  • During the Winter months we receive calls from homeowners perplexed as to why their furnace will not turn on and they have no heat. Here is a video about one of the common reasons for your furnace to not work properly. High efficient furnaces have exhaust and intake vents that move air into and exhaust out that are made of PVC and most commonly vent out the side of the home.
The intake pipe for your furnace has an elbow that turns down. This pipe if close to the ground can get blocked by snow or ice during heavy snow years or events. Extreme cold and wind may also freeze the entrance of the pipe. We have also received call where kids have shoved balls into the pipe. For whatever reason, blockage of this pipe will cause your furnace to not work and need furnace service or furnace repair requests.
You can save money and time from the cold by checking this pipe and making sure it is cleared from snow and ice.
