Zimmerman supporters love to say how Martin's dad didn't believe it was his son screaming but they are always silent on Zimmerman himself saying that it wasn't Zimmerman screaming. You would think that a halfway decent prosecution team would take that and run with it combined with the fact that Zimmerman was so calm right after the shooting (and the fact that a young healthy man is not going to be screaming when he has a gun) and the evidence (Trayvon's lungs developed pneumothorax when he was shot, he couldn't vocalize and that's why the screams ended immediately at the exact instant he was shot) but the two bungling idiots Bernie De La RIonda and John Guy never mentioned it.

Zimmerman may not be terribly bright, but he also isn't a complete moron. Too many people hold strong opinions that Zimmerman was guilty when they are not familiar with the actual evidence. That is what is messed up.
      Here is but one, alarming, example: 8 witnesses to parts of the incident testified for the prosecution and not one credibly contradicted a single element of Zimmerman's version of events. Not a single element. No other witnesses to any part of the incident testified, but if they had, they too would not have contradicted anything.

      Zimmerman shot the 17 year-old Trayvon Martin because Trayvon Martin was beating and would not stop beating Zimmerman, even after an eye-witness came outside, from only 20 feet away, and yelled he was calling 911. Zimmerman, legally, used his gun to defend himself. Zimmerman sold the gun and painted pictures as a way to bring in income (he had little means to make income because he [incorrectly] became the most hated man in America). He sued the parents, along with the attorneys and Rachel Jeantel and Brittany Diamond Eugene, because the evidence was overwhelming they all perpetrated a fraud upon Zimmerman, which is much the reason he became the most hated man in America. Zimmerman was some 100 feet or more from Martin, who some 400 from the home he was staying at, when Zimmerman followed, and Zimmerman stopped following nearly 400 from that home as Martin disappeared behind a row of homes and continued increasing the distance between himself and Zimmerman while making his way to that home.
      3.5 minutes AFTER Zimmerman had stopped, Martin returned and attacked Zimmerman - in the exact same area Zimmerman had previously stopped (400 feet away from the home Trayvon had been running toward). THIS is what the evidence tells us happened. The evidence is plentiful. If I am wrong regarding my understanding of the evidence, then I am wrong, not evil nor sociopathic.

      @The Hand - You don't appear to understand the context in Zimmerman's statement to the dispatcher. You likely also don't understand that 5 seconds after Zimmerman said, "He ran", Zimmerman stopped running. At the point Zimmerman stopped running is where the physical altercation started....... *3.5 minutes later.* When Zimmerman stopped, Martin was long gone, which is why Zimmerman told the dispatcher, "He ran". There was no chase. And the only reasonable conclusion one can make is that Martin returned, which is exactly what Zimmerman indicated in his version of the story. The evidence supported Zimmerman. It did not contradict him.

