  • 1987 RM125 Full Restoration.
    Put your favourite music on for the first 3 1/2 minutes as there is no audio for that portion. Paid $250 for the bike as seen on the back of the car. Put $700 into it. The project is done. Test ride tomorrow and maybe a track test as well. Pretty happy with he way it turned out. Worth the modest budget i gave myself. Hopefully the bike is a good fit for me and handles well, as i really like the looks of it.

    I love your videos dude I'm the guy you texted on here I love older bikes they are built way better and run better than newer bikes I have an 87 CR 125 completely restored and it's the best bike I've ever had. It holds it's own against any newer 125 out there.

    awesome build! wondering how long it took to polish up those plastics and what grits of paper did you use? Came out stunning really.

    • @TNTMOTO
      @TNTMOTO  8 лет назад +3

      Thanks. I used an x-acto knife blade to remove the dead layer of plastic on the outside. Be very careful to do this lightly. If your not good with a knife, use some 180 grit sand paper and soapy water. You still do not want to be to aggressive as 180 can put some pretty deep scratches in the plastic. From here move to 240,400,800,1000,2000 and 4000 all with soapy water. If the finish is still not shiny enough, use a sheep wool buffing wheel on a drill. Do not push too hard as it will burn the plastic. I would say i put a minimum of 3 hours into each piece. If the plastic is in good shape with very few scratches, just no shine. Start with a finer grit of paper. You want to minimize how much plastic you remove.

    they look a nice bike to restore these rm s. you seem to get these bikes for peanuts where everyone in U.K. wants top dollar for all this vintage stuff. that would have been £12-1500 in its unrestored state in U.K.

    • @TNTMOTO

    99.9% done. You GOTTA get rid of those black fork boots for the stock yellow ones. The black ruins the entire look imo. Plus you could ditch that ugly front disc guard in favor of a stock yellow plastic disc guard. Just out of curiosity how many teeth are on that rear sprocket 58? Otherwise it's a beautiful bike.
