS wire on the watch no way I try if you could help me I'd really appreciate it thank you
I've owned this a week. It's a smartwatch / Fitness tracker and it fails miserably on both accounts. Can't really do anything a smartwatch does. On the Fitness side of things its controlled by the Huawei Health App, step counters on the watch and app are totally different, The app uses the built-in pedometer on phones before the watch which makes the app pretty useless for tracking anything, Calories are again wrong on both watch and app, No workout option for gym or weights so you pick the "other" option which massively undercounts calories. It should also be mentioned unlike 99% of other fitness trackers this only counts calories when you do a workout, it doesn't take into account the calories burned throughout the day on your BMR. It's supposed to track floors climbed but this doesn't work. It also wont sync to any other app so the likes of Strava is out of the question. It looks nice yes but thats where the good points end. Avoid.
besides all you said, you can't add more watch faces..... it looks cool but as you said, it 's all it has to offer.... BTY same thing with huawei freebuds... waste of money
Thanks for posting this. Looks like a cool watch, the battery life is so much better than my Garmin. But if it doesn't upload data to websites like Running Ahead and Strava then it's not for me.
Why dont any of these reviews tell you there's no strava connectivity for this watch? I have the GT2 and it is a fantastic watch BUT no strava connection is a massive let down.
I have this watch... trust me it's not a smart watch at all. Showing basic notification in 2019 is not smart. No third party apps at all. Default apps are terrible. Watch faces are very limited, no third party watch faces either. Please note.. you have to use Huawei ID software to use the Huawei health app, which is the only app you can use. Note again this watch uses Huawei's LiteOS, so forget normal Android Wear features.

I wonder why an average person would wear a watch with a leather strap under water or go swimming with it. Anyway, I guess if they DO dive under the water with this smartwatch, they would replace the leather strap with a rubber strap? It's part of the regime, and there is no way to skip this step, just like you would swap your Cashmere suit and tie for a frogman suit if you are a professional diver about to jump deep into the sea. So this "water resistant" stuff (same goes for all watches) is really about not having to worry if you get caught in the rain or you wash your hands and water splash over it. My two cents' worth...

To znamená, že ak mám mobil v bunde a nemám hodinky na ruke, tak ani neviem, že niekto volá. Musím pozrieť na mobil. Tak načo mi sú? ... Lebo majú dlhú výdrž batérie... Super. This watch doesn’t support AOD (always on display). The maximum you can have it is displayed for five minutes. It’s meant to light up when you lift it to look at it though
@Pandaily Quick question, how does notifications work on this watch? I hear that the notification experience is not that good and you cannot have all the notifications to it?
I've been using mine for about a month now and must admit its lacking functionality, it's more of a beautiful fitness tracker, it will let you know when you have a call or message etc, but you still need your phone to see fully and reply. Battery life and looks are as epic as the build quality, but without apps it won't be around for long.

How long did it take for everybody else's to arrive... all those that took advantage of the promotion that is? Looking forward to finally getting it. They said we should recieve them soon and that the delivery company will email us the day before they deliver to let us know...i guess we will just have to wait and see!

I were considering buying this one but thanks god that i saw Samsung Gear Sport! the gear sport incredible screen, responsive touch and the rotating bezel is great, Amazing software with amazing functions Without this stupid lagg, great fot fitness and sleeping and the Most Important for a lower Price. A battery that is normally used for up to 14 days, which is longer than a typical smartwatch, but if using continuous GPS, it can stay up to 22 hours.

Nice review, just bought this watch and am very happy with it.
Stainless steel and DLC coated with 2 crowns. The screen is 1.39 inch AMOLED.