    • @bradlee2594
      @bradlee2594 2 года назад

      @The Hand - Unlike most people, I will answer challenging questions. You will need to choose your questions more carefully if you want to truly challenge me though.
      *Name one piece of evidence that shows Martin ever took one step in Zimmerman's direction.* Approximately 58 seconds into Zimmerman's phone call with the dispatcher, Zimmerman said, "now he's coming towards me". That's evidence that Martin was approaching Zimmerman. 23 seconds later, Zimmerman told the dispatcher, "yup, he's coming to check me out". That's a 2nd piece of evidence.
      *Zimmerman made the call about Martin. Why?* Because he observed Martin in the yard of someone he knew Martin did not live, and because Martin was behaving oddly in that he was walking in the rain with no apparent purpose and looking at homes. None of that was a crime, and Zimmerman never claimed Martin committed a crime. Zimmerman did exactly as his police-sponsored neighborhood watch training instructed him to do, which was call a non-emergency number anytime he saw something suspicious or saw someone in an area they did not belong. It's no more complicated than that.
      *Zimmerman chased him. Why?* Zimmerman never chased Martin. To believe he did, you would have to ignore the evidence or be ignorant of it and believe other people who have ignored the evidence or are ignorant of it.
      *In the walk-through interview, which is recorded, Zimmerman demonstrated that he continued in Martin's direction, armed, for several yards. How does he run for less than 10 seconds and get into a fight three minutes later?* Martin ran South away from the area Zimmerman was in and toward the back entrance, which was coincidently where the house was that Martin was staying at. Both of them lost sight of each other. Zimmerman stated so, and Rachel Jeantel also stated so when she said that Martin had told her, "I'm in the back by daddy's fiance's house." and also, "I lost him". 3.5 minutes after Zimmerman stopped running - and also approximately 3.5 minutes after Martin told Jeantel, "I lost him", the physical attack started in the same area Zimmerman had stopped running in. This is more evidence that Martin must have approached Zimmerman, not the other way around. You have to understand a lot of evidence to understand this clearly.
      *We are supposed to believe the hothead we hear on the call gave up obediently because the dispatcher said so?* Yes. First, there is nothing "hot-headed" about Zimmerman's interaction with the dispatcher. Mumbling under your breath is the exact opposite of hot headed. Listen to Zimmerman's voice throughout the 4-minute call with dispatcher. He is nothing but calm. To answer your question directly, again, yes we should believe Zimmerman stopped running very shortly after the dispatcher said, "We don't need you to do that". It's wind noise that lead the dispatcher to conclude Zimmerman was following Martin, and the wind noise stops shortly after Zimmerman was told, "We don't need you to do that". After the wind noise stops, Zimmerman spoke very calmly with the dispatcher, and there is no wind noise for the entire 83 seconds he finished his call after the wind noise stopped.
      If you would like to challenge anything I've said - or anything else, I'm willing and able to discuss. Also unlike most people, I'm willing to learn things I haven't already learned and change my opinion based on new things I've learned. If you want to ignore what I've said and continue believing what you believe based on assertions others have perpetuated, not based on evidence, you're welcome to do that as well.

    • @bradlee2594
      @bradlee2594 2 года назад

      @The Hand - I understand long-winded answers, combined with a case involving a mountain of evidence, is difficult to stay on the same page. Perhaps you would be interested in focusing a bit? I too have studied this case, and unlike most people am willing to have my conclusions about the case be scrutinized. Before focusing, I will respond to your comments.
      Words by a defendant are indeed evidence. They are not necessarily proof of anything though.
      There is not necessarily anything wrong with Zimmerman providing specific information to the dispatcher and then later adding new information. Certainly, you can guess that he might be lying with the new information. But he also might be telling the truth. To clarify though, Zimmerman never claimed Martin was trespassing. Only when later asked where Martin was when Zimmerman first saw Martin did Zimmerman tell police that Martin was in the yard of a house he knew Martin did not live. The situation was dynamic, and Martin likely stood for seconds at a time and walked at other times. Zimmerman has never been pressed to provide a second-by-second detailed retelling of every move Martin made and did not make. It would be ridiculous to believe Zimmerman - or anyone - could do that.
      People try to make what Zimmerman saw simplistic when it's not. "Trayvon was doing nothing but walking" is a ridiculous statement people make. That's not to imply Martin was doing anything wrong. Whatever he was doing, Zimmerman found it to be suspicious. There's nothing wrong with that, unless "black = suspicious", which is another ridiculous notion that people apply to Zimmerman.
      In the re-enactment, Zimmerman did indeed say the dispatcher asked him if he could get to where he could see Martin. And I agree, that did not happen. But it is clear, during the original call with the dispatcher, Zimmerman believed the dispatcher was perfectly agreeable with Zimmerman in keeping an eye on Martin. The dispatcher says at one point, "let me know if he does anything else". In fact, he said it twice.
      The same circumstance as above applies to Zimmerman's other statements. While on the call, his comments were short and spontaneous. In the re-enactment, his statements were more long-form. There can be no real surprise that his statements don't 100% or even 60% align, even if the statements were 100% honest. I would be happy to discuss any one - or any number of these specific statements in more detail.
      Yes, Zimmerman admitted to following Martin in his vehicle. Not a crime though, and he believed, rightly or wrongly, the dispatcher was OK with him keeping an eye on Martin.
      When Zimmerman says Martin is running and Zimmerman follows, for the 2nd time, and you concluded that was "factually" a chase, you are ignoring a truckload of evidence that provides a lot more understanding. Where Martin was and where Zimmerman was at the point Martin started running is important. Do you have any idea? I do. Lots of evidence tells us very approximately where. The evidence tells us Martin might well have been out of Zimmerman's view while Zimmerman was still inside his vehicle more than 100 feet away. Maybe 200 feet way. The evidence tells us that Zimmerman did not start running until 14 seconds after Martin started running. If we do the math, Martin was at least 100 feet and another 14 seconds ahead of Zimmerman by the time Zimmerman started running. And for most of those 14 seconds, Zimmerman did not know where Martin was. So Zimmerman's reaction to run, as he later explained and is also supported by the evidence, was to get to an area where he could regain sight of Martin. The evidence tells us that Zimmerman ran for no more than 23 seconds. Based on where Zimmerman got out of his vehicle and the direction he headed, we can make very decent guesses as to where he was when he stopped running. And we can also guess that Martin was very close to the back of the house he was staying at, based on all of this evidence. This "chase" narrative is exactly that. It's a narrative based on little evidence and a lot of ignoring of a lot of other evidence. I can break this down in another post if interested.
      You are correct, there is no evidence that Martin ever returned to the house. I never said he did though. I repeated what Jeantel said Martin told her. And based on the evidence of where Martin started running, combined with Jeantel saying Martin said, "in the back by my daddy's fiance's house", and Martin had enough time to crawl to the house, and it was Martin's intent to go home to watch the NBA all-star game, there is every reason to believe Martin either made it to the back door (or even the front door). Regardless, one must wonder why Martin returned to where he started running from, if not to specifically confront Zimmerman? "Trayvon had a right to be where Zimmerman was", while 100% true, is not a valid answer.
      Your characterization of Zimmerman "hissing" profanity is a bit overly dramatic. He said under his breath, "effing punks". He said nothing else even close to similar while running. Not exactly a profanity-laced enraged hot-headed meltdown as you want us to believe. Your "It is documented" and "you don't get deny facts" comments were funny though.
      Feel free to respond to anything or nothing. But can I request you pick one thing - anything - to debate or a single challenge question, then we'll get into it and see which of us understands the case - or at least that one point. Or may I challenge you on something/anything?

    • @bradlee2594
      @bradlee2594 2 года назад

      @The Hand - You said, again, *"there are no statements given by RJ (Rachel Jeantel) stating that Martin had returned to his father's girlfriend's house."* Why repeat this? I agreed with you the first time. I will say it again. Jeantel never stated Martin went to the house. I agree. I further explained why I believe Martin did go to the house. I may indeed be wrong about that, but nothing I said about it was unreasonable and certainly not dishonest. You don't appear to know the case anywhere near as well as you think you do. If you did, you would debate what I said and attempt to prove it wrong instead of simply asserting that I am dishonest and also reasserting your statement, implying I disagreed with a fact when I didn't.
      You said, *I thought the freedom of Martin to move about would be conceded..."* I did concede that. You seem to have a comprehension issue. You added, *"but you want to perform time calculations so that you can lock down his whereabouts to further your argument."* Well, yeah. The timeline helps us connect dots. Other evidence does too. You seem to favor ignorance. I do not.
      You said, *"The only evidence of Martin's location is the surveillance camera at the store where he bought the candy and the location of his body. His movements are not known."* You're dead wrong. If you actually studied the case and paid attention, you would know this. If you were interested in learning, you could. Or am I giving you too much credit?
      You said, *"You have conceded that he was followed. We know GZ was armed. Martin was within his rights to defend himself upon fear for his life. "* The first two statements are true. The last is ridiculous. While Martin would have been within his rights to defend himself had he been in fear of his life, there is ZERO evidence that he was in fear of his life. Martin did not know Zimmerman was armed until the moment before he was shot, while still in the act of attacking Zimmerman.
      You said, *"The shooter lied about instructions from dispatch and his credibility is in question."* There's no proof he lied. You "think" he lied. Your view of the entire case is based more on ignorance than evidence, and because of it you "feel" rather than know.
      You said, *"As I said, there is zero evidence Martin took one step in Zimmerman's direction."* Look again. If you hadn't ignored my answer to you previously, you would know there is evidence Martin came toward Zimmerman. Again, Zimmerman told the dispatcher, "Now he's coming towards me" and also, "yup, he's coming to check me out". I even provided timestamps in the recorded call. But you're not interested in the timeline...... or evidence.
      You said, *"Rather, the evidence shows that every step Zimmerman took was toward an unarmed teenager who had committed no crime."* You are simply wrong. You have no idea what steps Zimmerman took during the 3.5 minutes after Zimmerman had stopped running. The evidence indicates he was not walking South toward where Martin ran. You have no real understanding of anything. And you have no desire to remedy your predicament.
